Even as they were a panel, each had a particular person they thought had done the best to them, which varied from the other judges, now was the time to argue and convince the other judges to vote their choice.
Mr Black was oblivious to the current debate by the panel. She was perfect and that was the more reason he wanted to hide her from the world so much. He knew she would make a good actress, he had seen it for himself and she had stunned him so much, he also knew she was good for Business but he was jealous and didn't want to share her, he had already made his decision, he was going to give the role to the other deserving girl, His Grace was better off with out it. He picked the two files up as his eyes caught Grace's passport, even for a passport he was sure stunned , she had a small smile and her eyes twinkled. Passports were meant to be ugly but she still stunned in her passport, she was a natural beauty. He said a little sorry from his head to her, he had seen the expectat
"Good Evening Ladies, Can I have your attention please?". Mr Justin, spoke in a polite voice to all the exhausted ladies in the Lobby. He was Accompanied by Jane, The receptionist who attended to her and another unfamiliar lady who was still dressed in a professional attire, The both ladies had purple gift boxes in each of their hands, though Jane's was slightly bigger. Grace wondered what was inside the boxes at first sight but decided not to think much about it as it would be revealed later on. The sound of The managers voice was like a bell rung to most of the sleeping ladies. It was inevitable to fall asleep, even Grace did, it wasn't a bad thing though, they were all exhausted and tired, which was expected, they had been seated at the lobby for almost ten hours, some had arrived at 9:00 am to secure a good space at the lobby due to the crowd and had been there ever since, it was already 8pm now and even though Grace and her mum had arrived a little
“Are You okay?’’. Eliene asked once Grace had seated in the car. “I don’t know Mum”. Grace brought her knees to her head hugging it. She stiffled a moan as she began crying uncontrollably. Her cries were loud and each sound felt more painful than the last to Aliens. “No Amore, No!, don’t cry”. Eliene pulled grace close to her self hugging her tightly. With Her free hands she patted her shoulders softly as she allowed her to cry. Knowing that it was better for her to pour it out, than bottle it in. There was a comfortable mixture of crying and the soft sounds of patting that Eliene was doing and soon Her loud wails were just soft sniffing here and there. “Thanks Mum”. Grace said sitting back in a normal position. "Do you know why I wanted this part so much Mum?" Grace asked after a short while. "Because you've always wanted to be an Actress". Her mum answered turning to face her. "No, You're wro
Chapter 13: The lion and the Lamb. His Limousine was parked in his reserved spot with two other cars parked side by side all belonging to him. Three guards stood besides each car protecting it, though it wasn't needed as they were all bulletproof. As he got closer to the car, the three guards greeted him, he nodded in response as one walked towards him with a file which he handed to him. "From Zack Sir". The guard told him which he nodded understanding, he expected it. Zack always have his guards bring the information , He was his personal investigator, but he was never allowed to enter the company or his house, he could only give his guards as they were trusted and weren't allowed to open parcels but only deliver them to him. He held the parcel before walking towards the limousine and stopping abruptly. "Vincent?". "He's inside Sir". The same guard replied. He nodded before entering the opened car. Vincent immediately starts the car a
Memories of the previous day flooded Grace's mind as she woke up, past emotions still eminent in her mind, a sense of disappointment, but also a sense of understanding. She remembered the little talk she had with her mother and it helped sooth her worrying mind. She rubbed her eyes for a while adjusting it to the already bright day. She turned left checking her little desk clock, it read 8am, she gasped a bit before laughing at herself, she had slept a lot, again. Shaking her head, she turned towards her bed as she began her morning prayers, she expressed her thanks to God for the new day and for the blessings In her life. After thanking God, she prayed for grace throughout the new day before saying her Grace. After the short prayer, she got up from her bed, arranging it in an orderly manner, and heading to the bathroom to officially get the day started. The bath was short but refreshing, helping her stay cool for the day ahead. After
It happened so fast that she couldn't realize what had happened at first, only the strong hands that wrapped around her waist brought her mind back to realize she hadn’t been crushed by the car. Then who was holding her? Another question popped on her mind, though Her questions were answered as she slowly opened her eyes to see an all too familiar face standing inches away from her face again. Standing in front of her was the ever handsome and well sculpted Mr Black who was dressed in a blue velvet Armani suit with expensive jewelry to match. Grace is speechless as she stands still not responding to any thing, she was oblivious to the constant questions of concern coming from Me Black who still held her waist in place. “Are You Okay Ms Winters?”. She looked at him completely lost still, shock and surprise where two emotions that stuck on her as she looked at the beautiful creature, who was still looking at her with worry. She
A gentle tap on her face was enough for her to wake up from her sleep, She opened her eyes first adjusting it to her surroundings while her brain tried to compute where she was exactly. The black interior of what seem like a car and the voice of the person next to her was enough to make her realise she was still seated in his car, Mr Black's car, and From her head position--- She was rested on his shoulders. "I'm sorry". She spoke up immediately, Pulling herself away from him. She felt her body exposed a bit, so she bent her head to inspect the position of her top, and her eyes widened when she noticed it had risen up so much, it was just directly under her breasts. She tries to subtly adjust it, slowly holding the gem of the top to pull it down. Grace turned unconsciously to look at Mr Black whose eyes where directly on her. She looked down immediately, the skin under her eyes heating up. She insti
The cafe was calm, The scent of coffee filling the air, people made small chatters sipping on their coffees. Some focused on their works typing on their laptops or pads with a coffee cup at the side, occasionally sipping from it when tired. As everyone seemed busy in their own world either chatting with friends or working, Grace sat at a distant corner of the cafe lost in thoughts occasionally sipping on her coffee which she ordered not too long ago. She was seated at the corner of the cafe on a table for two, she had arrived a few minutes ago after collecting herself and mustering the courage to leave the Cemetery, take a bus and then head to the small cafe at her stop, though the fear still eminent in her mind. Grace was scared, like really scared. Her Mum's income were all they had, Her monthly income of 5,000 dollars was what was putting food on her table and a roof over her head. Though it was a small amount it was able
“Meredith was the love of his life”. Jason Said to her, before downing his Drink. Grace’s drink Dropped from her hand to the table, It’s content threatened to spill but with the distant being so near, it couldn’t. She ignored the Occurrence and fell back to her seat, much like an act of defeat, instead of the I test which Jason was Hoping and waiting for her to have. “Oh”, Jason heard her say, a one syllable word that left nothing more to question or understand. “Why did you ask?”, Jason asked her, He wanted to inquire, bit tried to be casual about it. “I have heard a lot, Just thought to know”. Grace said looking away, Her bright face had deemed and the most interesting thing was now her meal which she was hardly interested in. “Everyone tries to know, Mr Black is a man of Mystique,” Jason Tittered, “Much could be rumour, but there is always truth lying in between”. Jason said again. Grace looked up this time, She knitted her brow at him, She won
Ominous Pov The Sweet Shop was packed with employees, Mem and woman sat in pairs, Groups of Threes and fours, Some even merged tables together to form a group of eight as they chatted away, Grace surveyed the area as she walked in with Jason, She barely spotted a table at the very end with two Empty chairs, Perfect!. She thought. “There is a table with empty chairs, I think one of us should secure it while the other gets the meal, Hmm?”. Grace asked. “That isn’t a question, Text me your order, I’ll get it for you”, Jason said pushing her ahead. Grace wanted to object but Jason was pessimistic, she reached to open her purse but Jason immediately stopped her, “It’s on Me Grace!”. Grace shyly Dropped her purse. “Okay”. She managed to say before walking away . Jason made his way to the long unmoving line while Grace made her way to the seat. Grace sat down and dropped the contents in her hand on the table. She grabbed her phone and quickly texted her order to James, before dropping it
Work was exhausting, I had barely Arranged all the files assigned before the time was up, I was exhausted after the two hours was up. Emotionally drained, I managed to move away’ with the hefty documents, I took them from my desk and made my way to Ms. Denver’s office. Her Office felt more father than before, bit I knew it was my mind playing tricks. I Knocked twice, Before waiting for a ‘Come In’, But I heard none, Rather the Door opened and Gerard walked gracefully out after I stepped to the side. I turned towards his desk, I was confused and the look on my face confirmed it to him, “I didn’t see You Get up”. Gerard pouted, We were still standing at entrance of Ms. Denver’s office, “Well you seemed very invested in your worked..”, He narrowed his eyes at me, “And I don’t think I should report where I go to you huh?”. Stupid Me,!, “Sure, Well I should go drop this in”. I said and Gerard moved for me to enter. I quickly moved to Ms Denver’s table, I laid out the Files on her table
The Tour around Black Entertainment was simple and quick, We had successfully moved around the 22 floors of the huge building and were making our way back to Doris Denver’s office. “Thank you for the tour Miss Alex”, Louisa said politely, Miss Alex turned slightly and gave her a polite smile, from the corner of my eyes I saw Gerard roll his eyes to spite her. I said nothing. The elevator soon released a 'ding' sound and the doors opened ajar for us to pass through. We did not head for Mrs Denver’s office anymore, rather we passed through a door besides Mrs Denver’s office and found ourselves in a busy office of approximately fourteen people with two empty chairs. The office seemed to have been designed in sections that only added to the beauty and architectural intelligence on it’s designed, I gasped at the clean and seemingly healthy working environment. It matched up to the standard and name that came with Black Entertainment. “Gerard and Louisa , you both will work directly und
Doris Denver sat crossed legged on the Black wooden seat hidden behind the huge office desk at the centre. A slow jazz song played through the huge office and D.D moved her head slowly to the sound of the song while her eyes followed the pages of the file she was flipping in her hands. Two persons, A man and A woman both dressed in cooperate attire stood in front of the desk with their hands both folded to the back. Grace walked into the office with her tiptoe and her head first making sure not to make a noise. Once in, She tried closing the door gently behind herself, but that was a huge fail. Her plan to be discreet was a fail as the door made a creek sound once it connected to the wall. The eyes of the three persons in the room immediately turned to face her. D.D who was reading a file closed it up and placed it on the table before pulling her glasses and placing it on the table. “Welcome Miss Win
The scent of lavender filled Grace’s nostrils as she stepped into the office. The office was similar to Mr Black's office, it was Big and had a mix of all shades of Grey and Black, it was a calm office, one that seemed to resonate with the owner. The only pop of colour were the lavender Flowers that was situated at the four corners of the room. As Grace walked into the office, She immediately spotted Mrs Smart sitting upright on her chair behind her table with her arms crossed. Miranda looked a bit different from the first time Grace had seen her. Standing in front of her soon to be boss in such proximity and clearer mind, she was able to examine her soft features and hard exterior. Miranda was a beautiful middle aged woman, just like all the women Grace had seen earlier, she resonated her own beauty and was pretty in her skin. She had a bright glossy skin that complimented the dark velvet red gown and gold jewelry she had
Heading Back to Black Entertainment the next day felt nostalgic to Grace. The feeling of excitement mixed with fear and anxiety remained the same, like the first day she had walked through the huge doors of the building in hopes for a better life. Grace clutched on to the little blue file in her hand, one that contained the unprofessional CV she had managed to create after deciding not to cry again and finally searching on the internet as she wasn’t experienced in creating one. Grace’s eyes were puffy, and her naturally blue eyes were red, She had cried for the whole of the night only stopping when she remembered she had a job the next day. Grace stood In front of the huge building with a smile, Though she was scared inside, she decided not to tremble from it, rather, She put on a cool exterior and walked into the office. Grace partially knew her way around the company, She could remember some faces especially Jane a receptionist at the main lobby who
Chapter 39 “You’re here early, No calls from daddy I see”. A brown haired lady comments as she enters the room of the café. “Well the faster we get things moving, The better for us”. Rebecca said barely smiling. The woman sauntered into her seat which had been pulled over my a male waiter, who threw both ladies a smile. “You’re coming home with me later “. Rebecca said winking at him. The waiter smiled more before heading out of the secluded room “Still a hoe huh?” The woman snarklily remarked. “And you’re always a pain in the ass,” Rebecca said raising her eyebrows, “But that’s not why we’re here”. Rebecca sat upright, crossed her legs over, she looked all around before speaking. “ It’s going too slow, The boy isn’t doing much, we don’t have enough time”. Rebecca's eyes wandered as she spoke. The woman took a whiff
Chapter 38 L’orange wasn’t too far from where she stood, a few turns to the left and she was standing face to face with the gigantic store that seemed too Porsche for her. Grace slouched her shoulders, taking in a huge breath as she stared through the transparent doors of the huge building. Women of all ages chatted inside while a group of ladies dressed in a particular style , black pencil skirt, white button dress suits , a blue silk scarf tied to the left, black panty hose and their hair braided neatly to a bun. They looked oddly similar, but very beautiful women. At first glance at the slightly taller one in the store that caught her attention, she could tell she was working there. Grace gathered herself, envelope in hand and her cross bag to the side, she walked her way inside with the help of a man in black suit one who she assumed to be a guard. She politely greeted the man however not earning a response ba
