Everything was coming together, Everything was starting to make sense, and slowly Grace felt she was getting back together too. Her mother's ear to ear smile was enough proof that she was okay, That they were okay too.
"I'm happy Mum," Grace chuckled "I really am". She pulled her mother in for another hug while she ran her hands over her back gently.
"I am too, We will be fine Grace, I promise''. Eliene pulled away, before kissing her forehead gently. Grace Gave her mother a toothy smile, While she returned it too.
Beep...
The sound of a notification on her phone snapped her out of her daze, She bent to reach for it, while her mum proceeded to take care of the kitchen.
Grace tapped the phone awake, she looked at it to see it was a missed call from Jason, She tapped the number calling him back.
What could be the problem..
Another Update Thanks for the support so far.
Jason sat at the same corner they sat the previous day . He had a loose white tee on , with some ripped denim to match, Grace couldn't see his shoes, but she expected a converse, same as he had dressed the previous day. As she walked further into the restaurant towards his table she watched him, as he sat quietly sipping his coffee, His phone placed loosely on his hands and his eyes fixed strongly on it while his thumb scrolled through the scrim slowly. His hair were in loose curls resting loosely on his eyes just directly on his lashes. As Grace walked closer to him she noticed the little bits of freckles scattered beautiful under his eyes. She smiled softly as she admired him from afar, and like telepathy he noticed her presence, turning a full 360 degrees to meet her eyes. Jason's face lit up as he saw her, He immediately covered the distance between them , his eyes raking slowly over her body before resting on her face. &
"We're here". It was a wake-up call from Jason , She looked around noticing they had stopped moving and were parked close to an ice cream truck that was situated at the other side of the road. Jason pulled over at the ice cream truck, He made sure the bike was secured then he stepped down first before helping Grace down the bike. He helped her remove her helmet before holding her hands gently and leading her over to the ice cream shop. The bus was packed and a good number of people gathered Infront of it all screaming orders or making complaints towards the old men who seemed to own the van, They managed to attend to the customers though it proved difficult, with how sweaty they were . They managed to walk towards the bus though it proved hard moving to the front, They both new they had to wait their turn. "I love Ice Cream", A smile Graced Her face, her eye
The ride back home was silent, only the sounds of engines and people's chatter as they drove along could be heard. Another distraction was the brown paper file that Grace held tightly between her arms . Grace had refused to speak about it or even speak at all. And Jason respected that . The ride ended fast, faster than they both expected, Especially Grace who was brought back to her senses when she felt that they weren't in motion anymore. They were relieved however as the awkwardness could be partially avoided. Grace helped herself down the motorbike one foot at a time not waiting for Jason's help. Once down she strode to the other side standing on the pavement a few feet away from Jason's bike. Jason removed his helmet first, he placed it on his laps before turning to meet her. He noticed her clushed hands and how tightly she held the brown file almost like her life depended on it, he looked at it suspicious, but m
"Don't leave me too". Grace heard him say before his head fell on her shoulder his weight pulling her to the ground on her knees. She held unto him tightly, not wanting him to fall, She turned towards the sofa calculating the possibility of her successfully carrying this man that was twice her weight to the sofa without tripping and she realised it wasn't much of a possibility, so she rested on the floor pulling her legs out in a sitting position while she rested his head on her leg. Grace watched him as he slept, She felt a tingling sensation in her stomach as he cuddled her waist wrapping his hands around it, while he continued sleeping. She wasn't sure what to do so she sat there watching him , she let him sleep and didn't ask questions, Grace just let him be. The wrinkles on his eyes were small stretching through his eyes, but he was handsome as ever even his sleep.. His hair was soft on her
Leonard Black February 12th The Brown door was the only thing keeping Leonard away from reliving the past he wished to forget, and the only thing keeping him sane, for what lies ahead might be bigger than he could phantom. He stood before the brown door, keys dangling in his right hands, his left hands shaking as he took a breather. Was he ready?, No!, but he couldn't help himself from standing in front of the door, and then opening it. So he did. He put the key in the key hole, watching it turn before the door opened to reveal a cobweb stricken room. The room was just how it had been 5 years ago, pastel pink walls, and a bed with pink sheets. Pink, her favorite color, He took a step into the large room, his eyes meeting a glowing letter on the end of the wall, The huge letter M written in thick pink Neon. He knew what that meant, he c
Hello Brother". Said a blonde hair lady dressed in milky white gown with a frown on her face. She got up from her seating position on the black sofa, taking catwalks to meet a pissed Leonard. "Hi brother, sorry for the surprise visit." Another lady said, with a black hair, casually dressed in jeans and a tee, a scared look on her face, he gave her a small smile watching her breath in, a bit calmer. "Your excursion's over I presume?". He asked warmly to his younger sister that was still a bit uncomfortable, he didn't blame her, the air was thick enough to cut through. She only gave him a slight nod, before exiting the room leaving him and the two ladies he wasn't ready to face yet.. It took a while before any words were spoken, as Leonard looked between the two ladies that sat at opposite sides of the room.
Grace stared at the objects scattered on the bed, she sighed unhappy. The brown file was empty so she set it aside while she stared at other contents that laid on her bed. She picked the one closest to her it was a white paper with her name written boldly on it. 'Appointment letter to work as an intern to Miranda Smart'. It read. Grace took a deep breath then she set it back down on the bed, Her eyes moved towards the white envelope next and she picked it up , She could tell it was heavy and could already tell its content without opening it. Nonetheless, She pryed into it, She flipped it open in one swift motion. The sight in front of her made her eyes open while the wards of cash arranged itself perfectly inside the envelope and the smell of new money hit her nose annoyingly. Grace dropped the envelope immediately but not before she noticed a small piece of paper which she picked, She read through it.
"No Mum they didn't". Grace managed to say making Eliene's smile to drop.''It's an interim position". " Intern?, You aren't experienced Grace how come?". Eliene knitted her eyebrows as she looked at Grace suspiciously. Grace avoided her eyes, She thought hard about what to say. Grace knew her mother , if she didn't provide an answer she wouldn't stop asking and if she told her about Mr Black, she wouldn't support it at all. She would at the very least hate it. So Grace did what she hated doing the most, She lied. "Jason Walker". She said without a stutter. Eliene's eyes lifted up, "What does he have to do with this?". "His aunt works in the firm, He was able to get me a job there". Grace said through gritted teeth. Forgive me Mr Black "Really Grace that's nice I'm so happy for you mi amor". Eliene pulled he
“Meredith was the love of his life”. Jason Said to her, before downing his Drink. Grace’s drink Dropped from her hand to the table, It’s content threatened to spill but with the distant being so near, it couldn’t. She ignored the Occurrence and fell back to her seat, much like an act of defeat, instead of the I test which Jason was Hoping and waiting for her to have. “Oh”, Jason heard her say, a one syllable word that left nothing more to question or understand. “Why did you ask?”, Jason asked her, He wanted to inquire, bit tried to be casual about it. “I have heard a lot, Just thought to know”. Grace said looking away, Her bright face had deemed and the most interesting thing was now her meal which she was hardly interested in. “Everyone tries to know, Mr Black is a man of Mystique,” Jason Tittered, “Much could be rumour, but there is always truth lying in between”. Jason said again. Grace looked up this time, She knitted her brow at him, She won
Ominous Pov The Sweet Shop was packed with employees, Mem and woman sat in pairs, Groups of Threes and fours, Some even merged tables together to form a group of eight as they chatted away, Grace surveyed the area as she walked in with Jason, She barely spotted a table at the very end with two Empty chairs, Perfect!. She thought. “There is a table with empty chairs, I think one of us should secure it while the other gets the meal, Hmm?”. Grace asked. “That isn’t a question, Text me your order, I’ll get it for you”, Jason said pushing her ahead. Grace wanted to object but Jason was pessimistic, she reached to open her purse but Jason immediately stopped her, “It’s on Me Grace!”. Grace shyly Dropped her purse. “Okay”. She managed to say before walking away . Jason made his way to the long unmoving line while Grace made her way to the seat. Grace sat down and dropped the contents in her hand on the table. She grabbed her phone and quickly texted her order to James, before dropping it
Work was exhausting, I had barely Arranged all the files assigned before the time was up, I was exhausted after the two hours was up. Emotionally drained, I managed to move away’ with the hefty documents, I took them from my desk and made my way to Ms. Denver’s office. Her Office felt more father than before, bit I knew it was my mind playing tricks. I Knocked twice, Before waiting for a ‘Come In’, But I heard none, Rather the Door opened and Gerard walked gracefully out after I stepped to the side. I turned towards his desk, I was confused and the look on my face confirmed it to him, “I didn’t see You Get up”. Gerard pouted, We were still standing at entrance of Ms. Denver’s office, “Well you seemed very invested in your worked..”, He narrowed his eyes at me, “And I don’t think I should report where I go to you huh?”. Stupid Me,!, “Sure, Well I should go drop this in”. I said and Gerard moved for me to enter. I quickly moved to Ms Denver’s table, I laid out the Files on her table
The Tour around Black Entertainment was simple and quick, We had successfully moved around the 22 floors of the huge building and were making our way back to Doris Denver’s office. “Thank you for the tour Miss Alex”, Louisa said politely, Miss Alex turned slightly and gave her a polite smile, from the corner of my eyes I saw Gerard roll his eyes to spite her. I said nothing. The elevator soon released a 'ding' sound and the doors opened ajar for us to pass through. We did not head for Mrs Denver’s office anymore, rather we passed through a door besides Mrs Denver’s office and found ourselves in a busy office of approximately fourteen people with two empty chairs. The office seemed to have been designed in sections that only added to the beauty and architectural intelligence on it’s designed, I gasped at the clean and seemingly healthy working environment. It matched up to the standard and name that came with Black Entertainment. “Gerard and Louisa , you both will work directly und
Doris Denver sat crossed legged on the Black wooden seat hidden behind the huge office desk at the centre. A slow jazz song played through the huge office and D.D moved her head slowly to the sound of the song while her eyes followed the pages of the file she was flipping in her hands. Two persons, A man and A woman both dressed in cooperate attire stood in front of the desk with their hands both folded to the back. Grace walked into the office with her tiptoe and her head first making sure not to make a noise. Once in, She tried closing the door gently behind herself, but that was a huge fail. Her plan to be discreet was a fail as the door made a creek sound once it connected to the wall. The eyes of the three persons in the room immediately turned to face her. D.D who was reading a file closed it up and placed it on the table before pulling her glasses and placing it on the table. “Welcome Miss Win
The scent of lavender filled Grace’s nostrils as she stepped into the office. The office was similar to Mr Black's office, it was Big and had a mix of all shades of Grey and Black, it was a calm office, one that seemed to resonate with the owner. The only pop of colour were the lavender Flowers that was situated at the four corners of the room. As Grace walked into the office, She immediately spotted Mrs Smart sitting upright on her chair behind her table with her arms crossed. Miranda looked a bit different from the first time Grace had seen her. Standing in front of her soon to be boss in such proximity and clearer mind, she was able to examine her soft features and hard exterior. Miranda was a beautiful middle aged woman, just like all the women Grace had seen earlier, she resonated her own beauty and was pretty in her skin. She had a bright glossy skin that complimented the dark velvet red gown and gold jewelry she had
Heading Back to Black Entertainment the next day felt nostalgic to Grace. The feeling of excitement mixed with fear and anxiety remained the same, like the first day she had walked through the huge doors of the building in hopes for a better life. Grace clutched on to the little blue file in her hand, one that contained the unprofessional CV she had managed to create after deciding not to cry again and finally searching on the internet as she wasn’t experienced in creating one. Grace’s eyes were puffy, and her naturally blue eyes were red, She had cried for the whole of the night only stopping when she remembered she had a job the next day. Grace stood In front of the huge building with a smile, Though she was scared inside, she decided not to tremble from it, rather, She put on a cool exterior and walked into the office. Grace partially knew her way around the company, She could remember some faces especially Jane a receptionist at the main lobby who
Chapter 39 “You’re here early, No calls from daddy I see”. A brown haired lady comments as she enters the room of the café. “Well the faster we get things moving, The better for us”. Rebecca said barely smiling. The woman sauntered into her seat which had been pulled over my a male waiter, who threw both ladies a smile. “You’re coming home with me later “. Rebecca said winking at him. The waiter smiled more before heading out of the secluded room “Still a hoe huh?” The woman snarklily remarked. “And you’re always a pain in the ass,” Rebecca said raising her eyebrows, “But that’s not why we’re here”. Rebecca sat upright, crossed her legs over, she looked all around before speaking. “ It’s going too slow, The boy isn’t doing much, we don’t have enough time”. Rebecca's eyes wandered as she spoke. The woman took a whiff
Chapter 38 L’orange wasn’t too far from where she stood, a few turns to the left and she was standing face to face with the gigantic store that seemed too Porsche for her. Grace slouched her shoulders, taking in a huge breath as she stared through the transparent doors of the huge building. Women of all ages chatted inside while a group of ladies dressed in a particular style , black pencil skirt, white button dress suits , a blue silk scarf tied to the left, black panty hose and their hair braided neatly to a bun. They looked oddly similar, but very beautiful women. At first glance at the slightly taller one in the store that caught her attention, she could tell she was working there. Grace gathered herself, envelope in hand and her cross bag to the side, she walked her way inside with the help of a man in black suit one who she assumed to be a guard. She politely greeted the man however not earning a response ba
