Vivian POV

I hung up as soon as the words left my lips as I smiled in satisfaction.

This was just the beginning, he was yet to see more of the new Vivian he never knew. Quickly, I slid my phone back into my pocket and texted Sofia but just then, another text message arrived and surprisingly it was from Max's father.

" Come to the dinner night tommorow at the family's house, 5pm, Expecting you dear Vivian" I read out loud the message, blinking numerously if I was actually seeing right.

Was it that Max hadn't told his father that we were already Divorced or was Mr Norman feigning ignorance? I couldn't help but get smeared with confusion and curiosity. I knew Max's father would not want the marriage between I and Max to end but then, if Max had brought Ruth to the house, it could only mean the family all knew he had taken in back his first love and plans on marrying her. I shook my head, shoving the thoughts away as it was already giving me enough headache. For a twenty four years

Max POV "What are you doing here Max?" She snapped as soon as she saw me, it was clearly obvious she was displeased by my presence but that was the least of things that mattered to me at the moment. I walked closer to where she stood with her best friend, whose expression seemed displeased as well. Arranging my cap to cover up my face very well from recognition, I stopped just two inches away in front of them. "Come with me Vivian, it's important" I went straight to the point, I was a straight forward person and didn't like beating around words. "And why should I do that Max? The last business we had was signing the divorce papers" She thundered and for a second, I was taken aback by her sudden brevity. Vivian wasn't someone to lash out bitterly and I wondered if the Divorce had brought out all these hidden part of her. As interesting as it seemed, I still felt a part of me wreck with guilt. "Vivian I ----" "Don't you even dare utter my name with those lips again Max. Do

Vivian POV Everything happened so fast as the car zoomed fastly on the road with two other car following closely behind. I had struggled to go free but it only came on deaf ears so I relaxed in silence in the car, allowing him take me to wherever pleased him as I stared out of the window of the car, from a corner, I could feel his eyes on me but I cared less, totally ignoring his presence. "Vivian" He called yet I kept mute to his calls, letting the cool breeze wash my face until he suddenly pulled me roughly away from the window, turning me to face him. " Can you fucking let go of me Max?! What do you want from me again!" I yelled in the car, not minding the presence of his driver who stared at us from the rear mirror. " Put on ear pods Ray" He ordered his guard that drove us who obeyed instantly and inserted two white pods in his ears as Max turned to face me fully this time, our faces dangerously close to each other as I struggled not to register his handsome face in my head

Vivian POV The tension in the car suddenly became stiff as I stared at Max as if he had developed another head. Indeed, he might have developed another head because how could he be as shameless as he was right now. " Are you sure you're alright Max?" I asked in between mixed feelings and he smirked, adding perplexity to my already confused mind. "Why? You think I'm acting strange wifey?" He replied, suddenly pulling away from me as he arranged his shirt and settled back to his seat like he hadn't been flirtatious with me a while ago. "You have Ruth, a very beautiful and smart woman at home so I don't understand why you think doing this is--" " It's the very best for us now Vivian because we'll be doing more than just that once we arrive at our destination, so be prepared to see more of this sweet side of me dear wife" He cut in sharply on my words, irritating my emotions. I hated my poor heart for still beating for this lunatic beside me, I just wanted to hate him. "I'm not

Vivian POV "What do you mean by that. My Mom has absolutely nothing to do with your antics!?" I sneered quickly at him. One thing I hated was someone using my mom's vulnerability for something flimsy. I wouldn't tolerate anyone who does that and he wasn't an exception. "She has nothing to do with it if you accept it. " "Are you threatening me Max?" I asked and he smiled. " I'm not. I just want you for a month. Marry me for a month Vivian and after father hands over the asset to me, we'll both Divorce, I promise" He asserted, looking at me intently. "I settled her surgery Bills and will also have her moved to a different hospital for more proper treatment Vivian" "So it was you all along. One of your schemes to get me into your deal right?" I asked, not believing my ears especially at the fact that I had thought it was a good Samaritan that had paid off my mom's surgery Bills. "Did you think fifty thousand dollars could get your Mom treated?" He asked and I arched my brows

Vivian POV My hands grazed through the walls of the long passage, the flashes of the last time I had come here stormed my memory. It was the day I had gotten married to Max, I could still remember the familiar scent of the rich wall paints. This place brought back memories, memories I didn't want to recall. In this same house, I had my first night with Max until he started accusing me of infidelity, being a whore and a sex maniac who couldn't be satisfied with one man. I had accepted all those accusations then knowing that it wasn't what I was after all and there was no point arguing, I left him to believe whatever he thought I am and as to that, he concluded that I had accepted all his false claims since I didn't retort back or disagree to his accusations and ever since then, I had became a mute wife. The only thing I was satisfied about was the fact that Max wasn't flirting with women, he was reserved not until Ruth came back and he started staying late nights and taking excessi

Vivian POV "We really didn't Divorce Dad, you got the wrong information this time around" Max answered with a firm tone as he pulled me along to one of the cushion in the room. I could still feel his mother's gaze on every of my movements but I managed to still myself as we gently sat down. "Hmmm, that is a surprise and a good thing for you Max" Mr Norman chimed, smiling. " That is if only they aren't faking it Dad, your first son is very good at acting you know that" Daniel said, making the tension in the room become even more stiff. I felt Max clench his fists beside me and I knew if probed any further, there was going to be real fight soon and everything might mess up; that was exactly where his brother was pressing but I wouldn't let it happen. I am not doing it for Max, I am only doing it because I hated hypocrites like them. Max was absolutely way better than his brother in terms of character, not to talk of his famous flirtatious lifestyle that was known all over the c

Vivian POV My lips hung open in shock at the sudden question, my heart raced with trepidation. Never, never had Max's mother ever spoken to me or spoke about me but the very first words that came off her lips was totally against me. "Vivian is not Barren Mom, we'll only have a baby when we are ready simple!" Max felt offended. There was this tension between him and his mother that felt so unrelatable. Something that seemed like Max wasn't in good terms with his Mom and it obviously seemed shw was against him. Now I realize why Max was closer to his father and obeyed every words of his. "I really hope so too dear Max" She replied, sneering at me heavily. I tugged Max at his hands, wrapping my arms around his neck and instantly planted a kiss on his cheeks with smiles " Don't worry honey, she's only worried she might not get to see her grandchildren, don't think too much of it" I said to Max with sarcasm and that had ignited a blazing fire as she instantly stood up and flared at m

Vivian POV I couldn't help but narrate every single event to Sofia over the phone and when the call had ended, Max was already up, with his gaze fixed intently at mine. Wait, I thought he was sleeping? " I heard all that you know. You would make a good Author Vivian" He said as he stood up and walked towards me. His steps slow and steady but dangerously mysterious. I recognized his advances. No, I wouldn't let him this time around if that's what he wants. I moved back away sharply but before I could even reach for the door, he grabbed me and instantly whirled me around to face him, my back gently slammed against the door itself and his two hands trapping me in between. "What are you doing Max, get off me" I tried to push him off from me but he pinned my two hands to the side, holding them firmly from performing any struggle further. He inched closer, our faces inches apart " You're really attractive, you know that right?" He asked against my earlobes, giving it tiny thingy

The final Blow. The courtroom was filled with tension, the air thick with anticipation. Max stood at the back, his eyes sharp, scanning the room as the defendants were led in. Ruth, Hannah, and Alexander, each appearing cold and composed, but Max could see the cracks forming beneath their facades. Their time had come. The gallery was filled with spectators, reporters, and those affected by the heinous crimes that had been committed. The seats were packed, yet there was a stillness that enveloped the room as the doors opened, and the accused were escorted to their designated seats.Max stood quietly, the weight of the entire process settling on his shoulders. He wasn’t just here to see them convicted; he was here to make sure the truth was brought into the light. The truth that had been hidden for so long. The truth that had torn apart so many lives, including his own.The courtroom had a sterile atmosphere—cold marble floors, high wooden ceilings, and the buzz of murmurs filling the a

But tonight wasn’t just about control. Tonight was about ending this.Ruth, Hannah, and Alexander had played their twisted games for far too long. They had destroyed lives, ripped families apart, and forced Vivian into years of torment. It was time they faced the consequences.Max stood in front of a dimly lit table, the blue glow from the monitors casting reflection over his sharp features. The private estate security footage played in front of him, a slow feed of a place that would soon become the stage for their downfall.Ray stood beside him, arms crossed, his expression hard. “Are you sure about this?”Max didn’t glance at him. “It’s the only way.”Ray exhaled, nodding. “Then let’s go over it again.”The setup wa

Back at the suite, after Max had dropped off the little girl he saved earlier in the hospital to tend to her and also make inquiries about her parents, Max carried Emma inside, gently laying her on the bed. She stirred slightly, her lashes fluttering, but exhaustion kept her under.Vivian brushed a hand over her daughter’s hair, tears threatening to spill. “My baby…”Max exhaled, rubbing a hand down his face. “She needs to rest. And so do you.”Vivian turned to him, eyes flashing. “How can I rest? Max, she was taken! If you hadn’t found her, if you hadn’t—” Her voice cracked, and she pressed a hand to her lips.Max closed the distance between them in two strides, gripping her arms. “But I did find her.” His voice was low, firm. “And I won’t let it happen again.”Vivian looked up at him, searching his face. “Ruth won’t stop.”His expression darkened. “Neither will I.”A heavy silence stretched between them.Vivian’s breath was shaky as she stepped closer, pressing her forehead to his c

The dim light of Max’s computer screen was the only source of light in the room, casting sharp shadows over his face as he stared at the footage playing in front of him. His hands were clenched into fists, his jaw locked so tightly it ached. The moment Emma had gone missing, he had known something wasn’t right. And now, he had proof. On the screen, the tiny, barely noticeable footage from Vivian’s earrings played. It was a risk he had taken, secretly placing a micro CCTV camera on them before leaving. He hadn’t told her—not because he didn’t trust her, but because he didn’t trust the world around her.And now, that paranoia had paid off.A grainy, shadowy figure moved into the hotel room. The timestamp showed it was mere minutes before Vivian woke up and found Emma gone. The man was fast, calculated—he knew exactly where to go.Then, for a split second, his face was caught in the reflection of a mirror.Max froze the footage and zoomed in. His blood ran cold.Damian Cross.A ghost fro

The phone call ended with a cold finality, the kidnapper’s warning ringing in Vivian’s ears. Her breath came in shallow bursts, her fingers clenched around the phone so tightly that her knuckles turned white. Her world had shrunk down to a single, terrifying truth—Emma was in the hands of a monster, and she had to get her back. Alone.Vivian fought the urge to collapse. She couldn’t afford to fall apart. Emma needed her to be strong. Her eyes darted around the park, scanning for any sign of the man who had spoken to her moments ago, but he had vanished into the trees, blending into the shadows like a ghost. There was no one to follow, no immediate threat, just the suffocating silence pressing against her chest.Vivian forced her trembling legs to move, stumbling back toward her car. Her mind was already working at a frantic pace. The kidnapper had told her to come alone, no police, no Max. But how could she face this alone? She had no weapons, no plan, nothing but the desperate love o

  • Mr Billionaire Husband Regrets Divorce   Chapter 106

Vivian woke up to the soft morning light filtering through the blinds. She knew Max had left and her body ached, a pleasant reminder of the night before, of the fire that had burned between her and Max. But as her eyes fluttered open, a sense of unease crept up her spine. The bed beside her was empty, the sheets slightly tangled as if Max had gotten up in the early hours of the morning. She pushed herself up on her elbows, glancing around the room. She couldn’t hear Emma’s usual morning giggles or the sounds of her little feet padding across the floor. The silence was unnerving, too quiet for a house that normally buzzed with life, even if it was just the two of them. Her heart sank as she pushed the covers off and swung her legs over the side of the bed. She had been so caught up in the heat of the moment with Max that she hadn't thought about Emma. In the past, Emma's early morning wanderings were never a cause for concern, but today, something felt different."Emma?" Vivian called

The house was quiet, save for the soft hum of the refrigerator in the kitchen. Emma had fallen asleep quickly, her small body curled up beneath the covers, her peaceful expression a welcome contrast to the chaos of the past days. Vivian had kissed her goodnight, her heart heavy but full, before slipping silently out of the room.Max was waiting in the living room, his presence unmistakable even before she stepped through the door. The dim light from the lamps cast reflection over his face, making him look like a man on the edge—intense, brooding, and yet somehow still impossibly magnetic.Vivian hesitated for a moment, her pulse quickening at the thought of being alone with him again. She had never imagined things would unfold like this, never expected the intensity of the emotions that had resurfaced between them. The spark between them was undeniable, but so were the complications. So many unspoken truths, and still so much left to face.Max didn’t speak right away, but his eyes fol
