Lilian POV

For a moment, I didn't believe that Jensen had actually spoken those words at that moment. I was looking at him, trying to figure out what was wrong with him because he was being so inconvenient to Finn, humiliating him just because the police officer was a poor man.

I looked at him, feeling bad about it. “Why are you doing this?” I whispered, feeling embarrassed.

“Is this serious, Lilian?” Finn asked, visibly uncomfortable.

“This is serious,” Jensen responded, ignoring me. “You’re not on her level. So all this is nothing more than something vain. You are only wasting your strength and resources, my dear friend.”

“Jensen, please stop it,” I asked, feeling bad for Finn.

“You really have a fine touch,” Finn said to me, looking a little disillusioned. “But I had no idea you could be this rich.”

“I’m not rich, Finn. At least not anymore,” I said, correcting him. “I already said that my parents went bankrupt, and there was nothing left of my past.” That one I said

Lilian POV When the food arrived, then he could eat. Honestly, he was complaining while eating because he wasn't satisfied with that food, which was the cheap and fast food. “This is definitely not healthy,” he said as I stuffed his mouth full of burgers. “Don't look at me like that,” he said. I shrugged. “I’m not looking at anything.” “Yes, you are looking. You’re looking at me like you’re going to scold me because I am judging your boyfriend,” he replied. “But am I not right to judge? What kind of man is this who takes you to fast food for a date? Is he so poor that he even couldn’t afford a proper restaurant?” He snorted and stuffed chips into his mouth. “That's definitely the last thing I care about, and he's not my boyfriend,” I replied to him, and I drank my juice. “Of course the last thing you cared about, since you were always so humble with everything and everyone. But enough about charity,” he said, and he drank his beer. “But then? Do you already have a ful

Lilian POV That night, when I got home, my triplets were already asleep. I was feeling a little unwell, so I took them all to sleep with me in my bed. I did that whenever I felt alone or when I was in those blue moments. Not only that, but I was feeling terrible now, maybe because I had just seen Jensen, and we had talked about things that happened in the past, and on the way back here, I kind of ended up thinking about things that happened that time. Now I find myself downcast. My babies were warm and cozy. I placed them all in front of me while lying down and put my arm around their bodies, protecting and hugging them, so I could sleep safely. “I want to be at peace with you, Lilian…” I remembered Jensen’s words when we were still at Milo’s. He wanted peace... He wanted all the resentment and remorse between us to end and for us to be at peace. What could that mean to me after everything he put me through? Yes, I no longer had a grudge against him because I didn't think he

Lilian POV I literally didn't believe it when Ruby told me that. Was Jensen Grimes at my home that early in the morning? And what was he doing here? Didn't he talk about everything he had to talk about last night? So what was his intention to come here to my house again, especially at this time of the morning? I was so shocked that I didn't even remember to put on suitable clothes since, like the children, I was still in my pajamas. So I went to the living room to ask him what he was doing in my house at this time. Jensen was playing with the boys, the kids had even forgotten the pancakes they spent the whole morning asking me to make. Now their breakfast was still there on the table, forgotten by them, as their new attraction had just arrived. I couldn't really explain why the hell the kids liked this man so much. Maybe it should be the father-child bond speaking loudly to them since, even though they didn't know it yet, Jensen was their biological father. Now the boys were

Lilian POV I was surprised by how excited the kids were about it. With the help of the nanny, they got ready while I prepared the picnic basket. I decided to take sandwiches, fruits, sweets, cakes, juices and soft drinks. I brought enough food because I knew the children loved to bite into something all the time. At that moment, when I was preparing the food basket and the children were in the room with the nanny, Jensen was sitting on my sofa, throwing some indiscreet glances in my direction. “Umm, I'll warn you, Mr. Billionaire. If you think this won't take long, I'm sorry to tell you that you are very mistaken,” I told him as I made the sandwiches. “There are three children with a lot of energy, so it takes a whole preparation process just to do something as simple as going to the park with him.” My lines were ironic. Taking care of three kids was not easy at all, it was far from it, in fact. I really had no time for almost anything. He was just chuckling and shaking his hea

Lilian POV “Jensen, I present to you April Monroe, my best friend. April, this is Jensen Grimes, my ex-husband,” I said, formally introducing them to each other. “Wow! That was totally unexpected... Like, what the heck?” she stammered, taking a few steps back in shock, and then grabbed my elbow and pulled me into the kitchen. “Girl, was that the man you married?” She sighed, completely frantic. “Yes, it was him,” I shrugged. “And why the hell did you divorce him?” She was freaking out. “He’s just a pretty face, okay? He's nothing but an asshole,” I said, playing with a strand of my hair. "Okay. But, I mean... Girl, for a guy like that, I would be tempted to let it go, you know?” She giggled. “Pretend I don’t see anything and stuff.” She elbowed me lightly in the arm. “What a hottie guy, honestly…” she melted as she looked at Jensen with a face of anguish. “Besides, he’s filthy rich,” I told her with a laugh. My friend almost passed out at the revelation. “Good heavens!

Jensen POV I was still entranced as I looked at the triplets and interacted with them. God in heaven, those children were so incredible that they made me have such an indescribable feeling. What I was currently experiencing was the same as a dream. I mean, two days ago I was all unhappy with no good prospects in life, trapped in the bad decisions I made in the past, totally regretful and ashamed of myself, but then I was lucky enough to meet Lilian again and with her these three wonderful children. It really felt like a dream, or one of those alternative realities I kept imagining, where I would have found Lilian and she would have forgiven me. In these imaginations of mine, I always remembered her with a child because I never forgot that she was pregnant when we separated, but I would never imagine that the truth was that she had given birth to not just one, but three babies, which tripled my happiness. Phillip, my friend, didn't believe me. He thought I was sinking into a momen

Jensen POV “So, Mr. Grimes,” the girl who was my ex-wife's friend began to say. “Does that mean you decided to spend a few days’ break in Rustburg?” She asked while looking at me with a completely suspicious look. She was sitting in the armchair a few meters away from me in the humble living room of Lilian's house, while we were all waiting for my ex-wife to get ready so we could go to the park outside and spend the day. April had that look of suspicion as she looked at me, as if she were treating me with caution, suspecting that at any moment I would do some harm to her friend and the triplets. I nodded to her question. “This place is quite nice to take a few days off, away from all the noise of Richmond,” I replied, and she nodded, still cautious. “From what I know, billionaires prefer to spend their holidays in more luxurious and busy places than a simple small town in the countryside where even their black card won't work,” she commented, hinting that she hadn't believed I

Lilian POV I couldn't deny that I had felt a little uncomfortable because of Philip's words, he had already started lecturing Jensen and saying that he was doing something stupid for being here spending an afternoon with me and the children as if he was doing something wrong. I was uncomfortable, yes. I couldn't just deny it and say no, but I still greeted him. “Hi, Philip.” I hadn't seen him in a while. He had been friends with Jensen for a long time, and of course we knew each other from Richmond. He looked at me, a little disconcerted. “Hi, Lilian…” he stammered, and then looked at Jansen. “Can we talk alone, please?” He asked. Jensen sighed and then looked at me as if he was annoyed by Philip's presence there. “Can't you see I'm at leisure, Philip? If you are so important to me to say that you even had to come here to upset me?” he asked in a harsh voice. “Precisely for that reason. Have you forgotten that we came here for work?” Philip asked Jensen. For work? So Jens

Sadie POVThe wedding party was incredible. Everything seemed like something out of a fairy tale. The lights, the soft sound of music, people's laughter... It was as if everyone there was having the best day of their lives. I was busy, as always, taking care of the triplets. Ruby, Rory, and Ryan were so excited, running around.“Ms. Lilian, they are running again!" I warned, trying to keep my voice controlled, but she just smiled. “Sadie, you're doing an amazing job. Just relax a little and enjoy the party too, okay?”I nodded but remained attentive. Working for Mrs. Lilian was more than just a job. I liked them like they were my family. But that night, something different happened. As I ran after Ryan, who was trying to reach one of the sweets on the dessert table, I noticed a boy looking at me. He was standing on the other side of the room, with a smile that seemed a little shy and full of curiosity. He wasn't much older than me, maybe my age, or close to it.I felt my face heat up

Lilian POVMy hand instinctively rested on my 9-week-old's belly as I admired the party. The dance floor was an organized chaos. The colored lights flashed over everyone, reflecting on the polished floor, while children ran from side to side, trying to imitate the adults' steps. Ruby led the steps, spinning with a smile of pure joy, and Rory tried hard to follow, imitating everything she did but with exaggerated animation. Ryan, of course, was in his own world, doing acrobatics and improvised dance moves with his arms raised as if he were preparing for a big show. "Ms. Lilian, have you ever thought about signing them up for a dance group?" Sadie commented from beside me, smiling as she watched the three of them. “If I can convince them to rehearse and behave at home, maybe,” I replied, with a soft smile. "Or at least Ryan," Sadie added, watching the boy with an amused expression. "He definitely seems like he has uncontrollable energy." “No doubt,” he said, laughing. "But it's

Lilian POVI was in the bridal room, holding hands with April, watching her with a look full of affection and admiration. She looked stunning in her wedding dress, with the veil delicately falling over her shoulders and the radiant smile that only she had. I felt a pang in my heart. We were there, together, in that special moment, but there was a touch of melancholy in her words."I really hoped you and Jensen were getting married too," April said, her eyes shining with a mix of joy and sadness. "You know, how we agreed... on Christmas Eve, together... I dreamed about this so much."I knew that the episode in Rome had ruined a lot of what we had planned. All of us, April, Phillip, Jensen and I, had been arguing for years about how much it would mean to get married together, but life had other plans. I wanted to say something to comfort her, but the words didn't come easily. Instead, I hugged her tightly."I know, honey. I know... But you and Phillip are here, and that's what matters r

Jensen POVIn the last few days, my routine has completely changed. After work, I went straight to Lilian's house. I went there for the kids and also because being there gave me a sense of normalcy that I hadn't felt in years. Something about seeing the three of them running around the room, laughing and fighting, brought me a peace I didn't even know I needed. When I parked that afternoon, Ruby was the first to greet me. She opened the door before I even knocked, as if she knew I was there. "You're here, Daddy!" he exclaimed, jumping into my arms with so much energy that I almost lost my balance. "I'm here, my sunshine," I replied, laughing and lifting her into the air. "How was your day?" "Well... but Rory ate almost all of Mom's cookies, and now she's mad at him." "Really? Is he hiding again?" Ruby nodded with a knowing smile and pointed down the hall. "There in the room. I think he knows what he did wrong." Ryan appeared soon after, crossing his arms like a little ju

  • Mr. Billionaire Claims Me Back    133. Let's do it again

Kate Nash POVThe door to my house slammed behind me with such force that it made the entrance frame rattle. The sound echoed, accompanying the throbbing in my head. I was on the verge of a breakdown. Jensen had dared to reject me once again, as if I meant nothing. I hurried across the room, throwing my bag on the couch, not caring where it landed. The normally spotless space felt oppressive at that moment. It all felt like a reminder that despite all my effort, nothing was working as it should. The bar was my immediate destination. My hands shook as I reached for the bottle of whiskey. The golden liquid glistened in the lamplight, almost mocking me. "After everything I've done," I muttered as I poured the alcohol into the crystal glass. The feeling of failure was suffocating. From the beginning, my goal was clear: to get Lilian away from Jensen and make sure he finally saw that I was the only one for him. But he remained blind, trapped in a ridiculous idea of morality and loy

  • Mr. Billionaire Claims Me Back    132. I just want her and no one else

Jensen POVDriving home after talking to Lilian was like going through a storm. My hands on the steering wheel were tense, and my thoughts were a mess. I respected her decision, but that didn't mean it was easy to accept. I still loved Lilian deeply, and the idea that she no longer saw us as a couple cut me to the core. As soon as I got home, I threw my keys on the counter and sat on the couch for a moment, trying to collect my thoughts. Lilian needed space, and I would do whatever it took to give her that. But giving up on her? Never. After a few minutes, I went up to my room. All I wanted was a hot shower and the chance to erase this day from my mind, even if just for a few hours. But as soon as I pushed the door open, I stopped in place, my entire body tense. "Kate?" My voice was low, but filled with disbelief. She was lying on my bed, wearing nothing but red lace lingerie, clearly waiting for me. His smile was calculated, almost predatory. "Hi, Jensen," she said, her voice

Lilian POVThe garden was silent, but my mind was anything but. Jensen was sitting next to me, visibly excited today after my talk with Finn."Good God, that guy doesn't get real, right," he was commenting. "Why doesn't he realize straight away that he's never going to have anything to do with you? You don't even like him, he acts desperate, he even went so far as to lie that he was the father of the baby you're expecting. See if he can do that!" He laughed with a shrug, as if he finally felt like he had the upper hand now."Well, you've also done a lot of crazy things to be able to be with me," I reminded him. Jensen wasn't innocent, right? He had done so much to have me in his control. I still vaguely remembered Rustburg...He was giggling awkwardly now. "You're right, Lilie. I did a lot, yes, but it was all because I always knew you loved me, that's why you never gave up." He looked at me with a charming smile. "That's why to this day I don't give up on you."I sighed, feeling the

Lilian POVAfter the children left for school, the house became calmer, but no less tense. Jensen went to the living room, playing on his cell phone, while Finn remained in the kitchen, finishing his coffee. I knew that conversation with Finn couldn't be postponed. The time was now. I took a deep breath before calling him, “Finn, we need to talk. Can it be in private?” He looked up in surprise and hesitated for a moment, but then nodded. “Of course, Lilian.” I led him to the back garden, where the fresh air helped calm my nerves. I leaned against the porch railing as he stood a few steps away, hands in his pockets. “Finn,” I began, choosing my words carefully. “I want to understand why you lied to Jensen about the baby. Why did you say you are the father?” He looked away, clearly uncomfortable. He ran his hand through his hair before answering. “Lilian, I did this to protect you.” "Protect?" My voice was louder than I intended, and I crossed my arms, trying to remain calm.

Lilian POVThe bedroom door opened unceremoniously, revealing April with a cup of coffee in her hand and a curious expression. Jensen was sitting on the bed, his elbows resting on his knees, while I remained with my back against the headboard, trying to ignore the discomfort of the moment. “Am I interrupting?” she asked, tilting her head with a curious smile. “No,” I replied too quickly, adjusting my posture. “We were just talking.” "Talking?" She raised her eyebrows and took a sip of coffee. “Well, whatever it is, the coffee is ready. And yes, I made pancakes. You guys should get down before Finn eats everything.” “We're heading down,” Jensen replied before I could say anything. April nodded, but her gaze passed from me to Jensen, clearly registering the scene as something more than simple conversation. Before leaving, she added: “Don’t linger. You won’t want to miss the spectacle of Finn being himself.” When she left, Jensen sighed, running his hands through his hair.
