Luckily for Tasha, she knew where the Anderson mansion was located, as she had come here once or twice in the past with her husband.
“Tasha” Hazel approached her with a smile, about to hug her when Tasha extended her hand, signaling that she stops.
“I don't understand. Why are you here?” She asked, and Hazel clung to her arm.
“Let’s go in first, then I will explain everything to you.”
Tasha snorted as they hurried inside, and the place still had the same touch as before; she remembered the house was designed this same way a year ago.
“What are you doing in Coyle Anderson’s mansion?” Tasha went straight to the point; she just divorced her husband, who was Coyle’s best friend, so she didn't want to be anywhere close to Coyle as well.
“My wedding with Max was cancelled,” Hazel explained, and Tasha wasn't shocked; she had logged into the internet this morning and saw that Nady was married to Max instead, and that’s why she quickly requested to meet with Hazel because she needed explanations.
Though she never liked Max for Hazel, she still felt if Max wanted to marry someone else, then why Nady? They must have hurt Hazel a lot.
Hazel explained everything that had happened from the day she caught Max and Nady planning her murder till today. Tasha was left astonished by everything that had happened to Hazel in just a short while.
Tasha has been busy solving her personal problems as life had hit hard on her; she didn't even have time to come back to the country and attend her best friend’s wedding.
“I could help you with the divorce,” Tasha said at once; she was a lawyer and was very good at her job. Finally, she had escaped from her relationship, which she considered toxic, and also wanted to help her friend.
“I dont want a divorce,” Hazel pouted. Why will she ever leave a man who dotes on her and also claims to love her? At least she had to try to build an almost perfect home with him.
“I know Coyle Anderson; that man is so arrogant, and the most important factor in his mind is money. He will never care for a woman, so get that illusion out of your head." Tasha snorted; after all, her husband was no different from Coyle, seeing that they were best friends.
All they thought about was money and their business and were fond of neglecting their wives.
“How could you say so many things about him? Do you know him?” Hazel frowned.
"Remember, I once told you about my husband... I mean, my ex-husband’s best friend?” Tasha asked, and Hazel went into thought, How could she even forget the night before Tasha’s wedding? She spoke on and on about her husband’s best friend wanting to stop her marriage by giving her husband a business deal.
It was stupid, as they all thought it was kind that he was giving her husband a business deal, but that was not the case for Tasha, as the business deal was the reason she had to leave the country with her husband immediately after their wedding.
"Yes, what about him?" Hazel asked, and Tasha sighed heavily.
"It's Coyle, he is best friends with Ray," Tasha spouted and Hazel was surprised, as she never expected that. She was still trying to understand things when Tasha's voice brought her out of her trance.
“Maybe if I were in the country, you would have taken excellent care of me, and I wouldn't have lost my baby.” Tears formed in Tasha’s eyes; she could only blame two people for her miscarriage: her ex-husband and his arrogant best friend.
“I am so sorry." Hazel hugged her tightly as her eyes became sore, still not able to believe Tasha had lost her baby just weeks before labor.
“It’s fine; I don't want to talk about it, and I also don't want to be in a building owned by Coyle Anderson,” Tasha said, and Hazel raised a brow.
“He is my husband; it won’t be fair if you hate him.”
Tasha rolled her eyes. “It will be only fair if you hate him too; he and his best friend are the reason why I don't have my baby today.”
Hazel knew there was nothing she could say to change Tasha’s mind; she could only prove to her that Coyle was a good person.
“Did Ray accept to divorce you?” Hazel was confused. Ray loved Tasha so much. It could be seen that he was obsessed, so how could he easily accept a divorce from Tasha?
“I dont know, I signed the divorce papers and left them on the table. When he will be back from his stupid business trip, then he will sign it." Tasha snorted; she was still very angry at this moment and didn't even want to talk about it.
“I will make you coffee." Hazel smiled at her before she left for the kitchen, when Tasha followed her. Tasha leaned by the door before she said.
“You know I was not serious about you divorcing, Coyle, right?”
Hazel stared at her and nodded. Hazel knew Tasha was just in a bad mood and saying a lot of things.
“At least he is better than Max,” Tasha added before she had a look of regret.
“I wish I was here; I would have beaten the hell out of Nady. I can't believe she did that to you; I always told you your sister was a maleficent.”
Hazel chuckled and heard her phone ring from the sitting room; she hurried and noticed it was a call from Coyle.
“Hello?” She was a little excited that he called, seeing that he was upset this morning.
“It’s Jude; Mr. Anderson wants me to let you know that a designer will stop by the mansion shortly, so please be at home to welcome her." Jude transferred the message, and Hazel’s mood dampened; she was sad that he couldn't tell her that himself.
“Thanks,” Hazel responded.
Jude’s gaze moved to Coyle, who was feigning to be busy with work; he ended the call and walked closer to Coyle.
“I think she was sad,” he explained, and Coyle leaned back in his chair, resting his back.
“Get the car ready; let’s go visit my father-in-law” Coyle ordered with a devious smile.
Hazel walked back to the kitchen when Tasha asked, “Was it Coyle?”"Hmm," was Hazel’s brief reply before she served the coffee in two coffee cups.“And why do you look sad? Having a couple fight?” Tasha asked and was quick to stop Hazel from answering.“I don't want to hear anything about couples.”Hazel burst out in laughter before she decided to rub it in Tasha’s face. “Do you know how romantic business people are?” Hazel asked, and Tasha rolled her eyes.“I have to go see my parents or else they will cause a scene. Go tell your romance story to someone else.” Tasha hurriedly picked up her purse and car keys before she hurried to her car."Tasha,” Hazel called, but her crazy friend had already driven out.Meanwhile, at the St. Elusive restaurant, which was known for its tranquility and also privacy, Jude sat in one of the private ends as he sipped his wine and read the technology article, trying to make sure Coyle was on the right track about extending a partnership offer to Tradtec
Hazel walked down the stairs. The evening dress she wore was a vision of elegance and sophistication, crafted from a rich navy blue fabric that shimmered with every step she took. The gown hugged her curves in all the right places before cascading into a graceful train that trailed behind her like a midnight shadow. Her jewelry sparkled like captured starlight against her skin, drawing the eye with every movement. A delicate diamond necklace adorned her slender neck, its facets catching the light and scattering it in a dazzling display. Matching earrings dangled from her ears, framing her face and adding a touch of glimmer to her every expression.Hazel’s hair was a work of art in itself, styled into an intricate updo that showcased the graceful curve of her neck. Tendrils of hair framed her face, softening the lines of her features and adding a touch of whimsy to her otherwise polished look. A single jeweled hairpin nestled amidst the dark waves, adding a subtle touch of glamour to h
Staring at her reflection one more time in the mirror, she had a satisfactory smile. Hazel Jones had been searching for the perfect wedding dress for ages-something that was going to complement her fair skin and long black hair."It's so beautiful," her younger sister, Nady, said with an excited tone. The shop assistant could finally sigh in relief."We want two," Nady added, and this left Hazel confused. "Why?" she couldn't help but ask."For me," that was Nady's response."Sorry, Miss, but this is a limited collection, and it's the last piece we have," the shop assistant apologized, and Nady was about to lash out at her when Hazel butted in."Please go make the payments," she said, handing her card to the lady who happily left. Hazel could only throw a look at Nady before she went to the dressing room to slip out of the wedding gown. Nady stomped her foot angrily. "Stop giving me that judgy look; is it a crime if I want to look as beautiful as you?""We are not the same people, Nady
Hazel had spent two days in her bedroom; she cried and starved, still not able to believe that all this was happening to her.A knock came from the door, and their maid said, "Miss Hazel, your father requests that you come downstairs.""Get out," Hazel muttered; she didn't want to see their faces."He says it's an order," the maid added before leaving. Hazel walked down the bed and dragged her feet downstairs. Her mother was busy ordering the maids around as tomorrow was Nady's wedding to Max; even the guests weren't aware of such a twist."Hazel," her dad called from the patio, and she walked to him. Nady and her mom joined, and it was at this moment that she realized something was wrong."What happened?" She asked nervously, and her parents exchanged looks before her mother sat next to her."Are you angry with us?" Mrs. Jones asked, but Hazel didn't reply; they already knew the answer, so why ask her?"Of course she is angry," her father butted in. "That's why we decided to make it
Hazel stood before the patriarch; she was having a court wedding while Nady was walking down the aisle with the man she was supposed to marry; her parents weren't even present."Miss Jones," the old man next to her called; apparently he was the butler of the Anderson family and brought the wedding documents, which Mr. Anderson had already signed."He must have been so sick to show up," Hazel thought before a paper was shoved at her."Please sign the papers," he said, and she nodded and signed the documents. After all the procedures, she got into the black limousine with the butler."Mrs. Anderson, do you need water?" The butler asked while shoving the bottle of water at her. Mrs. Anderson. She wasn't yet familiar with that name, but now it belonged to her. Was it a privilege or a curse? She took the water and gulped it at once. "Are you a virgin?" The butler asked, and she splashed out all the contents in her mouth and coughed hard; her eyes had turned completely red as she stared a
Hazel had tried to understand what he meant by meeting his expectations; wasn't he supposed to be disappointed that it wasn't Nady he married?"It's so hard to understand people," she hissed, and decided to eat, as she was starving. When she was done, she picked up the dirty plates when a maid hurried to her. "I will take them."Hazel smiled at the maid, "It's fine, I will...""Please, Mrs. Anderson," the maid insisted in a pleading tone. Hazel let her do her job and returned upstairs to the bedroom she was earlier assigned to.She pushed the door open and found Coyle on the bed; he was now dressed casually, had glasses on, and was focused on reading a document."Umm," she stuttered, not able to create a word. Was she supposed to share the bedroom and bed with him?"Silly me, we are married," Hazel thought, but that was still not enough reason."If you are sleepy, then go to bed. Don't stay up on my accord; I will be quiet with my work," Coyle said, not shifting his gaze from the docu
The car parked in front of the Anderson's mansion, and Hazel was still in deep thought, trying to understand everything that was going on.Why was this man being nice with her, and why did he make her family believe that he was comfortable with the marriage when from the first day he wanted to marry Nady?"I have some urgent work at the office; you should go in." Coyle brought her out of her trance; the driver had already pulled her side of the door open, patiently waiting for Hazel to step down."Mr. Anderson,""Coyle," he corrected. Hazel was confused for some seconds before she got to understand that he wanted her to call him by his name, but that felt so wrong to her."Have a nice day." Hazel had to refrain from what she wanted to say; it was better than calling his name; they weren't so close. She hurried down the car and walked into the mansion. She was visited with the loud clattering sound of dishes from the kitchen."What's happening?" Hazel walked to the kitchen, where she f
Hazel served dinner while in deep thought. The old lady had made her promise to show up when she knew fully well that Coyle didn't want that."Why did I have to promise her?" She sighed heavily, and her gaze moved to the stairs. Coyle was all freshened up and walked downstairs. She got all nervous and stood there like some kitten."Where did the maids go to?" Coyle asked with a frown, Why was his wife the one making dinner and even serving it?"I didn't find them when I got back home," she answered, and he nodded in understanding; his grandma must have sent them away.He pulled out a chair and stared at her; this left Hazel confused. What was she supposed to do?"Have a seat," he stated, and her eyes bulged. He was Coyle Anderson, so how could he be pulling out a chair for her? She had been with Max, and he never found it necessary to make such small gestures."Thanks" Hazel sat before Coyle did the same and scanned the meal on the table. A smile curled on his lips when he realized hi
