He sighed heavily; he had told her not to do that anymore. “Good morning,” she smiled at him, and he nodded and sat down.
“From tomorrow, I will leave for work at 8am... So don’t wake up early again, okay?” He questioned, and she nodded; she just felt it wouldn't be right to let him leave for work without eating.
Once he was done, he opted to drop her by her workplace. "But I have work at 8am,” she explained, and a better idea came to his mind.
“Then we will drop by my office first; go freshen up fast.”
Hazel wondered why they would stop at his office; she didn't have any business there, but she didn't want to sound disrespectful.
She got freshened up and returned downstairs. “I am ready.”
They both got to his car before the driver took off; during the ride, Coyle was busy reading some articles when Hazel’s phone rang.
Hazel checked the caller, and it was Max; she never expected that he would ever call her. Her gaze moved to Coyle, whose gaze was on her phone.
“If you won’t pick it up, then please put it in silence,” he said, and she nodded apologetically; her call had interrupted his reading.
So she ended the call and placed her phone in silence till the car parked at the residential parking lot of the Anderson’s group; they got into the elevator meant for the president only.
"Wow,” the structure of the building amazed Hazel as they walked out of the elevator and headed to Coyle’s office.
She was even more amazed by Coyle’s office; it was big and also very professional, just like she had imagined it.
Hazel hurried to the glass window where she could see the city properly; the view was very beautiful.
She jolted a little when she felt Coyle’s hand wrapped around her waist; his lips were close to her ear before he whispered.
“If you love working, then why don't you work here instead?” If there was a possibility for him to keep seeing her face the entire day, then he would definitely grab it.
“I already have a job,” she answered nervously; she wasn't used to him being so close to her.
“I want to kiss you, can I?” He whispered again, and her palms became sweaty. Hazel thought, "he didn't ask me before kissing me last night, so why now?"
“I want to do a lot more." Coyle added, and she felt like bursting out in tears. What was she supposed to do? Push him away or just stand still.
A knock came from the door, and Coyle frowned. “Come in,” he said, and Hazel was shocked; their position wasn't proper, and she felt so embarrassed when she heard the door pushed open.
Jude’s eyes widened in shock when he saw his boss in such a position with his wife. “I... forgot something.” He turned to leave when Hazel pushed Coyle away; she hurried and picked her bag and ran out of the office.
Jude and Coyle stared at her in disbelief, not able to believe she could run that fast.
“You..” Coyle stared at Jude, who had an apologetic look. How was he supposed to know Hazel was here at this hour?
"Sir, I remember you told me you were going to take things slowly with her so she could learn to love you genuinely, so why..." He was saying when Coyle shot him a hard glare that made him forget his words.
“Ask the driver to take her to work,” Coyle ordered before he walked to his desk, still with a frown.

Hazel walked down the car and hurried in as she was a few minutes late. When she arrived at her cubicle, she found an enormous bouquet of roses.
“What’s this?” She was confused.
“It must be for Mia,” she thought, picked up the flower, and knocked at Mia’s office.
“Come in”
Hazel pushed the door and walked in. Mia sat there with her working glasses; there were a lot of documents before her that left Hazel confused.
“Good morning, Mia,” she greeted, and Mia nodded without lifting her head.
“This flower…” Hazel was saying when Mia’s gaze moved to her. She craned her neck to the side and sighed heavily.
“It’s for you; I don't know who had it delivered,” Mia explained, and Hazel shook her head at the negative; she didn't have anyone who could send her roses.
“Just go check the card; if it isn't yours, then throw it away." Mia had a frustrated tone; she spent the entire night trying to understand the conference she attended yesterday; she even had to read a lot of documents about Tradtech and watch a lot of technology news just so she could have a proper conversation with Coyle Anderson when next they met.
“Okay” Hazel returned to her cubicle and took out the card, which read.
“Good morning, Hazy.
My grandma told me roses mean beauty,
so this is for you, Damon.”
She felt disgusted and quickly threw the flower in the bin. “How could he?” she clenched her fist angrily.
“He is so annoying.” She massaged her temple when Mia walked towards her.
“Why did you throw away the flower? Wasn't it for you?” Mia asked, and Hazel nodded. Then she noticed Mia’s gaze was focused on her hands.
Hazel realized she hadn't taken off her wedding ring. “Umm, this,” she stuttered and took off the ring when Mia stared at her suspiciously.
“Hazel, we have a meeting now. So let’s go." Mia decided not to question her about her personal life; she knew Hazel has always been one to be secretive and never opened up.
Hazel had no idea about a meeting, but she picked up her bag and followed Mia as they got to the company car, which drove out.
Soon they arrived at Tradtech and walked into the building when Hazel whispered to Mia, “What are we doing here?”
“I am trying to break the bridge between me and Coyle Anderson; watch as I become his wife. This way, you could get yourself a big shot in the future with my tactics,” Mia answered with a chuckle before they walked to the receptionist.
"Hello, I am here to meet Mr. Sim." Mia said to the receptionist, who raised a brow confused, Do they just see anyone that easily?“Do you have an appointment?” the receptionist asked, and Mia rolled her eyes.“Of course, I won't just come here without an appointment." Mia snorted before she turned towards Hazel. “You had booked the appointment; tell her.”Hazel raised a brow. When did she book an appointment? Mia feigned a shocked look before she turned to the receptionist. “I don't want to believe my secretary didn't set an appointment; go on and check the appointment at 9 a.m.”The receptionist nodded and checked some information on the computer for a while before he stared at them. “Mrs. Drake?”Mia sighed heavily in relief before she turned to Hazel. “You are very lucky you booked an appointment, or else you would have lost your job,” she scolded, and Hazel was still in a lost state.“Please take the elevator to the second floor,” the receptionist explained before Mia hurried to
Max looked nervous but had to try to hide it. "I just wanted to say hello. I will leave now." Max took this opportunity to flee before it was too late."He wanted to..." Hazel was explaining when Coyle raised his hand, signifying that he didn't want to hear it; he trusted her and didn't need her to explain every one of her actions.Hazel's phone chimed a new message, and she checked to find it was a message from Mia, which read.[You should head back to the office; I have some affairs to handle with Coyle Anderson.]Her gaze moved to Coyle, who was busy on his phone; their gaze met before she glanced away."Are you angry that I took you away from work?" he asked, and she shook her head; she wasn't angry at all.Coyle stood up before he said, "Let's go; I will drop you off at work."Hazel didn't argue and followed him. Minutes later, she was back at the office and decided to summarize the documents Mia had given her, but she kept checking the time and Mia still wasn't back. This left h
It was already 7 p.m. and Hazel had spent more than an hour in the kitchen, so she walked to the bathroom to freshen up.Hazel could hear her phone keep ringing, so she wrapped a towel around her body and hurried to the bedroom and retracted her phone from her bag. It was a call from her dad, so she sighed heavily and connected the call."Hello father""Hazel, how are you doing?" He asked, and she knew there must have been a selfish reason he called; her dad has never called her to simply check up on her."I am fine, father.""Drop by the mansion tomorrow; let's have dinner tomorrow, okay?" He asked, and Hazel knew he would only throw hurtful words at her if she said no, no matter what; he was her dad, and she had to respect him."Okay, father, I will be there." Hazel answered before the call got disconnected; she dropped the phone on the bed and turned to return to the bathroom when her gaze met with Coyle's.Hazel got so nervous and was about to rush back to the bathroom when she sl
The next morning, Coyle didn't leave for work at 6 am as always; instead, he was still asleep at 6 am, and this got Hazel worried. She brought her face closer to him to see if he was okay or if he had a fever. "Do I get a good morning kiss this morning?” Coyle muttered, and her eyes widened in shock. She was about to step back when his hand wrapped around her neck and he pulled her closer.“Where is my kiss?” he questioned, and she swallowed the lump in her throat. Coyle kissed her, and this time she was sensitive enough to close her eyes. His hand moved to her waist as he deepened the kiss when Hazel quickly stood up. “I will hurriedly make breakfast.” Then she dashed off, and Coyle chuckled before his gaze moved to the clock. He was awake an hour ago but had to stay more on bed so Hazel wouldn’t go make him breakfast at 5am as always. After breakfast, Coyle headed to the office, and Jude was shocked to find him come in at this hour.“Sir, did something happen?” Jude asked, and Coyle
Hazel stood before the Jones home, this place that had made her believe she didn't deserve happiness if her sister said so; she was her sister’s shadow but still loved them. Her mind drifted to her graduation from college; her parents had made her believe they would be there, but they never showed up. When she asked, she was told Nady had a menstrual cramp and they couldn't leave her alone. That had hurt her deeply, as she was one to feel worst during her period, but her parents never thought of canceling any event to stay with her or even putting thoughts into it.“It’s in the past,” she pushed the thoughts behind her brain and walked in. Hazel was slightly shocked to find Nady and Max on the couch. She had no idea Max would be here as well; her frown deepened as she both ignored them and headed to her father on the couch.“Hello father”Mr. Jones had an excited look once he saw her; he hurriedly stood up and hugged her tightly. “How are you doing, Hazel?” he asked, and Hazel had nev
Hazel was all quiet in the car, not paying attention to what Coyle was saying. She kissed her teeth angrily; she was annoyed and felt like a fool right now.“Hazel?” Coyle called, and she stared at him. He has been asking her questions, but she was all quiet.“Did something happen to your parents?” He asked, and she shook her head and leaned back, closed her eyes, and feigned to be asleep. What was going on in her life? She had no idea. Why was Coyle not mad at her? Why was he giving her the signals that he loved her instead?“I am not the bride he wanted, so why all this?” Does she even deserve the chain and all the kindness he keeps showing her? Now Hazel had doubts about herself and life; maybe all this was a dream, and she wasn't married; she was probably in the Jones mansion, upstairs in her bedroom in deep sleep, having a perfect dream.Soon, the car arrived at the Anderson mansion, and Coyle had to carry her upstairs as she had fallen asleep for real. He placed her on the soft
“Hey…” Hazel hurried to her bag, but the food had poured to the ground.“I said leave; this isn't a brothel but a working space,” the receptionist scolded, and a tear rolled down Hazel’s cheeks. She wasn't hurt by the receptionist's words but just hurt because Coyle wouldn’t get to eat the breakfast she made.“Mrs. Anderson,” Jude rushed towards her. Coyle was in a meeting and his phone was with him, so he had picked up her call, but he didn't hear her speak even when he kept talking. He was about to hang up when he heard Hazel saying she came to see Coyle and also the receptionist scolding her, so he hurried downstairs immediately but never expected to meet her in tears.“Are you okay, Mrs. Anderson?” he asked, and the receptionists went all pale. Did Jude just call that lady Mrs. Anderson? She thought.Hazel stood up and cleaned her tears. “I am fine; I just wanted to see Coyle. It’s my fault I didn't book an appointment.”“An appointment? You don't need one to see your husband. In
The little voice was so loud that she couldn't push it away, so Hazel hurried back into the office as they both stared at her with confused gazes.“I didn't leave with any cash and the driver; maybe you could drop me off at work.” She didn't know where she got such guts to ask such a request, but she had to try; she couldn't go and leave her husband with this woman who had made it clear that she was going to get Coyle no matter what.Coyle walked to the table and picked up his car key when Sommer hurried to him, “Are you going to drop her off? You could send your driver right; besides, I am here to see you. It’s been long,” she had a pleading look before Coyle’s gaze moved to Hazel, who stood by the door.“Next time, book an appointment,” Coyle said to Sommer before he walked towards Hazel and wrapped his hand around her waist.“Let’s go; you could recharge me on the way. So it’s a win-win,” he teased, and she chuckled before they both left his office and got to the presidential eleva
