“How do we get in touch with the angels? Did you figure that out?” I ask my great aunt.

“Actually, they stopped me before we left the meeting,” Selene says. “They want to meet with all of the gods and goddesses that are connected to the shifters that are possible archangels.”

“So why are you here Hecate? You aren’t connected to any of us as a goddess or a mate,” JoJo asks. I pull her into my chest by the back of her neck, using my thumb to wipe away the last vestiges of her tears. I don’t like knowing what this is doing to my mates and I’ll do anything I can to help comfort them.

I can’t help but smile when she turns into my palm and kisses it. The spark of lust from the newly formed matebond flares, but it seems when something really important presents itself, we’re able to put it on the back burner. This whole mating process is fascinating. I am in awe of Selene’s creativity when she made the werewolf species.

And I’m especially thankful for the three wolves that

What is this going to do to the matebond? How is Jacob going to change? Will he willingly come back to his mates? So many questions!!! Do you guys think that he did the right thing?

Of course it is the right thing. The members of those packs are so selfless, they would do anything if there is a chance that it would make a difference. And they will figure it out when it's over.

The second that the words come out of my mouth, Uriel raises his hands above his head and I’m lifted into the air. I can’t move. I can barely get air to move in and out of my lungs. I’m trying with all of my might to struggle out of whatever is holding me, but it isn’t working. The only sounds that can come out of my mouth are muffled groans. I can’t talk. I can’t scream. I can barely hear anything. My mates are screaming. Selene and Thor, Hecate and her males are screaming at the angels, trying to get them to release me. But suddenly, a huge host of angels is surrounding us. They had been invisible the whole time. And now they are fighting my mates and the gods that are with us. All while Uriel is holding me up in the air. Above me, I see a pinprick of light start to build. As I stare at it, the pinprick gets bigger. Brighter. More intense. A warmth creeps through my body, something that I can tell is supposed to calm me, but all it does is scare me. Because I ha

I wake up with Freya in my arms. I love the feel of her against my skin. The barely there sparks that move up and down our skin when we touch feel so good. I like that this is something that is just the two of us. The sparks with Nyx are much stronger, as will be the sparks with whoever Freya’s mate is. But the fact that they are there at all shows how special we are to each other. I pull Freya in even tighter to my chest, skating my fingers up and down her arm and kissing just behind her ear. I smile down at her as her face nuzzles into my chest, her hands and legs winding around me as she partially wakes up. She hums against my skin, scenting me even in her half asleep state. I chuckle, the sound rumbling in my chest and against her face. Her big brown eyes blink open and a lazy smile crosses her lips as she looks up at me. “Hey, sexy,” she purrs, her voice husky with sleep. “Hey, baby,” I smile before leaning down to kiss her. “What’s got you up so early?” she

Faster, I mindlink to Ryder. We’re in our wolf forms, running hard through the Okanogan Forest of upper Washington state, near the Canadian border. We’re at the northernmost edge of Roman’s territory and away from the rest of the pack to make sure that Ryder doesn’t unintentionally hurt someone when he shifts unexpectedly and has trouble reigning in his wolf. He’s doing well though. He’s been able to shift of his own volition three times in this past week. That doesn’t sound like much, but he’s not even supposed to have his wolf. And at this point, any progress is good. Plus, he’s only wolfed out on emotions once this week. I’m pretty damn proud of the little guy. Though, I would never call him that to his face. One, have you ever called a teenager something like that? Not the best way to garner trust. And two, he’s got a big ass wolf. I’d be able to take him down. Eventually. But I’d likely take a lot of damage and, again, not the best way to garner trust. That brings

I barely have my last sentence out when Amelia has me pressed against a tree, her mouth on mine. “Mmmmm,” I groan into her mouth. It would be funny how quickly she’s on me, except for the fact that I’m so turned on. Her hands are in my hair, squeezing my tits, cupping my ass, and moving under the hem of my shirt. “I’ve been thinking about fucking you with my tongue all day, Mommy,” she tells me. “I need to taste you. Please, Mommy.” “Yeah, baby girl? You been thinking about it all day? How good my pussy is gonna taste for you. How I’m gonna cum in your mouth? How I’m gonna sit on your face and ride your tongue like a it’s a pogo stick?” I purr in her ear as she kisses down my neck. The scent of her arousal is potent in the air and mine quickly mingles with it. I chuckle as her hands move under my shirt, up my torso, and beneath the band of my sports bra to cup my tits. My voice comes out husky as I ask her, “How wet are you, baby girl?” “Fucking dripping, Mommy,”

  • Mother, May I   Chapter 71 - Ryder

I walk with Thor and Selene into the portal that Selene created and walk out into a beautiful lawn surrounded by the bluest, clearest lake that I’ve ever seen. It seems like it’s mid summer, near sunset, the air colored a buttery yellow that you only see in fairytale books. Fish leap out of the lake every so often and there are deer grazing by the water like some scene out of a picture book. Beside the lake, there is a huge castle that continues on beyond what I can see. Humanoid figures and those in a more bestial forms come out of the doors, fly off of the balconies, or swim from tunnels into the lake. “Where are we?” I ask. Selene smiles at me indulgently. “We’re in Valhalla.” “Ho-ly shit!” I say on a whistle, looking at my surroundings once more. This is insane. No wonder it looks like it came from a fairytale book. This was what some of the original ‘fairytales’ were based off of. Thor seems to straighten with pride and it’s then that I remember that Valhalla is

  • Mother, May I   Chapter 72 - Hermes

I had elected to help with Jacob’s training front he angels, especially since he would be spending a large amount of time with me and my mates. I wanted to make sure that I either could shut his power down or contain it. And holy hell does he have power! The only reason that our favorite archangels are able to handle him is because of special powers from God. Apparently, the existing Thrones aren’t the best at interacting with others. It’s better to have the lesser powered angels do the training because they are closer to humans than a Throne would be. There are three others that have elected to take up the mantle as Thrones: a hybrid bear/witch shifter, a panther shifter, and a descendant of Ares that is also a selkie. For better or for worse (probably for worse), Jacob is in Uriel’s group with the bear/witch shifter. Right now, they’re working on sword fighting and flying at the same time. They have other powers, but getting to understand their bodies and how they move in t

I had needed my mates, badly, by the time I finished with training. Yeah, I was famished and exhausted and I needed a shower badly. But the main thing was how badly that I needed my mates. It wasn’t just horniness. Not just an itch that needed to be scratched. It was a bone deep need that couldn’t be tempered. I didn’t mean to be so aggressive with Hermes. But if it had to be that aggressive with one of my mates, I’m glad that it was him. Hermes wouldn’t get hurt by the brutality that raged within him when he fucked him in the trees. By the time they got back to their bed with their mates, he was calmer. His taking of his mates was still rougher than typical, but not anywhere near what it was like with Hermes in the trees. As much as I hated the fact that I did it, I wasn’t thinking about Hermes when I fucked his mouth or his ass. All I thought about was needing to feel him wrapped around my cock. Hermes seemed ok with it, but I could never have done any of that with

I stand in front of the mirror, watching as my mother sets the flower crown of willowbark, peonies, and pink cyclamen blossoms in my hair. Looking at myself in the mirror, I complete the final touches on my look. I can’t believe how everything was pulled together so quickly, but I guess when it comes to my mother and Naomi, nothing should surprise me. “You look beautiful, bug,” Mom says, surreptitiously wiping a tear from her cheek. “Of course she does! Have you seen the way that dress hugs her curves? Nathan’s gonna drag her off into the woods for some fun before the ceremony is even finished!” Amethyst, my sister, says. “Eww! That’s my brother you’re talking about,” Gray whines. As my best friend, she’s my maid of honor for the handfasting ceremony. With the blessing that Nyx put on me so that Nate and I can have a child, we’re not sure how it will manifest. Is it going to be like wolves, where I’ll only get pregnant if there’s a full moon? Or will it be more like a wit

  • Mother, May I   Epilogue - Lucifer

So much pain. Those fucking angels! They killed my mate. They killed MY CHILD! And then they tried to kill me. I had enough power left within me in order teleport away from them to the edge of Tartarus. But I was bleeding heavily from a wound that eviscerated my stomach and just missed my heart. Otherwise, I would have died right then and there. I used all the power that I had left to make my way through the cyclopses, the hydra, the river of fire. And then I make my way down the labyrinthine walkways, looking for my first love. Only she will have the power to heal me. Only she will have the power to bring me back to what I was before. I don’t know how long it took for me to get to her. How much blood flowed from my body. How much pain I felt. How low I had to get. I laid on the ground, covered in dirt, dehydrated, and weak. And then I feel someone push me with their foot.

  • Mother, May I   Chapter 99 - Josefina

It’s so hard to believe that the war is over. All of that build up and fear for just one, admittedly epic, fight? I guess I just never realized how much war is about waiting for something to happen. Hermes says that it’s really like that, but it’s still hard to believe. The angels are all up in a tither worried that they haven’t been able to find evidence of Lucifer’s body being gone. We haven’t heard anything from their god, so I’m assuming that he’s not worried about it. I mean, it’s been two weeks and nothing. Gabriel has even come to Jacob and said that he can start the process of detaching from the Christian god and giving up his powers. Though, halfway through Gabriel’s instructions on how to do that, Michael showed up and basically begged Jacob to remain a Throne for another six months. Just in case Lucifer came back. After meeting with Maeve, Dougal, and Win, the results were mixed. Maeve hated being a Throne.

A parent should never have to bury their child. Ever. Even though Nyx wasn’t of our blood or even of our species, she was just as much our child as Jared, Summer, and Chris. Even though she was only with us for a less than a year, she was our pup. And this is the worst pain that I’ve ever experienced, aside from the pain of losing Charlie. I stand with Kayla, Brandon, Jared, Summer, Rowen, Chris, and Esteban. Little Lilianna sits on Chris’s lap, the two year old not understanding what is happening. Neither do the triplets, Nixon, Natalie, and Nolan. Each are sitting with the parent that they seem to gravitate to the most: Nixon with her little hands trying to wipe the tears from Kayla’s face, Natalie in my arms and giving me hugs and kisses to try to comfort me, and Nolan sitting stoically in Brandon’s arms though he has his hands wraps around his father’s fingers. No, our pups don’t know what has happened, but they know that something is wrong. Nathan stands on Kayla’s othe

  • Mother, May I   Chapter 97 - Devin

I immediately know when Lucifer has been slain. We all do. There’s a power in the air that just dissipates. It’s there one second and then it’s gone. And then the enemy either surrender or run away, dropping their weapons as they go. Oh, there are a few die hard proponents of what Lucifer was trying to do, but they don’t last long. They are quickly overrun by fae, witches, wolves, shifters, supernaturals, or angels. Within an hour of Lucifer’s death, all of the fighting is done and the medics have flooded the field. Gods and goddesses either heal right there on the field or teleport those that need immediate medical attention to the surgery tents. Arya and I quickly turn to the Elite and pups’ mates, and our friends. “Summer! Jared!” Arya says, looking up from healing a nasty bite to Tomas’s leg that is already showing signs of infection. “Here!” Summer shouts out in a pained voice. I turn to see

  • Mother, May I   Chapter 96 - Nathan

All three of us see the Morning star leaving the palace and stepping onto the field with the angels and we know that time is running out. We have to hurry and get to Nyx and sever her bond with Lucifer so that he is weak enough for them to kill him. No one else seems to be guarding the castle, at lest not on our side. I can see that demons and gods are getting into ranks and preparing to get onto the battlefield. The problem is, they’re too slow. The angels are already hear. They have breached the walls that surround the castle, their armor and very skin gleaming, their swords and battle axe’s, and spears coated in the multiple colors of blood that each of these evil beings possess. “We need to get inside while they’re all occupied,” Rowen says as we run towards the gates. “And before anyone comes in as reinforcements.” “Anyone see how to get the gates open?” Alexander says, his eyes rapidly taking in the structure in front of us.

  • Mother, May I   Chapter 95 - Jacob

The second that we make our way through the gate into the Underworld, we’re all ready to start fighting. I mean, that’s the logical thing to do, right? Problem is, we seem to have gone into a gate where there are minimal guards. Like, this gate seems to have been forgotten completely. There's two there and they were taken out by the blast that opened the gate. Either we got really fucking lucky. Or we’ve walked into a trap. Angels pour into the hole behind us, creating a perimeter to keep us safe from behind. No, they won’t be able to stop Lucifer, but they are cannon fodder that will slow him down. Yeah, that sounds really fucking shitty to say it like that, but they knew the score when they were assigned to the role. It is what it is. From the gate, I can see Hades’s palace, where Lucifer and his new queen, Nyx, have been staying since they were kicked out of Valhalla. We’re coming in about five miles to the south and three miles above the palace. The gate is in

  • Mother, May I   Chapter 94 - Hermes

It is killing me to wait here with the gods while my mates are all in three different spots right now. I’m so agitated and distracted by this fact that my winged shoes are making me float about a foot off of the ground. Josefina is with her parents, fighting near the front lines. What I hate is that she doesn’t have any powers to fight with. She’s just got her strength and skills as a warrior and a wolf. Thank fuck that the wolves take fighting seriously, so she has a ton of skill. But that only helps me feel just a little bit of relief. She is definitely the mate that I’m most worried about. But then there’s Alexander. He and his twin are escorting Nathan to get to Nyx so that he can kill her and the child in her stomach. Hecate had told us that Nyx is in labor starting this morning. So they have to get to her quickly. Of course, that means finding the right time to get past the enemy army ahead of the rest of our allies and then fight whoever Lucifer has guarding the

  • Mother, May I   Chapter 93 - Nyx

The contractions had been happening off and on for the past two days. “Braxton-Hicks,” Persephone assured me. “It’s just your body’s way of getting ready for birth. It can happen for a long time before you actually go into labor. I really wouldn’t worry about it if I were you.” But I knew better. I could feel this evil thing’s elation as it could feel me preparing for birth. It had been tossing and turning in my stomach, moving into position for birth. So when I woke in the wee hours of the morning today, feeling strong achy bands of pressure all around my stomach. I let out a wheezy, breathy screams as the feeling took my breath away. I had been laying on my left side, my head pillowed on Lucifer’s arm, his other arm keeping me pulled into him. When I had woken in pain, it woke him up as well. “What’s wrong? What’s happening?” Lucifer asks, his eyes are wide, but his voice is laced with aggression and protectiveness. He had moved over top of me, caging me against t

  • Mother, May I   Chapter 92 - Alexander

The screeching sound that comes from above us sounds like a combination between the howl of a wolf, the cry of some kind of bird of prey, and a woman’s scream. We look up and there are seven of these…things. They have the body of a woman, looking heavily pregnant and near giving birth, talons for feet and wings like a giant eagle, and the head of an enormous rabid jackal. But the belly is actually full of the babies and men that they’ve eaten. They are wearing what looks like a skull bikini, a skull covering each breast and her vulva. It’s fucking weird and looks very uncomfortable. In their hands, each carries one knife made of fire and another made of ice. The Lamashtu. The seven aspects of the Mesapotamian Goddess of evil. Think Hecate, but in seven different bodies instead of sharing the same body. And when I say that she was evil, I mean EVIL. Evil just for evil’s sake. One of the few goddesses in all of the various pantheons who didn’t have a reason to be evil. S
