“Are you sure you don’t want to get to Hel or Fenrir first?” Serenity asked, he’d told them last night that he was going to go after those who were a problem for them. Even if they weren’t, she was sure he was going to kill something. He looked like he needed it and wanted to.
“Yes, I have been underground long enough. If they want this and I want destruction then here is what I am going to do.” He turned his head and looked at her. “You will take me to those that can find me Surt and his. What he tried to do to get control of my sister, and Fenrir. I know he is behind a great deal. You should be happy with my destruction over his.” He commented
“Why’s that?”
“Because I’d just kill you, he’d enslave or torture you. Take your pick.” He was really a bright outlook kind of person wasn’t he? She thought sarcastically
“We haven’t seen anyone that might be Jormungand.” Antonio said. He was very careful with his words. Surt had a short fuse and he was only working with him because they had a mutual agreement. Both wanting the same thing, and this world would be theirs once Ragnarok started. “Where have you searched?”Surt demanded, and was bruised on half his body. Surt wasn’t moving his one arm all that well, but Antonio had seen him tossed by that sea serpent before he’d suddenly changed below the waves. He was surprised that Surt didn’t have broken bones, but he was moving slower. “We are still searching, mostly along the shores as he’d want to stick to the ocean. The iron collar will contain his size for now. The magic imbued will probably let him shift to a smaller form for short periods. So he could still be out there. Thor hasn’t made an appearance either, both s
They got back to the hotel, and she had them go in through a back entrance. He wasn’t wearing clothes and she had blood all over her. She didn’t say much to him and once they were in the room she went right to her bag and grabbed some food and ate it, needing it. “If you want the demons that work for Surt. You’ll have to go to the den that they belong to.” She said to him, glancing over her shoulder. “I heard it in the demon's mind, he knew a couple names, but not what den they belonged to. They had contacted him, Surt is or was still in this country. I doubt he will be here for long. It sounded like he’d rather not engage you. He’s more interested in Fenrir.” “I’m sure he is.” He commented. Well at least he got more out of it than feeding. Or she did. “He didn’t know what den, but this demon works mo
“If I could have bitten it I would have.” Jormungad said to the screen. This was interesting, this video chat. He could see his siblings. He hadn’t seen their faces in millennia. Only heard Hel’s voice, which she was the one to ask if he could get at the ring by biting it. They were talking about his issue and whether they should meet yet “From what I have found, which you said the ring is made of iron?” Serenity gave a nod. She was sitting cross legged in the chair that he stood behind. “The magic of iron is that you can control size. It’s properties were used in the past to trap giants in controllable size. Also if you shift you might be unable to keep form for long. Kind of why chains were made out of it, strong. Imbued with magic it will only let you get so big. Your body knows this. If you got larger it would slice into your neck and kill you. Or if you push the boundary of the magic in it.” Well tha
They were standing outside a casino and she looked up at Jormungand. The place was bright and loud. There were a ton of people all over the place. This was not a good place to go crazy and turn into a sixty foot serpent in her opinion. There were also innocent people here, but his gaze didn’t seem to notice that. The man had a one track mind and it was kicked into destroy. Be rid of those who were a problem. He went to step forward and she touched his arm for a moment. He stopped but looked dangerous and she stopped touching him right then. “Subtle? Let us try it, it might get you farther.” She commented. “What harm will it do?” Because she’d like this over with. She’d like Tamara and Max to be able to sleep at night. Even if they too had siblings with them, at least they seemed to be having an easier time of it. “Fine, show me if you think it better.” She mo
Jormungand felt amazing and sore at the same time. It sucked that he couldn’t keep his giant form for extend periods, but he had eaten or sucked the energy out of all those in the other room. He felt pretty damn near full. He'd been stabbed and shot a few times, but that would heal. A couple of the wounds were bad, but with the influx of energy he was going to be fine. He’d moved back toward the room Serenity had been in after killing two more. One having stabbed him in the side, the one thing he hated about this flesh. It was easy to damage. He saw Serenity on the floor and the demon over her, she was struggling with him and the demon struck her. He just rushed forward and took the demon right through the wall. He could smell a bit of her blood and it wasn’t acceptable. She was his charge at the moment. This son of a bitch didn’t have rights to her or to harm what he promised wasn’t going to come to harm
Serenity just learned something new about Jormungand today. Apparently he could travel wherever he wanted to go so long as there was a portal. She never gave a thought about the fact he could span worlds and what that meant, but she had mentioned flying. How long it was going to take to get to Las Vegas. Not exactly exciting for her, she’d spent the morning catching up on some requests. Even knowing that world ending beings were here, the rest of this reality was still moving on with normal lives. So she had to too. He’d oddly sat on the bed eyes closed meditating while she worked. He didn’t respond to her when she asked things so she gave up and got some work done. She still needed to get paid, the world was still moving on even with what she was doing. She jumped when he spoke finally. All of a sudden he got up and told her that they weren’t going to be fly
Serenity was not happy right now. She had to climb out of a canyon and then they walked six miles before Jormungand forced a car to stop. They just took it. She didn’t even protest leaving the couple there on the side of the road, but they did leave them water. She drove and she drove fast to Las Vegas. Neither spoke, he had pulled some metal bar out of his shoulder and it was still bleeding, it wasn’t closing. He was holding a shirt he found in the back seat to it. They parked the car in a back lot area and then got out. “Here, let me see it.” She said when they were standing at the back of the car. He didn’t have clothes. He stared at her for a minute and she made a motion. The wound was nasty looking, and still bleeding. She didn’t get why. “What’s wrong, why isn’t it healing?” She asked. “I’m sure it was coat
“Look, this place is not going to be easy.” She told him showing him what she had of the place. What she could dig up. She even got into the records. This was a den that had existed for a very long time. There were multiple types in there, not just demons. The entire place had levels that were set up, and based on the very limited intel they had people that could sense what others were. “If this place is with Surt or coming after mine, then it will be taken care of.” He commented, though it would be easier if he could be his actual size and just demolish the place. “As far as we know there is one demon for sure that knows anything. Antonio and this one he calls home, but he is working with Surt. So he may not be here, then what? At some point they are going to catch on, and with the ring you are at a disadvantage if they become ready for you.” She
Tamara could not tell you the anxiety she felt in the weeks following what happened. That they were all on edge. Worried that none would keep their word and yet they had. It got easier over time to relax a little to enjoy moments. She took to showing Fenrir all that he wanted to learn, to show him the world. Even if they really didn’t leave the knew home they found. They were still learning, it was hard no one changed overnight. However his fierceness with her stemmed from the fact that he cared. He loved her, and she knew it. He’d whispered it to her one night a week or so ago. That he’d never felt his heart feel so many things at once, yet it always did looking at her. Tamara’s response had been quick and swift. He better love her, she’d stood in front of gods and declared she’d stand by him. They way he’d taken her that night was different in a way she could name and it was so much better. That b
“What is this!” A rather booming voice shouted as Tamara hit the floor. She was able to concentrate a bit more from the intense shock she just received from the blade. The blade had a consciousness to it, and with all the objects she’d ever worked with, this was a first to feel that it was alive. She got the sense that it liked her, it liked what she did. So it chose her over Surt whom it was made for. Her head was pounding a bit with the knowledge that passed into her from the blade. “Fenrir is awake. His siblings have found him and they come.” Tamara moved to stand but only managed to get on her knees first. “You deliver this news, and drop a mortal before us!” She looked up at the man that stood there. He looked old and had a shriveled socket that an eye must have been once but was no more. Just one eye, and her vision was clearing as her body temp was goi
“Kill the blonde one, distract Jormungand!” Antonio shouted at a few of the others who went for Serenity. Thor was back, but seemed to be torn between going for Jor or leaving. Clearly this was a shit storm he needed help with, but he seemed torn because it was clearly that Fenrir was not free of his bonding yet. He looked like he wanted to go for Surt but then he’d have to fight two giants and have a third on his back. That tactic worked, because they also rushed Hel who met them head on. Which put Jor in the position of help his mortal or go for Thor. Antonio knew what he’d choose. Antonio turned and ran toward the house where the other two mortals were and fighting well, clearly they knew their shit. That wasn’t going to help them this time. This was supposed to be and they were going to see to it, and he went for the male. He knew the elf had the amulet he needed to control Hel, and he went for him wh
“Okay, how about not so hard?” Serenity said lifting up the third trash can. Tamara had gotten a few buckets. Jor’s red gaze didn’t look amused. He was his serpent at the moment. ‘Because I bit so hard the first couple times, your items are weak.’ “Maybe you are just to intense.” Max commented and that got him a hiss. Not a nice one either. “Just saying.” Serenity and Hel held the trash can sideways, he was as careful as he could be and bit into it letting his fang pop into the plastic. “There stop!” Tamara said and he paused, the other two holding the can. Tamara ran over and held the bucket up to his second large fang, but Fenrir took it from her giving her a look. “Contact with your skin might poison you Tamara
“I feel so cold.” Serenity said and Jor felt a relieved breath come out of him. All the muscles in his body relaxed, and he felt her turn into him a bit where he was sitting. They had arrived here at Tamara’s home two days ago after being told where it was. Tamara and Fenrir just arrived an hour ago. It was something to see his brother in the flesh again. However he’d been unable to let go of Serenity to actually greet him. None of them were sure she was breathing the first few hours after getting here. He had been very close to going on a rampage. He felt this complete desolation inside of him. Unlike anything else before, and he thought she was dead. When he was going to set her down she had taken in a sharp breath. After that he’d just sat where he was holding her as she did feel very cold. Though she didn’t feel like that so much anymore. He was sure she still needed warmth.
“You better not make a liar of me woman.” Hel said crossing her arms looking down at Serenity. She actually opened her eyes for a moment waking. “I’m trying.” She said very quietly and then her eyes closed again. She struggled to stay awake but everything felt so far away. It felt like to much. Hel knelt and wished that her touch wasn’t cold, but with Max gone, she had no warmth to give to anyone. She just tucked the blanket around the woman more. This mortal who Jormungand clearly cared for. Hel would forever remember the sight of her brother holding the woman as she came in the house. He’d been cradling her in his arms and the protective hold he had on her was one she had never seen him give anything. She knew the feeling, and she had seen the very slight surprise on his face looking at Hel. She wondered how much she had changed, or if she actually looked d
“Here, he’s been spotted.” Antonio handed Surt a paper. They were in New York City. Surt just felt like he should be here so here is where they went. Clearly they weren’t going to find Hel, and so they were back at square one. However Antonio’s work had paid off, and his call out to the Den that was now in ruins. “Who?” “Jormungand. My den gave me a description. I have been monitoring and sending out a sketch and description to police bulletins. We have a hit, it was a long shot, but I think fate likes things to go its way. So here he is.” Antonio shook the paper and Surt took it looking at it and crumpled it, he couldn’t read this language. “Where?” “Four hours from us, at least that was where he was last seen. He and Thor did some serious damage, especially T
Jor was startled awake when Serenity just pulled away from him and suddenly leaned over the side of the bed and wretched hard. She vomited what little she had in her stomach and he moved steadying her when she nearly toppled out of the bed. She was sweating and looked very pale. Her skin was still hot to the touch and she was shaking. “I feel horrible.” Serenity said reaching for the water and her hand didn’t quite go the direction that she wanted it too. Jor got up and moved around getting the water for her and had to help her drink. She swayed where she sat and felt dizzy. “You look horrible.” He told her and she gave him a look. “Thanks.” She commented and he felt that tug to smile. She suddenly just went back and hit the bed. Her entire body seemed to go rigid and he had no idea how to describe the sounds she
Jor woke first and Serenity felt like she was burning up, but she was also shaking slightly. He leaned up and felt her face before her forehead. She was definitely running a high fever. He got up moving around the bed to her side. He leaned over her frowning as she opened her eyes and looked at him. “I feel cold.” She said pulling the blankets closer. “You feel hot.” He told her and she was shivering, what was wrong with her? Why was she saying she was cold when she was clearly running a fever? He’d never dealt with anything like this before. He was concerned that she was really sick. The bruise on her face was yellow but not healed, he moved the blankets to check her for a second, other wounds weren’t much better. “My head hurts.” She commented and he had a tight lipped expression.
