“Excuse me,” Julia said, bringing back Aaron from reverie. She saw how he had stared at her, and despite being uncomfortable, she had somehow been rooted where she stood.
“Are you new here?” Aaron asked, casually, for lack of something to say.
She nodded. “Today is my first shift,” Julia answered before asking, “Is there anything you might need?” She didn’t want to divert from her work.
“Not really,” he replied nonchalantly.
“Good, excuse me now,” Julia said.
“How was it today?” Lucy asked when the two were at home.
“Not as bad as I thought it would be. Do you don’t know whom I met?” Julia asked.
“Spill,” Lucy playfully demanded as she got comfortable on the chair.
Julia answered casually, “‘Aaron Tide.”
“Are you for real?” Lucy asked while looking at her suspiciously.
