“Because I was watching you!”

She smiled at that statement, and the final auction event was announced.

He offered his arm, and with a smile, he said, “Let me escort you to the auction.”

She looked at him doubtfully but only in that event, only that night that action would not harm her. Taking Rick’s arm, they both headed in the direction where the final auction would take place.

The auction started as planned, and everyone present enjoyed the event. Tina would see the objects that were auctioned, and many of them had spectacular histories. Ancient jewels that fetched exorbitant prices or relics that in themselves could have the history of entire nations.

Both enjoyed the auction while joking. Tina found Rick extremely interesting. His way of speaking and his general interests attracted her, and while the jewels were auctioned, Rick said, "None of these relics attract you?"

Tina saw them, and they all clearly att
