Chapter One Hundred and Forty

When he saw that she wouldn't say anything else, he clutched tightly to his black leather bag and said,

"I have to go now. I need to clear my head and think of the next thing to do. Take care of yourself," He patted her on the shoulder and walked away from her briskly towards the plane.

He didn't bother looking back or he would be tempted to run back to her and pull her to himself. He was the last person to get on the plane, and as soon as he got in, the door closed.

Elena sat on the chair at the visiting area and gripped the bottle of chilled orange juice she had bought tightly. She had drunk it in a rush thinking it would numb the pain she felt within but I didn't.

She watched the plane fly into the air and realized that she was the biggest fool ever for letting him go. She knew that she was able to stop him from studying elsewhere but pride didn't allow her to apologize.

She should have told him that she loved him too and not Craig but the words were stuck in her throat.
