Her stomach begun to ache and growl in the middle of the night.

She woke from the pain and discomfort of it, and suddenly regret dawned on her as she clutched the edges of her blanket firmly, close to sobbing.

Hazel made a muffled sound in the back of her throat.

Why has she chosen to punish herself for something so stupid. It is not as though either Luca or Frey was feeling the extent of her pain, no it is her who is burning from the flames of her own anger.

She stirred in bed, turning to where Luca lay beside her.

His chest rose and fell evenly as he slept.

His face was calm, relaxed, the opposite of the scrunched up expression on Hazel's face as she grimaced in hunger.

Not eating dinner had a surprisingly harsh effect on her system, she had only managed to eat the cupcakes they made for the picnic for lunch in the afternoon. That was barely enough to keep her full through the night of course, so now she has woken with this ache in her stomach, unable to sleep anymore.
