Elliot’s POV

"Anything?" I asked the lowly wolf that had taken the place of Hunter.

His betrayal ran so deep, cutting me down further. Hunter being unhappy was nothing new with how he'd been this past year, but I never would have guessed it was enough to make him leave. He called me his brother, and then deserted me the moment he got the chance. Not only did he leave, but he took Dru with him. That shouldn't have been a surprise, as they were attached at the hip. I thought Dru would have convinced him to stay.

"No, sir. No word on where they went," the wolf answered.

"Let them turn into rogues. I don't have time to lick their petty emotional wounds." The words hurt even myself as I spoke them. I wanted to whimper away, feeling hurt and angered.
