Ch. 69

Elliot’s POV

"Anything?" I asked the lowly wolf that had taken the place of Hunter.

His betrayal ran so deep, cutting me down further. Hunter being unhappy was nothing new with how he'd been this past year, but I never would have guessed it was enough to make him leave. He called me his brother, and then deserted me the moment he got the chance. Not only did he leave, but he took Dru with him. That shouldn't have been a surprise, as they were attached at the hip. I thought Dru would have convinced him to stay.

"No, sir. No word on where they went," the wolf answered.

"Let them turn into rogues. I don't have time to lick their petty emotional wounds." The words hurt even myself as I spoke them. I wanted to whimper away, feeling hurt and angered. It was all jumbled into one large ball of negative emotions, with anger being the prevalent one. "We head out as planned."

"Yes, sir. I will alert the others." I watched the wolf run off in the direction of our troops. He was strong, but

I hope you guys are looking forward to this battle. The book is coming to an end soon. I am hoping to finish it by chapter 80, but we shall see how long this battle will last once I start. I won't drag it out too much longer.

This has been a great read. Different plot line than the regular 'abused she-wolf, mean mate' and such. Very refreshing. Can't wait to read the end.
