"I AM GLAD to know you know who I am," Clyde said when Callie uttered his name.
Callie immediately averted her eyes from Clyde and proceeded to pick up her belongings. Clyde helped her as well."So, tell me, who made you cry?" Clyde inquired as he handed Callie some of her stuff."No one," Callie replied then, started walking to go to her class. She was puzzled when she noticed Clyde was following her. He was still wearing that strange smile on his lips as he looked at her. She halted and looked at him. "Are you following me?"Clyde shrugged slightly and smiled even brighter. "Well, I still didn't get your name."Callie frowned.Clyde smiled and scratched his neck, then took a step closer to Callie. "I just felt it was unfair because you know who I am but I don't know you," he explained. "And now that I mention it, how did you come to know me?" Full of curiosity he stared at Callie. "Well, yeah, I know I'm pretty well-known around here, but the way you said my name makes it sounds like you've known me for a while."Clyde drew his face closer to Callie's and studied her features in great detail. He'd dated a lot of beautiful girls in the past, but Callie stood out. She had the appearance of a goddess. He had been wondering why he had only seen her now during his time at their university. But now that he has found her, he can never allow her not to be included in his collection of women."It looks that I've been completely overwhelmed by daily life attractions," he said, smiling. "How could I not notice your beauty in all the time I've spent here at this university? I must be a fool."Callie looked at Clyde and immediately raised an eyebrow. She admitted that she was relieved to see him again, but she became dissatisfied with him as their conversation progressed. She didn't think of him to be like this. She was well aware of Clyde's character. She knew he was the type of guy who liked collecting women and enjoys playing with their hearts, aside from the fact that he was so full of himself.Callie smiled and locked eyes with Clyde. When she did it, she thought Clyde liked it even more. "You really are a fool to think that your flattery will work on me.""What?""Whatever you're thinking, stop it this instance. I have no intentions of becoming one of your toys," Callie said coldly before turning her back on Clyde.Clyde fell silent at what Callie said. He'd never been turned down by a woman before. He laughed as he watched Callie walking away."You really don't have a plan to tell me your name ?!" he shouted.Callie waved her hand as a no.Clyde shook his head and chuckled."Clyde! There you are!"Clyde turned to the person who had just arrived. It was Megan, one of his friends."Hi, Megs!" A smile was still lingering on his lips."What's with that grin?"Clyde didn't answer. He returned his gaze to Callie, who had already reached the end of the long corridor."Callie?" Megan said in astonishment as she followed Clyde's gaze.Clyde immediately turned to Megan. "You know her?""You're such a moron for not knowing who Callie is; she's the Education Department's goddess."Megan's response made Clyde laugh. "I am indeed an idiot," he admitted quietly to himself. "You mean your department, the Education Department?"Megan nodded. "Yes, she's one of my seniors.""So, she's going to be a teacher too just like you. Okay," Clyde said as he nodded. "But how come I don't see her here on campus?""Well, she's always there in that place you've never dared to go."Clyde paused for a while. His face brightened a few moments later when he realized the place where Megan was referring to.*****"HE'S HERE AGAIN."Callie couldn't help but sigh when she felt Clyde's presence inside the library. She noticed Clyde had been going to the library for a few days, and even though he wouldn't admit it, she knew she was the reason he was there because she overheard him and Megan talking the first time they met in the corridor. She also knew that he already knew her name.Clyde appeared in front of her and joined her at her desk. He sat in the empty seat in front of her with a thick book. It was a book about Police Administration. As he sat down, pretending to be surprised, Clyde said, "It's you again? Wow! I guess we meet more often. Don't you think this is fate?""So, you're a criminology student," Callie said, and briefly took her eyes off the book she was reading to look at Clyde.Clyde does not appear to be a criminology student based on his appearance. Clyde's hair was longer and thicker than the other criminology students who had neat haircuts. When Clyde realized Callie was staring at his hair, he laughed. "Is it because of my hair? Well, I'm not going to cut it because I like it this way.""At some point, you'll have to say goodbye to your hairstyle," Callie said, rolling her eyes at the book she was reading. "Especially if you're going to a practicum, I heard it's a requirement for you guys to have a clean cut."Clyde nodded. "You are indeed right. Actually, I'm going to do the second part of my OJT next month. Meaning, you will rarely see my face in the next few days.""That's good then."Clyde groaned. "Ouch!""Shhhh!" the librarian scolded him when his voice grew slightly louder.Clyde apologized to the librarian. He returned his gaze to Callie, who was engrossed in the book she was reading."Hey Callie, would you like to join me for dinner after class?""No," Callie said emphatically, without even looking at Clyde."I know I made an impression that day, but I'm not who you think I am. I'm not a f*ckboy. Get to know me and you'll see I'm also a nice guy."Callie pondered what Clyde had just said. Has she been too harsh with him?Clyde was looking at his phone when he received a call. He told Callie that he would answer it first before leaving the library.Callie's gaze followed Clyde until he came out. Her gaze shifted to the book he had left behind when she lost sight of him. She picked it up and noticed that something thick was stuck there. When she flipped through its pages, she found a magazine of sexy women stuck to it.She smirked and said, "Not a f*ckboy, huh?"As Clyde returned inside, he was dismayed when he saw that Callie was no longer inside the library. When he approached the table they were sitting at earlier, he realized why she had suddenly left. The magazine he had previously hidden was now on the top of the table. He squirms his brows and chuckles, "Why do I always make a fool of myself in front of her?"*****"WHY is it so hard to get a hold of you these days? What are you up to?" Andrew asked Clyde.Clyde and his friends Megan, Andrew, and Spencer are currently gathering in their university cafeteria for a snack.Although he was with his friends, Callie was still the stuff of Clyde’s mind. What is it about him that she dislikes?"Megan, do I still look the same?" Clyde asked Megan who was the only woman in their group.Megan frowned and asked, "What do you mean?""Am I ugly?" Clyde asked once more. The three exchanged puzzled looks as Clyde's questions perplexed them.To Andrew and Spencer's surprise, Megan exclaimed, "Wait, are you still hitting on Callie?""Callie? The goddess?" Spencer mused.Megan nodded and laughed. "I'm telling you, Clyde, whatever your planning to isn't gonna work. Callie isn't into dating."Clyde sulked as he stared at Megan, "How did you know?""Do you think no one in our department attempted to court her?"“With that gorgeous face, that's impossible,” Andrew commented."Callie isn't interested in men," Megan added. "She'd rather be with books than with you guys.""Hey, we're talking about Clyde Martin here. As we all know, no one says no to him." Spencer leaned back in his chair with a grin. "Perhaps that woman is just playing hard to get."What Spencer had said seemed to encourage Clyde. What he said was true because no woman had ever really said no to him."I can make her mine," Clyde said that driving his companions burst out laughing."I doubt it." Megan shook her head. "I know her.""Let's make a bet then," Andrew suggested."I like that!" Spencer applauded.Clyde just laughed. "Fine!""There's no need for that. I'm telling you guys, that won't happen."Clyde raised his eyebrows to Megan. "I can do it, Megs. Callie is not the one who would break my record." He grinned. "Mark my word, I'll have her in a week."They all laughed because of what Clyde said. He seems very sure of what he says. They stopped talking when they saw Callie approaching.Clyde was prompted to approach her by his friends. He did as they asked because he wanted to show them his capabilities."Hey, it's you again," he said to Callie who stood in line at the counter."Yes, but don't assume that this is all because of fate. Clyde, we're both at the same university, so it's only natural that our paths cross frequently," Callie replied, smiling at him.Clyde was astonished by Callie's smile at him. He wasn't used to it."Why are you looking at me like that?" Callie asked him when she noticed he was stunned in front of her."Ummm... Would you like to watch a movie with me this weekend?" he suddenly asked. He had a slight hunch that, like before, she would turn down his offer.Callie smiled again which made Clyde's heart skip a beat. Her response surprised him."Sure, why not?"THE day had finally come for Clyde. He offered to pick Callie up from her home, but she insisted on meeting him at the movie theater instead. As he gazed at the bouquet of red roses he was carrying, his smile never faded. He can't contain his excitement as he anticipates Callie's arrival. He has dated many women in the past, but none of them were serious relationships. He only agreed to be in a relationship with them to relieve boredom and, more importantly, to meet his needs as a man.But there was something strange about Callie that drew his attention. He felt like he had been subjected to magic because he was no longer able to have an interest in other women. He only wants Callie and nothing else.None of the women he met had made him feel intense excitement and nervousness except Callie and that mysterious woman he had seen in the hospital, five years ago.As the mysterious woman returns to his memory, he is reminded of the events of those times.Years ago, because of his troubled
"THIS isn't you, Clyde."Callie secretly smiled after hearing Megan whisper to Clyde.Clyde and his friends are in the library right now. They had no idea that even though they were far away from Callie's seat, she could still hear and see them even though they were all hiding their faces behind their books."I thought Callie was the one you'd get in a week? Look at you, it's not even a week and you've already fallen for her," Spencer said."It never occurred to me that Clyde Martin, who used to be chased by women, is now the one chasing a woman," Andrew joked. "What's wrong with you, Clyde? Are you under some sort of spell or something?""Let me straighten out those twisted thoughts of yours, okay?" Clyde said to his friends. "Listen, I'm not chasing Callie. We have a connection, and I can feel it.""If you're not chasing her, why are we here right now?" Spencer asked with a sly grin on his face."I just need to tell her something," Clyde reasoned with his colleagues, "why did you gu
CALLIE squealed and rocked on her bed, disgusted with herself. She still couldn't believe what she and Clyde did that day.(Flashback)For some unknown reason, Callie was unable to break free from Clyde's kiss. Instead of pushing him away, she turned a blind eye and kissed him back. She went back to her senses when she felt the smile on his lips. She immediately drew back and stared at him, stunned. "Hey, are you all right?" Clyde asked her worriedly. He took another step closer to her, but she didn't let him get near and dashed to her house.(End of flashback)"Get a grip on yourself, Callie!" she mumbled to herself as she felt her cheeks burn. She fixed her gaze on the ceiling. She hadn't realized she was already biting her lower lip while thinking about Clyde."It wasn't supposed to feel like this."*****Clyde's smile remained on his lips until he returned home. The moment he and Callie kissed was still fresh in his imagination."Did you get into another fight?!" his Papa Herman
CALLIE turned her back on Clyde with a heavy heart. At that moment, she was filled with sadness and frustration. Despite her denials, she was convinced that everything Clyde had shown her when they were still together was real. She could sense his sincerity. She leaned against the wall as she reached the corridor. Even though he wasn't visible from her sight, she knew Clyde was still there because she could smell and feel his presence nearby. She sighed as she rested the back of her head against the wall. Even though she knew she liked Clyde, she couldn't tell him because she was afraid he'd change his mind once he found out who she really was."I'm sorry Clyde but I believe this is the right thing to do."*****"FINALLY you're back to your old self!" Andrew exclaimed to Clyde as he entered the bar with Marie, the woman he had just met at another bar the day before.Clyde smiled and stared at Marie, patting her waist. He led his date to the couch, where they sat next to each other. A
"WHAT are you doing here?" Callie growled at Clyde as she pulled him to the corner of their living room.Clyde smiled, placing his mouth to Callie's ear, and whispered, "Obviously, to get your parents' permission to court you."Callie locked her gaze on Clyde. "What?" she exclaimed, stunned by his boldness in facing her parents.Clyde's face became calm, and he stiffened his posture. He had intended to dress nicely to impress Callie's parents."As I've already mentioned before, Callie, I will go to any length to prove that my intentions to you are genuine."Callie immediately averted her face from Clyde when she felt the heat on her cheeks. Why do his sweet words have such an impact on her?Clyde saw Callie's reaction and can't help but grin. No matter how much she tries to hide it, he can still see through her eyes and gestures her true feelings for him."I've already told you, Clyde, I have no plans of having a boyfriend."The corner of Clyde's mouth slightly raised as if he was teas
MERCY stepped in front of Callie to cover up her appearance from Clyde. She turned to see Clyde and his companion pursuing the man who had attempted to harm her and Callie. Clyde didn't seem to notice the change in Callie's appearance, which made Mercy feel relieved. She cupped her hands around Callie's face. Her golden eyes were sharply focused on nothingness, and her body trembled in rage. She also started to develop white fur on her cheeks and arms.Mercy called out to Callie several times, but she didn't respond."Callie, honey, look at me!" she shook, almost begged, but she didn't respond. "Please, no!""Mrs. Mercy," Clyde called out. She was surprised to see him return to them so quickly. She tried to pull Callie away, but Simeon appeared in front of her."Calista!" Simeon yells and slaps Callie, causing her to fall off the stand.Callie returned to her senses after receiving the strong slap from her Papa Simeon.Clyde rushed over to her and held her in both arms."Simeon! Why
"ALTHAIA, look who's here!" Henry exclaimed, gesticulating Marcus toward Althaia's throne.Marcus gave them a hard look."Are you not going to greet the Queen Mother?" Henry inquired of Marcus as they stops in front of Althaia.Marcus remained silent.Althaia approached Henry and Marcus from her throne. "It's been a while..." She was dazed when she inhaled Marcus' scent. "You smell different..." She grinned as she forcefully yanked Marcus's t-shirt near his neck. When he saw the scar on his neck, her grin grew even wider. "I can't believe you've finally become one of us! Congratulations!"Althaia returned to her throne and sat down, laughing. "It seems you're on your own this time; where is Hera?""She is too busy right now to visit," Marcus said flatly.Althaia smiled and nodded. "Oh, really? Are you sure you guys are not planning to depose me from my throne?" She stared at Marcus, waiting for him to respond, but when she saw how serious he looked, she burst out laughing. "Marcus! Wh
"I HAVE a feeling Marcus and Hera are plotting something against me," Althaia said as she slid into Henry's arms. In the middle of the night, they lay side by side on a large bed."Just tell me what you want me to do with them, my dear queen... I'll look after those fools..." Henry whispered with his eyes closed.Althaia smiled and set her eyes on Henry. Her lips touched Henry's, causing him to smile."For now, let's just keep an eye on Marcus," Althaia said softly, hugging Henry tightly and deciding to sleep as well.*****CALLIE went down to the kitchen to make camomile tea because she couldn't sleep. She looked at the swords on the wall after making tea. She instantly smiled because she remembered Clyde. She was walking back to her room when she noticed a light shining through the doorway into their basement. She is certain Simeon is in there.Simeon was the only one who goes down there frequently because almost everything in there belonged to him. Some of the items inside are weap
Clyde was taken aback by Callie's request to run away home with her. To be sure she was serious about what she had just said, he gave her a long look. From her seat, Callie could see the worry on Clyde's face and hear the thunderous thud of his heart. After her talk with Hera the day before, she decided to leave Duncan Mills and the people who were a part of her life there so that they wouldn't get entangled in the threat between her and Althaia. She made a fake laugh to lift Clyde's mood. "I was just kidding."Clyde breathed a sigh of relief and burst out laughing too. "You got me there for a second."Callie grinned and locked her gaze on Clyde. "But, if what I've said is true... Are you going to do that for me?"Clyde laughed and leaned back in his chair, arms crossed. "You wouldn't do that, Callie. I know you cherish your parents and would never hurt their feelings."Callie groaned, her gaze drawn to the towering shelves beside the librarian's office. "You think too highly of me, Cl
ALTHAIA gaped in shock as she saw Calista's clothes laid out on the floor in front of her. She took a deep breath she focused on Henry.Henry snorted bitterly. "I can tell that something's going on just by looking at your reaction... Why are you trying to find a dead person?"She turned her head away and fidgeted on the throne she was seated in."She's still alive, isn't she?" Henry asked again. She clutched to her throne with both hands. The day Calista made sure to her that she had no ambitions to claim back the throne, she opted not to tell Henry about her being alive since she knows that he will kill her because he believes she will become a threat to her reign. Henry, who had a dark appearance, walked up to Althaia, put his hands on her throne, and leaned down to look her in the eyes.He asked once again, "She's at Duncan Mills, right?"Althaia gulped once more as she continued to hold her breath and look at Henry. "H-Henry, I made sure she won't come back here to us. We don't h
"SHE'S calling," Hera announced to Marcus as Callie's name appeared on her cell phone screen.Hera checked out the entire site after their battle with Esteban to ensure they were the only ones there. She discovered an abandoned tiny cottage in the middle of the woods as she strolled around. She brought Marcus there to treat his wounds.Hera laid the wet cloth she had used to clean Marcus' wounds aside and picked up the cell phone from the floor, hesitating whether to answer Callie's call."Talk to her, I'm sure she's worried," Marcus muttered weakly, turning to the open window and looking out at the darkening sky.Hera sighed and nodded before answering the phone. "Calista?"Callie did not respond. Hera called her name again, but all she heard was a sigh."I'm with Marcus right now. We just went somewhere for a little while.""Hi, Calista!" Marcus attempted to sound happy even though the large wound in his neck pained as he spoke.["Are you guys all right?"] Calista finally spoke.Marc
MARCUS turned around in an alley after noticing Esteban following him. He didn't know Esteban, but he was certain he was Henry and Althaia's servant because he could smell his werewolf nature. He went through a few more alleys. When he got out and had gone over a long distance, he came to a halt next to a large garbage can and turned around to see how close Esteban was because his scent had become stronger, implying that he was much closer to him now. He was taken aback when he did not see him. He knew he is still there because he could feel his presence. He looked once again, but couldn't find him. He could only see looming hills and trees. As he turned to face the opposite direction, Esteban's smiling face appeared suddenly in front of him, almost knocking him off his feet.Leaning against the garbage can, Esteban crossed his arms and asked, grinning widely, "Am I the one you're looking for?""What do you want from me?" Marcus asked, still reeling from the shock.Esteban scratched
"HEY, are you okay?" Clyde asked when he glanced at Callie from the passenger seat. He noticed that her eyes were fixed on the road ahead of them and that she appeared to be deep in thought.Callie turned to face him with a small smile. "I'm just concerned about something. But don't worry, it's nothing serious.""Did something happen last night after I left?" Clyde asked after a nod.Clyde noticed Callie's hesitation as a result of what he said. Callie tilted down and played with her fingers."Nothing," Callie lied, looking out the window.Clyde frowned, becoming even more intrigued. "You're keeping something from me."Callie returned her gaze to him, guilt on her face and sadness in her eyes."It's written all over your face," he continued.Callie sighed and cracked a weak smile. "There is someone I want you to meet."He grinned and snorted. "Is that a boy?" he jokingly inquired.Callie laughed at his response. He smiled as well because her face had finally brightened.Even though Cl
"HOW did you find me? Are you with Althaia? She was here a while ago," Callie asked Hera. She shut the door of her room and guided Hera to sit on her bed. She smiled at her and tightly gripped her hand.Hera, who had just stopped crying, sniffed and wiped her tear-stained cheeks. She looked at Callie while shaking her head. "I'm not with her, but she might be here because she learned about the plan I and Marcus intended."Callie smiled when she heard the name of her friend Marcus. "Marcus? He's looking for me too?"Hera simply responded with a nod. Then, recalling the state of the two's relationship, Callie asked, "How is he?" and teased Hera. "How are the two of you doing?"She received a hesitant smile from Hera, which made her pout and wonder."He has become like us," Hera confessed as she lowered her head.Callie made a puzzled expression. "What do you mean? He's now a werewolf too?"Hera nodded again.Callie's shocked eyes widened. "But how? Are you the one who made him like us?"
HERA noticed that her phone's battery was dead and put it in her pocket out of frustration. She intended to call Marcus and let him know she had obtained Calista's address. It was already after ten o'clock in the evening, therefore it was fairly quiet and Hera only encountered a few people on the narrow street leading to Calista's home. She was walking with a smile on her face that wouldn't go away because she was so excited to see her best friend again. She smiled even more when she saw Calista's large house from a distance. She sped up her pace, but quickly came to a halt and hid behind a nearby parked car when she noticed a familiar woman opposite Calista's house's front door. Her eyes widened in alarm when she realized who that woman was. It was Althaia!Hera's mind was immediately filled with questions. What brings Althaia to Duncan Mills? And how did she learn about Calista?Hera's fear spread quickly in her thoughts through the various scenarios playing to her mind. She was wor
"HERA, come on, pick up your phone," Marcus said, holding his phone up to his ear. He has attempted to contact Hera several times, but she has not returned his calls. While waiting for a ride to Duncan Mills, he grew restless by the side of the dark road. He was worried because he needed to warn Hera about Althaia. The evening Marcus and Anton had their first meeting, Anton decided to inform Althaia of Marcus' information regarding the whereabouts of his daughter Hera, their plans to find Calista, and their intention to depose Althaia as their queen. Due to his belief that Althaia is more powerful than Calista, he reasoned that doing so would make their situation much safer. In return for the information he gave Althaia, Anton requested that she spare Hera's life and only punish her with a non-death sentence. As soon as Marcus noticed a tricycle slowly approaching, he waved his hand.He got into the small vehicle and asked the old driver, "Sir, can you take me to the bus terminal?"The
THE RESIDENTS are enjoying the Duncan Mills Festival. The place is brightly decorated, and the streets are bustling with people."Clyde, try this one!" Callie smiled as she took the scary mask merchandise from a roadside stall and handed it to Clyde.Clyde immediately did as Callie instructed and donned the mask. "Do I appear frightening enough now?"Callie laughed and grabbed another mask, which she put on as well."Are you going to buy them?" the female vendor inquired sternly.Callie and Clyde both winced, removed their masks, and ran away laughing."That sales lady was rude," Clyde said, referring to the vendor who had been rude to them. They're now eating street food on the side of the road while watching people dance in the street.Callie laughed as she finished her fish cake. "Leave her alone; maybe she's just having a bad day."Clyde nodded, biting into his food. "Maybe."They ordered more food and chatted more."Calista..."Callie stopped eating and looked around when she hear
