I arrived at school this morning, my face beaming with smiles as I embraced my beautiful friends. Conversation was sparse among us, so we didn't waste much time. Upon entering the classroom, I immediately noticed Alexander's absence.

"Hello, Yvonne," Anne greeted, sending a wink my way. I was taken aback; we weren't even friends. Grace and Lora shot me puzzled looks.

"Why is she suddenly saying hello to you?" Grace inquired.

I shrugged in confusion. "I don't know, but if she's trying to be friends, I certainly don't need her friendship."

Turning my attention, I searched for Alexander. Standing up, I walked straight to Drake's seat behind.

I couldn't help but notice the furious glare from Susan, who sat near Helen. Ignoring her stare, I approached Drake's desk, where he greeted me with a smile.

"Hello, Yvonne," his face lit up.

"Hey, how are you doing?" I replied, aiming for politeness.

"I'm okay... what's up with you?" he shrugged.

"I'm fine," I grinned, nodding in response.

Alexander stood with Anne at the corner, her hands all over him. Helen approached him. "Can I have a word with you, Alexander?" she asked. "What for?" Anne yelled. Helen glared at her. "I wasn't talking to you, bitch!" Anne smiled, folding her arms. Alexander intervened, "Hey, calm down. Let me talk to her." Anne shrugged as Alexander moved away to a corner with Helen. "Geraldine wants to see you in her office," Helen informed him. "And why?" Alexander inquired. "I don't know," Helen replied. Alexander nodded, "Fine." As he turned to leave, Helen grabbed his hand. "Really? What do you see in Anne that you don't see in me?" she questioned, moving closer and locking eyes with him. Alexander smiled. "I know you like me. Why lie to yourself by sticking with her?" Helen pressed. "Some things are better left unsaid, pretty," Alexander said, walking away. Helen hit her hand against the wall in anger. "I don't get it. How did she survive that poison? She should be dead by now

Larry and his friends sauntered down to the basketball court, their shoulders held high, feeling as if they owned the world, completely unaware of anyone else around them. They tossed the ball back and forth until they spotted Anne standing at the corner, arms folded. Neo nudged Victor to get his attention, as Larry hadn't noticed Anne yet. With a grin, Larry approached Anne. "What's going on with you guys this morning? You are..." Anne began. "Save your compliments, Anne. We know we look good already; we don't need to be reminded," Larry interrupted, raising his hand dismissively. Anne scoffed. "Wow, I see..." Neo cleared his throat. "What do you want, Anne?" She grinned mischievously. "Do I look like I want something?" "After what happened last time, you've been avoiding us. Or perhaps you don't want anyone to know that you're our accomplice?" Victor interjected. Anne laughed. "You're mistaken, boys. I'm no one's accomplice; I simply helped you out." Larry rubbed his hand u

I sat alone in the empty classroom, the echoes of departing footsteps fading as everyone headed to the cafeteria. My friends lingered, still trying to persuade me to join them. But I couldn't shake off the unease from my earlier conversation with Alexander, his disapproval of my desire to confront Larry and his friends weighing heavily on my mind. I shrugged, realizing that I would keep quiet solely because of my crush on Alexander. Otherwise, I wouldn't hesitate to take action. Someone needed to teach those bullies a lesson. Yet, the looming specter of my upcoming wedding next week only added to my anxiety. How was I going to go through with it? Burying my head in a stack of books on my desk, I tried to block out the conflicting thoughts swirling in my mind. "Yvonne, I'm really hungry. We need to go to the cafeteria," Lora insisted. I turned to her, frustration bubbling to the surface. "I don't recall asking you not to go," I snapped. "You know we can't leave without you, Yvon

I narrowed my eyes at them skeptically. "If you think you can trick me into helping you witches, think again," I warned, refusing to be manipulated. Lucy reached out, gently grasping my hand, her expression sincere as she shook her head slowly. I found myself entranced, my gaze drifting down to her lips, which were as red as mine. "No one is trying to deceive you, Yvonne. We genuinely need Catherine Brooks' help. We thought we could handle everything on our own, but unfortunately, we can't," Lucy explained earnestly. I nodded slowly, processing her words. "I see. So, what's the deal?" “You help us deal with Father Bosco, and we'll assist you in making the moon disappear. Who needs the moon anyway when we have the sun shining during the day?" Geraldine chimed in. I sighed, considering their proposal carefully. "Why can't you fulfill my request first, and then I'll convince my mother to meet with you witches?" I countered. Martha exchanged a glance with Lucy and Geraldine befo

Alexander just got home. He walked straight to the couch in the living room and sat quietly. Drake noticed he was back and looked down at him from the stairs. "And he's finally home..." Drake said, climbing down the stairs. Alexander glanced at him and scoffed. Drake sat on a couch opposite him. "Are you going to tell me what you have been up to lately, or do you want me to fish you out myself?" Alexander rolled his eyes in contempt. "Who cares about you fishing me out, Drake? I have more important things to worry about." "Like your little girlfriend Anne?" Drake arched his brow. "Leave Anne out of your drama," Alexander said. Drake cleared his throat and adjusted on the seat. "You know, you might be a creepy or cunning brother, but I know you too well. It's obvious you didn't turn Anne into your puppet. What exactly do you want from her?" Alexander smiled, spreading his arms apart. "Isn't it obvious? I am in love." Drake grunted, "I see the way you look at Yvonne, so don't eve

  • Moonlight Queen    Yvonne’s POV- Where three roads meet

I drove home slowly after dropping Lora and Grace off at their respective houses. I was worried about Susan's death; it was strange and extremely scary. I wondered if I should tell my mother about it, but the fear of not being allowed to come to school anymore was choking me. I shook my head as my car disappeared from the road. Pulling into my compound, I parked my car. As I made my way to my room, I remembered my meeting with the witches, which made me feel a little excited, albeit with mixed feelings. Walking into the living room, I found my father and Kayne. My mood darkened, and I felt extremely upset. I greeted my father in the warmest way I could and walked away. Kayne followed me and blocked me down the hallway. "Yvonne, I thought you must have forgiven me by now," he said. I looked up at his face and scoffed, "I didn't say I'm still mad at you." He glanced down at my finger. "But you aren't wearing my ring." I raised my finger at once, recalling my mother's warning abo

Throughout the meeting, which included Alexander, Larry, and his friends, they discussed how to collaborate as allies to bring down Susan's killer, Father Bosco, and the werewolves. Helen expressed her sadness, saying, "I can't deny the fact that I miss Susan so much." Lucy, moving to a seat, voiced her frustration. "And Geraldine just believed Alexander the moment he said he had nothing to do with Susan's death." Geraldine glared at Lucy. "Why would he be lying about it in the first place? We both know that he always owns up to his crimes." "What if he decided not to own up to this one because he knows he would lose the support of the witches? Or were you his partner in this crime?" Lucy retorted angrily. Geraldine's eyes widened in shock. "How dare you accuse me of killing one of our own?" "The spell was conducted in your altar, Elder Geraldine. It was meant to secure our lives from being tampered with by Alexander. If it was broken, it could only have been done by you or

A lightning siege enveloped my mother and the witches in a circled form, making it impossible for my mother to escape. I saw the fear in her eyes and realized she was in grave danger. "What have you done, Geraldine?" my mother yelled. "What I should have done a long time ago. To defeat our enemies, we must take all that you have!" Geraldine replied, envy gleaming in her eyes. Fear surged through me, and I ran toward the scene, but an invisible barrier threw me back. I fell, hurting my elbows. "Mother!" Then they started fighting. Lights and fire flew left and right, and it quickly became clear that my mother was losing her strength. Geraldine and the other witches must have cast a spell to drain my mother's powers before I arrived. I noticed my mother growing weaker. It was four against one, and she was clearly struggling. Tears streamed down my face as I yelled, begging them to stop. "Please, stop! You're killing her!" But my pleas fell on deaf ears. The intensity of the battle

Emelda yelled, her face contorted with fury. "Beware, Emelda, I can read your mind clearly," Catherine smiled, a glint of mischief in her eyes. Emelda was taken aback. "What?" Catherine laughed, a cold, knowing laugh. "Oh, you don't know, do you? He buried them hastily, then fled the scene before the police and fire services arrived. Meanwhile, in his throne room, Arthur was pacing up and down, his face etched with worry and stress. The group of werewolves he had sent to find Yvonne finally walked in. Arthur spun around, his eyes filled with hope. "Where is she?" he demanded, his gaze darting behind them, hoping to see Yvonne. The men shook their heads sadly. "I am sorry, but we could not find her," one of them said. Arthur's face contorted in disbelief. "What do you mean by that? I told you not to return to this fort until that girl is found." "We are sorry, Your Majesty," another werewolf interjected, "but we

She turned back to Geraldine, gently caressing her cheek with a touch that felt both tender and menacing. "Yes, Geraldine, you do look like my wretched, stupid mother—the same woman who willingly sacrificed me to the ocean because her dearly beloved vampire lover craved more power. The same one who polluted the ocean and caused the deaths of countless sea creatures, including mermaids," Anne said, her eyes shifting to a vivid, unnatural blue, reflecting the fury of the ocean depths. Geraldine's shock was palpable. She stumbled backward, her body trembling uncontrollably, as if the very ground beneath her had turned to ice. "You're... you're... suppose

I sobbed uncontrollably, cursing myself over and over again for being so foolish. "Yvonne, please, I am not like them. I have never supported my brother's evil deeds. I am a total disappointment to my family, the Moonlight pack, and all werewolves!" I screamed, my words heavy with anger and despair. Drake shook his head, hurt evident in his eyes. I knew I had wounded him deeply with my harsh words, but my anger was uncontrollable. "Yvonne, I am sorry," he repeated, his voice filled with remorse. • Moonlight Queen    Yvonne POV- Moment of truth

I drove for what felt like an eternity, putting as much distance between myself and danger as possible. Even though I was still within Latan City, I couldn't shake the feeling of being hunted. This was the only place I'd ever known, and the thought of surviving beyond its borders seemed daunting. Finally, I stumbled upon a guest house and parked my car securely in their garage, grateful for the added layer of protection it offered. I covered it with a blanket, ensuring it wouldn't attract any unwanted attention. After securing a room and locking myself in, I took a moment to catch my breath. The accommodations were far from luxurious, but they provided a safe haven for the time being. As I sat on the bed, trying to calm my racing heart, my phone began to ring. Each vibration sent a shiver down my spine. I hesitated, knowing it was Drake desperately trying to reach me. For hours, I ignored his calls and messages, fearing that any contact would reveal my location. But as hunger gnawe

I sat in class for what seemed like an eternity before everyone finally cleared out for the cafeteria. Instructing my friends to go ahead, I rested my head on the desk for a moment. When I lifted it, I noticed my vision was slightly blurred. Blinking with difficulty, my eyes felt heavy, so I rubbed them with my hands. Drake entered the classroom. "Aren't you joining us for lunch?" he asked. I managed a smile in response. He leaned down and kissed my lips. "I'll grab lunch soon," I replied weakly. "You go ahead. I'll catch up." He nodded, giving my back a reassuring rub. "Don't worry. You'll be fine." As he walked away, I exhaled deeply. Drake would make an incredible mate and father. His caring nature only deepened my love for him. But right now, my mind was overwhelmed. I fretted over my own well-being and the pregnancy. How would I break the news to my family? Could I even bear to face it, or would I have to live with the secret? I shook my head, knowing my father would never a

Now understanding the depth of Alexander and Geraldine's history, Helen ran her hands through her hair, pondering if she could ever move on from Alexander. As Drake was leaving, she hurried after him, grasping his hand. "What do you think Alexander wants from Anne?" she inquired. He shrugged. "I don't have the time to find out. Maybe you should help me figure it out," he suggested before continuing on his way. Lost in thought, Helen stood for a moment before making her way into the bar. Anne noticed her approach while serving a customer a glass of wine. "What do you want?" Anne asked, glaring at her. Helen placed her hand on the counter, chuckling. "This is a bar, a public place. You shouldn't be asking me such a stupid question." "Are you that dumb? I was only asking what you'd like to drink," Anne retorted, rolling her eyes in disgust. "Then you should have sounded a lot nicer, or I wouldn't mind reporting you to your boss. Trust me, you don't want to lose your job," Helen

I looked up, and there he was—my man, Drake. All eyes were on him as he strode in, exuding an aura of charm and confidence, especially with his sunglasses accentuating his handsome features. Throwing my arms around his neck, I pulled him into a tight hug, savoring the moment as he reciprocated with a lingering kiss. Giggles escaped me, feeling a sense of contentment, even as I noticed Alexander passing by with Anne, their faces clouded with evident displeasure. But their opinions mattered little to me; my happiness was all that mattered. Hours later... While other students made their way to the cafeteria, I steered Drake into the men's restroom, craving a moment of privacy. "What's up?" he inquired as I locked the door behind us, his hand inching towards me, anticipating a romantic encounter. "Stop, Drake. I need to discuss something serious," I stated firmly,

A week later, I was inseparable from Drake; we went everywhere together at school, always accompanied by my two friends. Yes, we were dating. I never imagined I would be with Drake, but it was happening. I didn't love him as much as I loved Alexander, but I felt a strong attraction to him. He was a genuinely nice guy, and I thought giving him a chance was the right thing to do. As days passed, I found myself growing to love him more. Drake looked happier than ever since coming to Latan City University to study. He was now the love of my life, and thinking about him excited me. I started to see him as the most handsome man in school, and maybe I was already falling deeper in love with him than I ever imagined. However, people like Anne and Alexander didn't seem pleased to see us together. I didn't know why, but I didn't care to find out. In fact, I was glad that my relationship with Drake was bothering them. Helen walked into the classroom as I was packing my books into my bag. I wa
