Drake burst into laughter. "Isn't this exciting?" he thought, adjusting his shirt.

"And what's so funny?" Alexander asked from behind.

Drake turned around. "Your lifestyle of sipping blood from a glass cup has made you so vulnerable; you can't resist the slightest sight of it."

"Neither can you," Alexander said, walking closer to him.

Drake scoffed. "I see..."

"You're discussing me with that werewolf, aren't you?" Alexander looked upset.

Drake smirked. "She was just telling me what happened when you left me daggered in my room, damn it!"

"Have you seen Anne?" Alexander asked.

Drake chortled. "So you could explain why you ran off when someone was hitting her?"

"It was only a question, Drake!" Alexander yelled.

"I didn't see her! Besides, the last time I checked, I am no one's bodyguard," Drake walked away, heading outside the school compound to see what was happening.

"Looking for me, boyfriend?" Anne inquired, standing behind him.

Alexander shut his eyes without turning back to look at

Drake followed us out of the shop and hopped into my car. As usual, I dropped off my friends first, leaving Drake and me alone in the car. We sat in silence for a while, the quietness starting to feel suffocating.Drake cleared his throat, breaking the silence. "I noticed you like my brother," he began.I glanced at him sharply, keeping my focus on the road. "You did?"He nodded. "Well, after what happened the other night, I was sure that you really do like him. Am I right?" he asked.Blushing, I admitted, "Yeah, you're right. But unfortunately, your brother doesn't seem to like me. I know it's because of that Anne girl."Drake acknowledged, "You mean his girlfriend?"Rolling my eyes, I corrected, "Fake girlfriend, you mean to say? Drake, I always get what I want, and I want your brother. I'm definitely going to have him."Drake gasped. "I thought you gave up on him before."Glancing at him, I replied, "Did I ever say that?""I noticed you weren't giving him that look today," Drake rem

My mother watched in silence, her expression unreadable. Grace's breaths came quick and sharp, hinting at her unease."What is it, Grace?" I interjected, my tone tinged with impatience."You wouldn't believe what I'm about to tell you, Yvonne..." she began, her voice trailing off.I sighed heavily, already anticipating that it wasn't anything substantial, just another piece of gossip."Grace just loves her gossip," I mused, running a hand through my forehead while keeping the phone pressed to my ear."For heaven's sake, Grace, who doesn't already know that Anita will be hanged before the day is out?" I exclaimed, feeling thoroughly disappointed. "Besides, I showed you the news earlier today at the ice cream shop.""I know, Yvonne, but this is different," Grace insisted, her voice carrying a note of urgency."How so?" I inquired, my eyes widening with curiosity."The vice chancellor was found dead in his apartment this evening," she revealed.I leaped to my feet, startling my mother, bu

My face contorted into a difficult frown as my mother announced, "She'll be ready in the next fifteen minutes."I gasped in disbelief. Fifteen minutes felt like too short a time for me to compose myself and swallow my pride before facing that insufferable jerk.My father's gaze bore into me, and I bowed my head sadly. He was well aware of my reluctance, but he would never accept a refusal. He didn't care if he had to coerce me into complying with his wishes."Fifteen minutes, then," he declared before exiting the room and closing the door behind him.I looked away, seething with anger. "You must get ready," my mother urged me.I scoffed, feeling frustrated. "Mom, did you see that? He didn't even bother to ask me about school," I complained bitterly. My mother smiled reassuringly. "Come on, Yvonne, that's my responsibility.""No, it's not. Both parents should raise their children and care for them together. It's not solely one person's duty," I argued defiantly."That's your opinion, Yv

As my parents exited, closing the door behind them, Kayne turned to me, rubbing the back of his neck nervously. "You look beautiful today, Yvonne," he remarked.I rolled my eyes, his attempt at flattery falling flat. Of course, I knew I looked beautiful; he didn't need to remind me in a transparent bid to win my favor. When he reached out to touch me, I instinctively pushed his hand away, moving to the safety of the sofa, where I sat with my legs crossed. His eyes widened in surprise. "Are you still angry with me over what happened the other day?" he inquired, his tone laced with confusion.I glared at him, emitting a low hiss. Who did he think he was, expecting me to forgive and forget after his reprehensible behavior?Undeterred, he joined me on the sofa, attempting to engage me in conversation. "Yvonne, in case you've forgotten, you attacked me. You broke a bottle over my head. Don't you think I deserve an apology?" he pressed, peering earnestly at my face.I scoffed derisively. "Yo

I chuckled softly at Matt's nervous demeanor. "Don't mind me, I tend to think aloud most times," I reassured him. He nodded, his grip on his glass tightening perceptibly. "Where's Kayne?" he inquired, a hint of concern in his voice. I shrugged indifferently. "He should be in my room, I suppose." “Alright, maybe I should go check on him, if you don't mind," Matt suggested, his unease palpable. “That's fine by me, just make sure you both leave my room soon," I replied, rising from my seat and walking away without looking back. As I left, I sensed Matt's suspicious gaze following me. A few minutes later, he rose from his seat and headed straight to my room. Upon entering, he was met with the sight of Kayne writhing on the floor, clutching his stomach in agony. “What happened to you?" Matt exclaimed, taken aback by the scene before him. "Just help me stand!" Kayne barked, his voice tinged with pain. With a sense of urgency, Matt assisted him to his feet and guided him to the sofa.

I grew weary of his tirade. Perhaps it was time to speak the truth. I was tired of pretending that this arranged marriage would ever work. "Father, I don't love Kayne, and I will never marry him," I cried out. “What? Are you actually saying that to my face?" he screamed, disbelief and rage coloring his voice. I no longer cared about his reaction. The least he could do was lock me up in a cage like before. Though uncomfortable, at least in there, I wouldn't have to suffer in silence anymore. “Father, you heard me! What's the point of pretending to love someone when I know I would never marry him?" I exclaimed, my voice echoing in the room as I pushed a table aside in frustration. “How dare you, Yvonne?" He screamed, his anger palpable in the air. I instinctively moved backward, sensing the danger emanating from his furious gaze as he gnashed his teeth. “For years, I've raised you for this moment. I've prepared you to be the next queen of the two packs, and all you do is rub it in

Kayne returned home, feeling pain in various parts of his body, especially his stomach. He settled comfortably in his room with a bottle of alcohol in his hand. A knock sounded at the door. "Come right in," he ordered, adjusting himself. He wasn't wearing a shirt, only his shorts, and his hairy chest, arms, and legs were clearly visible. Kayne had a well-built body that could make any woman swoon, and he was adept at flaunting it around, making the women in his pack desire him intensely. One of the maids in the house entered his room with a tray holding a plate of fruits. She bowed humbly. "The queen asked me to get you this." Kayne smiled, pointing to the table in front of him. "Keep it over there and come right to daddy," he said. She gasped. Her name was Naomi. Naomi was an eighteen -year-old omega who had recently resumed her duties in the mansion following her mother's passing. Her mother had served in the mansion before her demise. Catherine laughed, a cold, knowing laugh. "Oh, you don't know, do you? Anne disappeared in a flash, leaving Alexander alone amidst the chaos. His search for her was fruitless, and in a fit of anger and desperation, he dragged the bodies out of the house and set it ablaze. As the flames consumed the building, Alexander turned back to bury the bodies, but to his shock, only two remained. He buried them hastily, then fled the scene before the police and fire services arrived. Meanwhile, in his throne room, Arthur was pacing up and down, his face etched with worry and stress. The group of werewolves he had sent to find Yvonne finally walked in. Arthur spun around, his eyes filled with hope. "Where is she?" he demanded, his gaze darting behind them, hoping to see Yvonne. The men shook their heads sadly. "I am sorry, but we could not find her," one of them said. Arthur's face contorted in disbelief. "What do you mean by that? Lucy was stunned, her eyes wide with disbelief, while Geraldine clenched her fists, her knuckles turning white as she gritted her teeth in a barely contained rage. "Who are you?" Lucy screamed, her voice echoing through the room. "Good question, Lucy," Anne replied with a chilling smile, her eyes gleaming with malevolent amusement. She turned back to Geraldine, gently caressing her cheek with a touch that felt both tender and menacing. "Yes, Geraldine, you do look like my wretched, stupid mother—the same woman who willingly sacrificed me to the ocean because her dearly beloved vampire lover craved more power. The same one who polluted the ocean and caused the deaths of countless sea creatures, including mermaids," Anne said, her eyes shifting to a vivid, unnatural blue, reflecting the fury of the ocean depths. Geraldine's shock was palpable. She stumbled backward, her body trembling uncontrollably, as if the very ground beneath her had turned to ice. "You're... you're... suppose

I sobbed uncontrollably, cursing myself over and over again for being so foolish. "Yvonne, please, I am not like them. I have never supported my brother's evil deeds. My mother was a werewolf; I am also like you," Drake pleaded. "You are nothing like me, Drake. You are an abomination, and now I am about to give birth to another one. I am a total disappointment to my family, the Moonlight pack, and all werewolves!" I screamed, my words heavy with anger and despair. Drake shook his head, hurt evident in his eyes. I knew I had wounded him deeply with my harsh words, but my anger was uncontrollable. "Yvonne, I am sorry," he repeated, his voice filled with remorse. I cried like a woman who had lost her husband to sudden death, my hair a tangled mess as I repeatedly struck the wooden floor in anguish. He approached me, offering solace in his embrace. I knew he was genuinely remorseful, but how could I come to terms with the mess I had gotten myself into? A few hours later, my sobs su

  • Moonlight Queen    Yvonne POV- Moment of truth

I drove for what felt like an eternity, putting as much distance between myself and danger as possible. Even though I was still within Latan City, I couldn't shake the feeling of being hunted. This was the only place I'd ever known, and the thought of surviving beyond its borders seemed daunting. Finally, I stumbled upon a guest house and parked my car securely in their garage, grateful for the added layer of protection it offered. I covered it with a blanket, ensuring it wouldn't attract any unwanted attention. After securing a room and locking myself in, I took a moment to catch my breath. The accommodations were far from luxurious, but they provided a safe haven for the time being. As I sat on the bed, trying to calm my racing heart, my phone began to ring. Each vibration sent a shiver down my spine. I hesitated, knowing it was Drake desperately trying to reach me. For hours, I ignored his calls and messages, fearing that any contact would reveal my location. But as hunger gnawe

I sat in class for what seemed like an eternity before everyone finally cleared out for the cafeteria. Instructing my friends to go ahead, I rested my head on the desk for a moment. When I lifted it, I noticed my vision was slightly blurred. Blinking with difficulty, my eyes felt heavy, so I rubbed them with my hands. Drake entered the classroom. "Aren't you joining us for lunch?" he asked. I managed a smile in response. He leaned down and kissed my lips. "I'll grab lunch soon," I replied weakly. "You go ahead. I'll catch up." He nodded, giving my back a reassuring rub. "Don't worry. You'll be fine." As he walked away, I exhaled deeply. Drake would make an incredible mate and father. His caring nature only deepened my love for him. But right now, my mind was overwhelmed. I fretted over my own well-being and the pregnancy. How would I break the news to my family? Could I even bear to face it, or would I have to live with the secret? I shook my head, knowing my father would never a

  • Moonlight Queen    Peacekeeping

Now understanding the depth of Alexander and Geraldine's history, Helen ran her hands through her hair, pondering if she could ever move on from Alexander. As Drake was leaving, she hurried after him, grasping his hand. "What do you think Alexander wants from Anne?" she inquired. He shrugged. "I don't have the time to find out. Maybe you should help me figure it out," he suggested before continuing on his way. Lost in thought, Helen stood for a moment before making her way into the bar. Anne noticed her approach while serving a customer a glass of wine. "What do you want?" Anne asked, glaring at her. Helen placed her hand on the counter, chuckling. "This is a bar, a public place. You shouldn't be asking me such a stupid question." "Are you that dumb? I was only asking what you'd like to drink," Anne retorted, rolling her eyes in disgust. "Then you should have sounded a lot nicer, or I wouldn't mind reporting you to your boss. Trust me, you don't want to lose your job," Helen

I looked up, and there he was—my man, Drake. All eyes were on him as he strode in, exuding an aura of charm and confidence, especially with his sunglasses accentuating his handsome features. A smile crept across my face, reassured in my decision to be with him, despite the complication of carrying his child. Throwing my arms around his neck, I pulled him into a tight hug, savoring the moment as he reciprocated with a lingering kiss. Giggles escaped me, feeling a sense of contentment, even as I noticed Alexander passing by with Anne, their faces clouded with evident displeasure. But their opinions mattered little to me; my happiness was all that mattered. Hours later... While other students made their way to the cafeteria, I steered Drake into the men's restroom, craving a moment of privacy. "What's up?" he inquired as I locked the door behind us, his hand inching towards me, anticipating a romantic encounter. "Stop, Drake. I need to discuss something serious," I stated firmly,

A week later, I was inseparable from Drake; we went everywhere together at school, always accompanied by my two friends. Yes, we were dating. I never imagined I would be with Drake, but it was happening. I didn't love him as much as I loved Alexander, but I felt a strong attraction to him. He was a genuinely nice guy, and I thought giving him a chance was the right thing to do. As days passed, I found myself growing to love him more. Drake looked happier than ever since coming to Latan City University to study. He was now the love of my life, and thinking about him excited me. I started to see him as the most handsome man in school, and maybe I was already falling deeper in love with him than I ever imagined. However, people like Anne and Alexander didn't seem pleased to see us together. I didn't know why, but I didn't care to find out. In fact, I was glad that my relationship with Drake was bothering them. Helen walked into the classroom as I was packing my books into my bag. I wa
