Alexander walked into their apartment, his forehead sweaty as he slumped onto the couch. “I can’t believe I wasted an entire day because of a human,” he grumbled.

Drake chuckled. “Embarrassing, isn’t it? Some days can be like that. I only wish I had hit them harder.”

“I didn’t even lay a finger on him or any of them. What’s his problem with me?” Alexander asked, frustration evident in his tone.

“I heard he has a crush on Yvonne Brooks,” Drake replied, a sly smile playing on his lips.

Alexander scoffed. “Now it’s getting interesting, isn’t it?”

Drake moved to the refrigerator, laughing. “I know where we can find him. Maybe we can ask him if he’s ever been to a psychiatrist hospital.”

Alexander shook his head. “Not yet, brother. If anything were to happen to them now, we’d be the prime suspects. Let him enjoy his victory for now.”

“We could make it look like an accident,” Drake suggested, chuckling.

Alexander shook his head again. “Let’s not be too hasty, brother.”

Her aunt grabbed her arm. “I know why you’re here, but just make sure you don’t bring any trouble my way, or I won’t hesitate to deny being your guardian.” Anne chuckled. “You don’t have to worry about anything, Aunt. I’ll do my job slowly and quietly and vanish before anyone understands what’s happened. If you don’t mind, I have work to do.” Her aunt tightened her grip. “Bringing boys to my house was never part of what you came for, was it?” “It’s a gradual process. I’m only playing the cards the right way, just to save your ass while I’m gone. Or do you want it the rough way?” Anne retorted. Her aunt was speechless as Anne snatched her arm away. “I guess not. So allow me to do this my own way and quit monitoring me.” Her aunt scoffed. “Who said I’m monitoring you, Anne?” “Oh, yes, you are. Stop it. I know exactly what I’m doing,” Anne shot back. Her phone rang, and she picked it up. “Hey, Alex, you called back.” “Sure, will you be at the bar today?” Alexander asked. “Of cour

I tiptoed into my room, my footsteps muffled by the thick carpeting, careful not to alert anyone after parking my car in the garage. I knew I was in for trouble, especially if my father had heard about what happened at school today. Quickly, I locked the door behind me and sank onto my bed. “You forget, Yvonne, that your mother possesses powers beyond your understanding. She can sense you from afar,” my mother’s voice sliced through the silence, her figure materializing in the dim light of my room. Frustration gnawed at me as I rested my head in my hands. “Having a witch for a mother is beyond exasperating,” I thought bitterly. “Yvonne, sneaking into the house is not the solution,” she admonished, drawing closer. “Mother, it’s incredibly unfair when you just appear like that,” I retorted, my anger simmering just below the surface. “Perhaps fairness will be a discussion for another time, once you’ve explained why you received detention today,” she replied, folding her arms across h

But Kayne seemed determined to mold me into his image, to shape me according to his desires and preferences. As I attempted to speak, my lips trembled uncertainly. I wasn’t sure how to articulate my feelings, and before I could find the right words, he handed me a glass of wine. I accepted it with a grateful smile, using the drink as a distraction from the turmoil within me.“The wedding is only a few weeks away,” he remarked, breaking the uneasy silence.Pretending not to hear him, I kept my eyes closed, savoring the wine in my mouth.“Yvonne, did you hear what I said?” he inquired, his tone tinged with annoyance.Startled, I pulled the cup away from my lips. “What was that?”He sighed, shooting me a knowing glance. He saw through my pretense, understanding that I had heard him all along. “The wedding is in a few weeks.”“Oh, wonderful! We should celebrate,” I exclaimed, reac

The shattered glass littered the living room as both Kayne and I stood there, bleeding from the altercation. Matt’s sudden arrival added to the chaos. “What the hell is wrong with the both of you?” Matt’s voice trembled with fear and frustration. “Stay out of this!” Kayne’s shout echoed through the room as he advanced toward me, his posture aggressive. I tensed, ready to retaliate, my hands poised like claws. But Matt intervened, intercepting Kayne before he could reach me. “That’s enough, Kayne! You’ve lost it!” Matt’s firm words seemed to penetrate Kayne’s rage-induced haze, and he fell silent, eventually storming out of the mansion, his head still bleeding. I seized the opportunity to slip away before Matt could address me, retreating to the solitude of my room. Stripping off my clothes, I submerged my body in the bathtub, seeking solace in the cool water. Moments later, my mother burst into the room, her breath coming in ragged gasps. I wasn’t surprised—word of the altercatio

I couldn’t fathom his indifference to my well-being. As his daughter, shouldn’t my happiness and welfare be his utmost concern, rather than blindly adhering to traditions that threatened to shatter my life and happiness? His unwavering gaze bore into me, filled with fury that seemed to consume him. Tears streamed down my cheeks, betraying my inner turmoil. “What about what I want, Father? Doesn’t that matter to you?” I choked out, my voice trembling with emotion. He shook his head dismissively. “Nonsense! Your desires hold no weight, Yvonne. Tradition and family are paramount. You must face the consequences for your actions,” he declared, his tone unwavering. I was dumbfounded. How could he say such things to me? I had only defended myself. My mother had warned me of this earlier, but I had refused to believe it. Was my father not thinking clearly, or was he under some kind of enchantment? Turning to the men standing behind him, he issued a chilling command. “Drag her away and lock

They slammed into the wall with a thud, groaning in pain and his men who were held captive were freed at once. "How dare you, Catherine? How dare you use magic on my men?" Emelda yelled, her face contorted with fury. "Beware, Emelda, I can read your mind clearly," Catherine smiled, a glint of mischief in her eyes. Emelda was taken aback. "What?" Catherine laughed, a cold, knowing laugh. "Oh, you don't know, do you? Anne disappeared in a flash, leaving Alexander alone amidst the chaos. His search for her was fruitless, and in a fit of anger and desperation, he dragged the bodies out of the house and set it ablaze. As the flames consumed the building, Alexander turned back to bury the bodies, but to his shock, only two remained. He buried them hastily, then fled the scene before the police and fire services arrived. Meanwhile, in his throne room, Arthur was pacing up and down, his face etched with worry and stress. The group of werewolves he had sent to find Yvonne finally walked in. Arthur spun around, his eyes filled with hope. "Where is she?" he demanded, his gaze darting behind them, hoping to see Yvonne. The men shook their heads sadly. "I am sorry, but we could not find her," one of them said. Arthur's face contorted in disbelief. "What do you mean by that? I told you not to return to this fort until that girl is found." "We are sorry, Your Majesty," another werewolf interjected, "but we

Lucy screamed, her voice echoing through the room. "Good question, Lucy," Anne replied with a chilling smile, her eyes gleaming with malevolent amusement. She turned back to Geraldine, gently caressing her cheek with a touch that felt both tender and menacing. "Yes, Geraldine, you do look like my wretched, stupid mother—the same woman who willingly sacrificed me to the ocean because her dearly beloved vampire lover craved more power. The same one who polluted the ocean and caused the deaths of countless sea creatures, including mermaids," Anne said, her eyes shifting to a vivid, unnatural blue, reflecting the fury of the ocean depths. Geraldine's shock was palpable. She stumbled backward, her body trembling uncontrollably, as if the very ground beneath her had turned to ice. "You're... you're... suppose

I am a total disappointment to my family, the Moonlight pack, and all werewolves!" I screamed, my words heavy with anger and despair. Drake shook his head, hurt evident in his eyes. I knew I had wounded him deeply with my harsh words, but my anger was uncontrollable. "Yvonne, I am sorry," he repeated, his voice filled with remorse. • Moonlight Queen    Yvonne POV- Moment of truth

I drove for what felt like an eternity, putting as much distance between myself and danger as possible. Even though I was still within Latan City, I couldn't shake the feeling of being hunted. This was the only place I'd ever known, and the thought of surviving beyond its borders seemed daunting. Finally, I stumbled upon a guest house and parked my car securely in their garage, grateful for the added layer of protection it offered. I covered it with a blanket, ensuring it wouldn't attract any unwanted attention. After securing a room and locking myself in, I took a moment to catch my breath. The accommodations were far from luxurious, but they provided a safe haven for the time being. As I sat on the bed, trying to calm my racing heart, my phone began to ring. Each vibration sent a shiver down my spine. I hesitated, knowing it was Drake desperately trying to reach me. For hours, I ignored his calls and messages, fearing that any contact would reveal my location. But as hunger gnawe

I sat in class for what seemed like an eternity before everyone finally cleared out for the cafeteria. Instructing my friends to go ahead, I rested my head on the desk for a moment. When I lifted it, I noticed my vision was slightly blurred. Blinking with difficulty, my eyes felt heavy, so I rubbed them with my hands. Drake entered the classroom. "Aren't you joining us for lunch?" he asked. I managed a smile in response. He leaned down and kissed my lips. "I'll grab lunch soon," I replied weakly. "You go ahead. I'll catch up." He nodded, giving my back a reassuring rub. "Don't worry. You'll be fine." As he walked away, I exhaled deeply. Drake would make an incredible mate and father. His caring nature only deepened my love for him. But right now, my mind was overwhelmed. I fretted over my own well-being and the pregnancy. How would I break the news to my family? Could I even bear to face it, or would I have to live with the secret? I shook my head, knowing my father would never a

Now understanding the depth of Alexander and Geraldine's history, Helen ran her hands through her hair, pondering if she could ever move on from Alexander. As Drake was leaving, she hurried after him, grasping his hand. "What do you think Alexander wants from Anne?" she inquired. He shrugged. "I don't have the time to find out. Maybe you should help me figure it out," he suggested before continuing on his way. Lost in thought, Helen stood for a moment before making her way into the bar. Anne noticed her approach while serving a customer a glass of wine. "What do you want?" Anne asked, glaring at her. Helen placed her hand on the counter, chuckling. "This is a bar, a public place. You shouldn't be asking me such a stupid question." "Are you that dumb? I was only asking what you'd like to drink," Anne retorted, rolling her eyes in disgust. "Then you should have sounded a lot nicer, or I wouldn't mind reporting you to your boss. Trust me, you don't want to lose your job," Helen
