CHAPTER 3

Camila was still sobbing. She had never thought that one day she would wrong her father and be sent away from her pack. She had seen how her father had banished some of their pack members, and slowly, their pack was gradually reducing, as some Eastern Pack members even fled before the news of their sins would get to her father.

Camila was so absent-minded that she didn't notice Henry had arrived home. She was waiting to be taken to the refugee house, as she knew no one in the Western Pack, nor did she have any family there.

Camila knew that when the former Eastern Pack members her father had banished saw her in the Western Pack, they would want to have their revenge on her.

"Come down from the car," Henry's deep, masculine voice jolted Camila back to reality.

Camila swiftly snapped out of her trance and stared back at Henry, watching as he stepped down and walked to her side to pull the car door open for her.

Camila was afraid as her legs stepped down from the blue car. She hadn't even looked at the car to know it was a Porsche, as her mind was preoccupied with the fact that she had sinned and the reason for her banishment. Her father was without mercy.

"Follow me," Henry stated, and only then did Camila snap out of it. She saw that everywhere was interlocked, and she was amazed at the magnificent white mansion that stood in front of her.

"Is this the Western Pack refugee house?" Camila asked in shock. She didn't even know when they had arrived at the mansion. Henry laughed first, then coldly replied, "No."

Camila gulped. She would have thought how rich the Western Pack was to have such a magnificent building for only foreigners and werewolves without a home. But as they approached the front of the mansion, Henry had parked farther away, at the garage.

Camila was surprised at how magnificent the exterior view was. The white mansion was thrice bigger than her father's mansion. She could see the guards at the frontage as they all bowed to Henry walking in front of her.

Henry approached the frontage door, unlocked the house door, and said to her, "Wait here first."

Camila watched Henry walk into the mansion as she stood outside at the frontage, staring around and wondering what would happen to her next. She couldn't trust anyone from the Western Pack—not after all her training, and her father's lectures.

Soon two young ladies walked out of the mansion, and Camila was shocked. She had been expecting an older man, probably someone of her father's age, to step out and judge her for her sins. But the two maids simply said, "Follow us."

Camila gulped silently and followed the maids as they walked away to the back of the mansion. The two maids stopped, and one of them picked up a hose from the floor and connected the white pipe to a tap. She said to Camila, "Strip your clothes."

"My what?" Camila looked embarrassed at the fact that the two maids in blue uniforms wanted to strip her naked. She wondered what they were up to. *Did they want to prepare me for that man to sleep with me?* She pondered.

"No! I cannot strip my clothes. Please let me go, as I do not mean any harm."

Camila saw the two young ladies stare at each other. The moon symbol on their foreheads told her they were born and loyal servants to the Alpha, just as she knew how loyal her maids at home were.

One of the maids finally responded, "You're a foreigner here, and we don't have time to interact with you now, as we don't know your mission here in our pack. But Alpha Henry sent us to bathe you and to have you properly searched to see if you aren't carrying any dangerous weapon beneath your dress. And please, be fast, because Alpha Collins and Luna Ruth are waiting to meet with you in the Grand Hall."

Camila gulped. She knew she could not protest at that point, so she stripped off her nightgown.

Camila was tired and needed a place to rest and lay her head so that her wound would heal.

After Camila stripped completely naked, one of the maids gave her soap and a sponge to start bathing.

Camila was shivering from the cold, as she had been drenched by the heavy rain that had now stopped.

Meanwhile, Henry was inside the mansion, in the Grand Hall. His father spoke to him, "Henry! How can you breach our pack's law and bring a foreigner here, straight to our mansion? Do you want to risk all of our lives?"

"No, Father... Actually, I'm..." Henry tried to speak, but his father cut him off.

"You have no right to bring a total stranger here, especially from the Eastern Pack. She must leave for the refugee house now, once she's done with whatever you have sent the maids to do with her. We don't mingle with foreigners or live with them. Once you fail to keep your guards up, they will trample upon us and obviously turn rogues to take over our pack."

"I'm sorry, Father," Henry apologized. His father sat on the throne staring at him, while his mother stood with his two younger sisters. They were curious to see the foreigner he had brought home, as Henry had never made such a mistake before.

"It's alright. Send the guards to take her to the refugee house, and tomorrow they should bring her here first thing in the morning. I would like to see her and know whether she's telling the truth. If she is, we will allow her to join our pack. But once she's found guilty of lying, she will be punished severely and also forbidden from being a member of our pack."

"Okay, Father. Can I go out now to check on other things?" Henry asked, and his father replied, "As you please. But send the guards to take her away once she's through with whatever you're doing outside with her. And like I said, let this mistake never repeat itself. It's good to see the rest of the pack members are in their homes. None would be aware that you dared to bring a total stranger here to our mansion."

"I'm sorry, Father," Henry apologized again, feeling the anger in his father's voice. His father dismissed him, "Leave my sight."

"As you wish, Father," Henry replied, and walked out of the mansion. His mother and sisters followed him from behind, wanting to see the foreigner he had brought into their home.

Juliet and Madelyn were both angry. They were twins, and they walked out with their mother to see the foreigner too.
