Chapter 37: Remember

The lake is beautiful. The wind rustles the grass in the gentle breeze, the birds chirp loudly overhead as they dance along the surface of the still water. In a few minutes, though, it will be hot. The sun will bake the leaves on the trees, making them sizzle and pop from all the heat it has generated.

After Marcus sat down beside Cassandra a little silent occupied the space between them, before Marcus move closer to Cassandra causing their shoulders to press against each other. A smile played on his lips.

"What are you thinking?" Marcus asked and used his hand to gently grab her chin pulling her eyes up towards him.

Cassandra raised one brow slightly, her lips curved upwards into an amused smirk. She let her gaze drop downwards. She didn't want to look at Marcus's face because she knew that he could see the blush on her cheeks.

She then shook her head in an attempt to get rid off those distracting thoughts. She looked back up at Marcus who was looking at her
