Willow’s POV I couldn’t believe that I had let my guard down and let myself be taken by Celeste, right in front of my mate. The look on Alpha Chance’s face as we disappeared right in front of me told me that he would come for me at any cost, but I worried about his safety and the rest of the packs. It was my own fault I was in this situation. I needed to find a way out of it, but by the look of the cell I was in, they were always planning on taking me. The cell was made of heavy steel that was not able to be bent by even my wolf and it was coated in wolfbane too. Then there was also a barrier of salt containing my witch side along with an invisible wall that I could feel major power coming from. This cell was definitely built to hold a Hybrid and I had to wonder what they wanted with a Hybrid, if Celeste was one herself. If Celeste was telling the truth she came from two powerful creatures and I was just a peon compared to her. My mother was just your typical witch and my father
Shawn’s POV It has been days now since the Alphas saved me and the Moon Witch took Willow. I was mad at the world and wished that they would have just left me there to die, if it meant that Willow was here at Red Moon safe. The wounds that I had suffered at the hand of the Moon Witch took me days to recover from and when I was finally released by the pack doctor, I took off in my wolf form and ran as far as I could, trying to ease the pain of not having Willow here beside me. But I realized that all the running in the world wasn’t going to stop the pain. The only thing that was going to stop it would be to bring Willow back to Red Moon safely. I could clearly see that the Alphas have been working night and day, trying to track the Moon Witch and even the Sun Witches, the Hybrids, and the Canyon Ridge Covenant was trying to help track her down. Izzy on the other hand was a complete mess. She was overwhelmed with joy that I was back but was sickened that Willow was taken. I think
Chance’s POV As I walked into the meeting room, I was glad that Shawn was by my side with what I was about to do. All eyes turned in my direction as I walked in and I knew it wasn’t because of me but because Shawn had finally joined us since we rescued him from the Moon Witch. “Alpha Shawn, it’s nice to see you joining us today.” Alpha Hunter says to Shawn, but I know once he hears what we have to say he won’t be thinking that. Shawn remains quiet and I move towards the table and say, “I need everyone’s full attention.” All the Alphas move around the table and I make sure to look for Alpha Conner in the room before I begin to talk. “Alpha Shawn and I just received a letter from our mate’s father. He is making demands if we want our mate back. These demands involve most of you at this table.” I say as I look around the table at all the Alphas that are present. “We don’t deal with demands.” Alpha Hunter says to me and I knew he was going to say that. Looking at him, I say, “
Willow’s POV Days, maybe even a week has passed, and I find myself going mad being in this cell alone. The only person who comes into the room is Celeste and I am thankful to her for bringing me food and water, but I honestly don’t know how much longer I can take being kept in here. My wolf side is itching to be free, but the invisible magical wall is preventing me from shifting and I feel like she is clawing me from the inside out. Thankfully, my father hasn’t returned and I haven’t had to listen to his harsh words, even though they have been haunting my dreams. It was a hard pill to swallow knowing how much he hated me now and it made me even more depressed, as I began to feel unwanted once again. The lack of my mates to confirm to me that I was wanted was beginning to also play a toll on me and I hadn’t realized that they were the reason that I was able to not feel so depressed in this world. The two of them not coming for me yet also made me wonder if they ever would and if
Willow’s POV I held Celeste’s hand as she maneuvered us down the dimly lit hallways that seemed more of a maze and I knew if it wasn’t for her I would have been lost in a matter of seconds. Trusting Celeste was a leap of faith and right now I had no other choice than to believe that she was now on my side. One thing I did know was that we were heading in the right direction as the howls became louder and I knew the wolves were here for me. As we made our way around a bend Celeste stops and I almost plow into her as she quickly moves back around the wall and places her finger over her lips to tell me to be quiet. While we stood there in silence, I could hear voices coming from right around the corner and I knew they were the Moon Witch’s men. It was clear from what they were saying that the wolves were winning, and they were talking about making a run for it. Honestly, I didn’t blame them for wanting to make a run for it, especially if all the Alphas were here. I couldn’t imagine w
Chance’s POV Word got to me that Willow had made it out of the tunnels, and I knew that Celeste was with her. I motion to Alpha Hunter that they were safe and that we could move forward with our plan. Our men then slowly started to retreat, and the second part of our plan went into action as Alpha Hunter motioned to his men to set the detonators. There was only one problem to this plan, and it was we hadn’t encountered the Moon Witch or Willow’s father since we raided the old mining headquarters. It made me wonder if they had already headed to Canyon Ridge with receiving my letter and I just hope that Alpha Conner and his men were prepared for them. Once we were all in the clear and in the main outdoor building Alpha Hunter gave the command to level the old mining tunnels to the ground taking away one more of the Moon Witch’s hiding places. As soon as the detonation went off the room began to fill with dust from within the tunnels and we exited the building knowing that the tunn
Willow’s POV The blast sent us all flying backwards but someone caught me before my body hit the ground and softened the impact. My ears began to ring and I slowly turned to see who had caught me. Laying beneath my body lay Celeste and her eyes were shut and she wasn’t moving. I began to shake her, trying to wake her up, but she remained unconscious, and I was beginning to worry that she hit the ground too hard. I began to cry out her name, hoping she would hear me and open her eyes, but she still remained motionless on the ground. Alpha Shawn made it to me and began to check me for injuries. “I am fine. Help Celeste.” I cried to him. Alpha Chance then made it to me and when he saw Celeste’s helpless body lying on the ground, he quickly picked her up and began to run with her to what I assumed was the infirmary. Alpha Shawn helped me to my feet, and we began to follow them, and I just prayed that she was okay. She had taken the blunt force of the blow to save me, and my pup and
Shawn’s POV Alpha Reese and Luna Rayne came running into the infirmary and Luna Rayne went straight to Alpha Hunter and Alpha Caleb and their newborn pup, but Alpha Reese came straight over to me and Alpha Chance. “I need your help.” Alpha Reese tells me and I can see there is an issue that needs our attention. “What’s going on?” I asked him but his eyes shoot to Willow and then back at me and I knew he didn’t want to say anything in front of her. I lean down and kissed Willow on the forehead and said, “I will be back stay here with Celeste.” Alpha Chance did the same and the two of us left the infirmary with Alpha Reese and headed outside back to the front of the house. Alpha Conner and the Sun Witches were now standing around where the Moon Witch once stood and I had to wonder what they were searching for. The blast felt like the largest burst of magical energy I have ever felt in my life and I couldn’t imagine that she could have survived it. “Good, you guys are here.” Alph
