Chapter 29:- I Love You

I paced back and forth in the room, growing restless with each passing hour. I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t understand how to help my brother without betraying my husband. My brain and heart were in great conflict with these two people.

My brain wants my brother back, but my heart doesn’t want to betray Luther again.

I’d promised Ned that I would hand him Luther’s Mac within two days. But I wasn’t able to make the right decision. I was confused. I was very confused. Should I help my brother? He wanted my help. I still remembered his face. He looked so wounded and shattered and lost. He was broken and helpless. He and Winifred had lost their first child. It must have been painful. Did Luther torture them? Why didn’t he tell me he’d found my brother then? Huh, why would he even tell me? Who the hell am I to him?

I sat down in the chair and put my head in my hands as my throat thickened with sobs. My mind wandered back to that day when I’d learned everything about Luther.
