“No one! I was looking for you,” Jessica told her son as she smiled at Cornell.

“Why then tears in your eyes?” Cornell dismissed her mother's comments and questioned. He could tell that his mother was in pain from the look in her eyes, which revealed a pang she was not expecting to feel; If not, his mother knew how to get ready beforehand.

“Tears!? What??" Jessica touched her eyes and noticed tears that she had not felt coming. She wiped them slowly and carefully to avoid smudging her eyes, then said,

"I am not sure how my tears managed to ruin my makeup. By the way, do not leave my hands like that. At least, tell me where you are going so I can keep an eye on you." Jessica bowed her head and kissed Cornell on the cheek.

“Hmm! I am going to be mindful, mom," Cornell said, restrained himself from pressing his mother for an answer when she was unable to provide one.
