AUBREY
Finally, it was the D-day for Trent's concert. Purity jumped from place to place, chattering about the show and my heart felt like it would bust from watching her. I was glad that I was able to make her this happy.I knew just how much Purity loved listening to his music so this was a huge thing for her. As the hours flew by, I got her ready and we made our way to the venue for the concert. We waited in a long line eagerly waiting until it was finally our turn. "Tickets please," the man said."For three," I said, handing our tickets to him as he granted us entry. I made sure that Purity and I were holding hands. As we took our front row seats. The place was rowdy and bustling with energy.Purity was so excited, this was going to be her very first concert. When the place was fully occupied, the beat dropped, signaling the start of the concertThe neon lights flashed as fog began to gush out of the fog machines, giving the stage an ethereal visual. The crowd went wild with cheers and whistles as the anticipated Trents arrival. Finally he walked out from backstage, dressed in ripped denim jeans and a sleek black jacket, embodying the pop star persona. "Make some noise, Aurora springs!" He said. They screamed in response. The speakers throbbed as the beats began to play. He picked the mic and within seconds started to showcase his vocal prowess. The crowd sang along as she performed on stage. Denise and Purity seemed to be having the thing of their lives that that alone made me feel happy.Purity stood on her chair, lip syncing as she swayed to the rhythm of his song. Trent suddenly looked our way. "Hey, little girl what's your name?" He asked as he jumped down from the stage, pointing the mic towards her."Purity," she replied."Well Purity, I love your energy, would you like to come on stage?"My eyes widened as I turned to look at Purity, she nodded and practically leaped at him. He caught her and took her on stage. "I want to sing one of your songs for my mommy," she said, causing everyone to 'aww' as the camera panned towards Denise and I, then back to them. She started singing, this one was undoubtedly one of her favorites. The crowd sang along until she was done. Ripples of clapping erupted from the audience. "You have such a beautiful voice you young star," he said, making people cheer on even more.Trent picked her up, bringing her back to me. He planted a small kiss on her head as he returned, slipping out his business card and handing it over to me. He put the mic aside and whispered into my ears, "Wait for me at wing B, I wanna see you."He turned around and returned to the stage. My daughter looked so happy, it was like she was daydreaming. He performed a couple of more songs before the concert was finally over.As we shuffled our feet making our exit, I nudged Denise. "You can't tell me that wasn't worth it," I whispered."I mean, I knew you would have men at their throats tonight with how gorgeous you look, but Trent?! Totally worth it!" She squealed, clapping her hands together dramatically. I squealed too, then with one look at my worn out child, I went to rub her hair and said,"Hey, take Purity home would ya? She looks tired, I'll go wait for Trent at wing B."She nodded, carrying the half sleepy girl away.I made my way backstage, and a bouncer stopped me by the entrance. "Do you have any business back there?""Trent said I should meet him at wing B, I'm the mother of the girl that performed…""Oh, go right in then."I let out a breath I never knew I was holding then swiveled my head around until I found the place labeled wing B and I went to stand there.I watched as the production team shuffled about, moving their equipment. I craned my neck, trying to see if I could locate Trent myself, but then a familiar figure fell into my line of vision. It was Mr. Frost.I blinked repeatedly to be sure my eyes weren't deceiving me, what the hell was he doing in Aurora springs? He was talking to a small group of people before he broke off, walking away.I knew I shouldn't, but I was curious. I didn't realize when my feet began to carry towards him like a silent stalker. He paused in front of a room which was labeled 'restricted area' adjusting his suit before walking in.I swallowed, staring at the slightly ajar door. I slowly opened the door, my heart thrashing against my chest as I slipped in. It led to a poorly lit hallway that most likely led somewhere else. After talking a few steps in, I paused, maybe Trent was already waiting for me at wing B, I thought.I should go back, whatever Cole is doing here is not my business, I thought to myself. Just as I was about to turn around, I crashed into a solid frame. I flinched, startled by the sudden presence behind me. "I'm sorry," I muttered, keeping my head low as I tried to reach the door.Suddenly he grabbed my arm, yanking me backwards. In a swift motion he pressed a handkerchief against my nose. I struggled, trying my best to fend him off but he was much stronger. In a matter of minutes, my vision blurred and the room started spinning. My eyelids grew heavy and I slipped into an unconscious state, seeing nothing but black.A sharp sting on my cheek brought me back to consciousness, but it took a harder one on the same cheek to get me fully awake. An involuntary scream ripped out of my chest at the sight in front of me, but it was inaudible due to the gag tied to cover my mouth. The entire place was filled with so many elegantly dressed people, there were gold tables and chairs wherever I looked, and I was on the stage, staring down at them in the hall."She is our next item… we literally saved the best for last." The guy with spiky hair and brown teeth spoke into the microphone, pulling me out of my thoughts, his eyes transfixed on my chest.I wondered why, but then a gust of cool wind attacked my body and my neck snapped downwards right away. Another scream left my throat, but once again, it wasn’t heard because of the gag.I was practically naked in front of everyone, in a small, transparent, black lace bra that my breasts were spilling out of, and a matching black lace thong.Tears filled my eyes and I clapped my palms together in a pleading gesture to everyone, but they just laughed. Most of them, actually."… she is the kind of meat every man wants in their bed. When I first laid my eyes on her, I had to blink more than once. She isn't the best we have had, but she is ethereal—""Ten thousand."My eyes almost popped out of their sockets. Was this an auction? Was I getting bought right now or what? The second person confirmed my thoughts, "Twenty."No! No, no, no… Purity, God damn it…I wanted to thrash about, try to run or something, but I was chained tightly to a slim pole behind me. I looked around for help, but I could see no one that I could turn to.Just when I thought that it was the end, my eyes locked with… Cole's!Oh my God, did he remember who I was?I looked straight at him with pleading eyes and he held my gaze too. He was sitting beside Trent, I just noticed. And Trent was also bidding strongly. He had a smirk on, telling Cole some stuff as they watched me with complete opposite expressions. Then all of a sudden, an older, ruthless looking man made a bid of 150,000 dollars, I slumped against the pole, sniffing violently as fatter tears poured down my cheeks.Purity, oh my God, what would become of my child if something happened to me after this? I grew up without parents and I promised that she would, but I failed her… I failed my daughter…"Going… And…""Three hundred thousand." I heard a familiar voice thunder and my neck almost broke from the force it snapped up with. My eyes locked with Cole’s."And just like that, Frost takes the girl!"A round of applause filled the room and Cole's eyes screamed possession already. Me? I was super relieved and grateful. But for what? How did I know that it was not the beginning of something worse?COLE Trent's concert was as good as I expected. I had to be frank, the punk handled his shows pretty decently. "Good show." I told him on our way to the hall for the auction. He just smiled widely and patted my shoulder, grabbing a bottle of water from a random table. He was already gulping the content of the bottle before I could react. My palm connected with the back of his head and he almost choked on the water, as a result, he glared at me as soon as the bottle left his lips. He was coughing a bit violently too. I did not give a fuck about that, or his anger. "Are you sick, man? That water could be spiked or something." "I don't give a fuck right now, thank you for your concern, could you give it to someone who needs it?" He threw the bottle at me, but I dodged it before it could come in contact with my body. We entered the hall, still bickering like high school friends. It was just the vibe between Trent and I, which was why no one paid attention to what was happening betwe
AUBREYI was injected again, despite all my struggles to break free when they held me down.By the time my eyes finally peeled open, I was lying on a mattress, the sunlight almost blinding me. I looked around and gasped audibly. The room was massive, and almost every single furniture inside was white. There were chandeliers, other fancy lights, luxury designs and even some gold items laying around. The first thought I had when I saw the items was how much money I would make if I sold them. Then I recalled that they did not belong to me, so I should not be thinking that… Well, who did it belong to?I rubbed my temple in a bid to recall at least a little of what had gotten me here, and it took a while, but finally, something clicked and I slammed a hand over my mouth in remembrance."Purity! Oh my God, Denise!" I jumped off the bed with fresh tears gathering in my eyes as I called out again, "Purity! My child, please!"I was at the metal door now, banging at it hopelessly, praying to Go
COLE It was hard to tell her those things, hard to let her know that the world she had always known was about to take a wild turn. This was why I never bought any of the women from the auction. If I wanted a whore, I knew which bar/club to go to, I knew which phone call to make. I did not need a helpless woman in my home, serving as a 'pet'. This woman was tempting enough, to be truthful, with her lithe curves and doe eyes. Her smooth skin and creamy complexion added to how enchanting she was as well. She did not look like a mother, Aubrey. Her eyes were large when she looked back up at me. She was crying, and my hands were stuffed into my pocket as I hoped she did not expect me to console or see reason with her in the slightest. "Please…" She fell to her knees then and clapped her hands in front of each other, more tears staining her now rosy cheeks. "My daughter… She got admitted to some hospital and she needs surgery, I need to go see her, I need to… I need to beg the doctor to
AUBREY"Where are you taking us to?" I asked when we were in his car. He had dismissed Denise, loading her with a stack of cash for her Uber back home.He looked straight ahead as he drove, responding, "Another hospital. Is that not what I promised you?"I kept my mouth shut at that, letting him drive us. The entire ride was silent, save for the times that my daughter fell in and out of unconsciousness. I wondered if he would eventually let me go so we could go back to our old life together… Me, my daughter and Denise. What if I just told him the truth? No. No, men like this… he could try to take my child and over my dead body would I let my child grow up anywhere close to this man. He was dangerous, a part of something that was too dark for us.I would not let my daughter grow up around that…After a long ride, we finally stopped in front of a huge hospital and my daughter got admitted there. Almost everyone knew him, from the doctors to the nurses, even the patients. He spoke to the
AUBREYWhen I got back to the room where I had been held hostage all along, I FaceTimed Denise, and said some stupid things. I asked her to get the police because I had traced this place. I knew the address, and I gave it to her.Less than an hour later, some bulky man barged into my room and seized my phone, with me kicking and screaming. And then after a few more minutes, Martha came in.I sat up on the gigantic bed which I was laying on and looked at her, my heart racing as I anticipated what she had come here to say/do.With a stern look on her face, she told me, "Get up. The boss is waiting for you at the airport."I shook my head no, refusing that this was really about to happen. How could he make me leave my child alone like this?"You must be a mother, Martha, you have to understand—""That is where you are wrong, darling. I have no children. I do not understand nothing. Five minutes is all you have until you are bundled into the car awaiting you outside. You do not realize ho
COLEShe was so tensed, standing next to me like that. I mean, I could feel her nervousness radiating through her in waves. She was dressed in pyjama shorts and a matching shirt. It was not Laila's. I had made some workers go shopping for her size of clothes. She covered her fit with the Apron that Sofia normally wore, whilst her beautiful hair hidden in the bonnet she wore. Thing was, I never ate anyone's food, aside from Sofia and her late mother who had been working with us since I was a child. My parents both died at a point, but they did not leave. Priscilla trusted me enough to still stay and continue working for me even after I told her that she could leave if she wanted to. She stayed, even as dangerous as being around me was.I did not know if my taste buds could ever adapt to something different, but I was willing to try her. Something told me this would be good, or at least, worth it.After asking her to list out everything on the table, I finally picked up my cutleries a
AUBREYHell. This was hell like nothing I had ever seen. I had been starved before, in my foster parents' home after I came out from the orphanage, but never like this. I did not know how long it was now, but I was barely awake. When I had first entered this place, I thought I would die in no time. If not from hunger, from the ghosts of the many skulls and bones that littered the basement floor. He was really a murderer. Just how many people had he killed this way?I sang songs to my daughter every once in a while and hoped that she felt my love. I mean, maybe I was being dramatic, but sometimes I could see my death staring at me in the face.No one had come to visit me since the incident. It was like they all purposely left me here to rot. I had totally forgotten about the order to not use garlic and onions, but after this incident, if they let me live, I would never forget it anymore.I wondered if he had recovered already… What if… What if I had killed him?He was a murderer anyway
AUBREYI managed to sleep after that, his words haunted me so bad, I kept wondering what he would do to me. Out of fear, I even managed to hide a good number of all the torture items I saw, only leaving some vibrators and dildos here and there. They all made me shiver with disgust. He actually used those on his wife? No wonder she divorced him. He had a working, perfect dick, and he had the guts to use those instead? At a point, I got hungry after eating a very little portion of food that morning (Cole's order), and I decided to go outside the room a bit. The door was not locked, so I walked out easily. The bodyguards in the house had already escorted Cole to work by now, or do I thought, so I was free to loiter about the house, under the watch of cctv cameras, provided I did not try to go outside. The guards out there probably had an order to beat me senseless if I dared cross the door. I made my way to the kitchen instead."Oh my God!" Sofia exclaimed when I materialized at the ent
HELLO, AUTHOR HERE!I just want to say a big thank you to all of you, for staying with me from the start to finish of Aubrey and Cole's book! It's simply a way to encourage me to write much more catchy books like these. Looking forward to reading all your heartwarming/honest reviews. AUBREYFIVE YEARS LATER…"… over the years, Aubrey Frost has proven to be a force in marketing and business. From one store and a limited range of clothing, to one of the biggest clothing lines in America, scattered across the country, and from what I have heard, the company is set to make waves in other countries as well, anytime soon. Aubrey Frost makes billions of dollars in months, and that is asides what her husband makes from his endless chain of hotels. That family is indeed, one of the most successful, if not the most successful in New York City…" Cole nudged me, taking my attention away from the presenter who had an award to present to me. I sluggishly turned to him, wearing a huge smile of accomplishment on my face. He was grinning as well."Damn, I'm sitting next to a billionaire. Nice to meet you." He joked, outstretching his hand for a handshake. I took his hand and with all seriousness on my face, I said,"Good to meet you too. You are strikingly handsome, I must say. C
AUBREYIt was our wedding. This day was a miracle. Our miracle. I thought back to the incident at the house where I had thought for sure that I had lost Cole for good. I thought it was the end, and that my life was supposed to be that way… miserable and full of disappointments every step of the way.How then did a human who was practically submerged in so much fire escaped with only minor injuries and a breathing problem which only lasted days before it cleared up?How was I walking down the aisle now with Cole's father, who also doubled as my dad—I tried not to ponder much on that, by the way—I was walking down, ready to be handed over to Cole Frost as his wife.Yes, Luke had come to apologize, Elsa too. They had asked for forgiveness and wanted to be a part of our wedding. Cole had not wanted to forgive them, he sent them away from his office so they came to the house and begged me themselves, and I forgave them. I could not help but cry with Elsa as she cried, and I felt it when sh
COLEThe first video began to play on the screen and Dante loosened his tie, watching me all through.Laila tried to talk over the video and convince everyone that they should not be watching it, but everyone had all their attention on what was on the screen already."Oh hell, I hope that isn't who I think it is…" Ferdinand whispered, but it was still very much audible and made Dante's turn in the clip even more dramatic. As soon as he turned and his face was visible, there was collective gasps in the room, even more louder when he slammed the iron against our ex boss's head. Ricardo fell to the ground, lifeless, dead on the spot."What just happened?" It was one of the many murmurs that filled the room. Dante sat there, looking every inch of the Boss he was, even with the threat to his life playing on the screen."Ricardo was being difficult. He was an even bigger thief than I ever would be. I did you all a favour—""One which no one asked for." I reminded him, then instructed Ray to
COLE"Ready?" Ray asked me over the phone, and whilst grinning, I responded,"Ready. Today we take over the syndicate." I announced. He agreed to that, and we were still talking about some things that we would like to put in place when I heard a knock on the door. I ended the call and waited for the person to come in.Aubrey materialized at the entrance, softly closing the door as she entered into my home office. It was dark in here.. not exactly pitch black, but it was pretty dim.I could see her though. I could always see her. Well damn, now I was becoming emotional for no reason."Can I turn on the light, Sir? I want to talk to you." She pleaded. "You do not need to see me to talk to me. Say what you need to say, and leave." I told her, wheeling my chair towards her now."Oh… I, uh.. I woke up with the worst hangover, but… I recalled something… you were standing and uh… you kissed me. I don't think I was dreaming about the kiss because my lips are still sore!" She said all that at
COLELaila asked me to fire Aubrey. Of course, my first instinct was to say no. I had the word on the very tip of my tongue, but I decided to try to be patient. After all, by tomorrow, I would be executing my plan and I would finally get rid of her. I told her I would get rid of Aubrey in two days, as I did not have the time for drama at the moment."I need to prepare my child for the absence of her mother." I told her."Why can't the child go with her mother?" Laila asked in an impatient manner. "Because I want her with me. No child of mine would grow up outside of my territory." I gave her my best line, and it only took a short pause from the other end before she agreed and began to talk about how much pain she was in from the whole beating she received, and I had to beg her to not tell Dante about it first, as I would handle it in two days."Okay, babe. See you when you get back." She told me and I only hummed into the phone before ending the call.I decided to go home earlier to
AUBREY"Mommy, Auntie D said she would be visiting tomorrow." Purity announced with glee but I just frowned."What?" "She said you should call her." She handed the phone over to me, and I dialed Denise's number."You know this is very wrong timing, right?" I asked as soon as she picked up, just to be sure she had heard me when I explained that Cole never let any help bring in visitors if he did not permit it."Ray said you just need to ask him. Take permission and he would let you. I miss you guys so much and I want to come visit, is that too much to ask?" She sounded like she was dying and we were her ticket to another chance at life. The dramatic bitch. The thing was; I did not trust Denise. I did not trust Denise at all. I knew that aside from coming to see us, she had another reason why she was coming here… probably to cause a scene or two. But when I looked at my daughter, I saw the way she was really elated, and so I sighed,"I'll try to ask Cole. But please do not make a move
COLE"Do I always have to repeat the fact that you should watch your tone whenever you want to speak about my wife-to-be?" I asked after a while of being stunned by her revelation.Knowing my woman, she would not just make this accusation out of nowhere. No, she was not like Laila who would make up anything out of spite; it was the reason I was so interested in what she had to say.She rolled her eyes, and I pretended not to see that, just to let her talk, "I… Look, there's a recording, so I do not have to go on and on explaining myself." She pushed her phone into my hand and crossed her arms around her chest, which only caused her breasts to strain against her tank top with the action. She noticed I was looking, but even as her cheeks reddened, she did not drop her arms. Hell, it even looked like her eyes were daring me to do something about her stubbornness. It took a while, but I was finally able to tear my eyes off her and focus on the phone which I was given. The fucking tension
AUBREY"It's yours." Was Cole's cool response, and I almost fainted from the amount of rage that surged through my body at once.Laila had a different reaction to the news, though. She threw herself on Cole for the umpteenth time since she walked through those doors. Her excitement and the way she was rubbing it in by yelling her 'thanks' in his face were enough to make me snap."What the fuck do you mean…" I trailed off, realizing that I was only going to make it worse with that tone, so I amended instead, "You cannot give her the store, with all due respect, Sir."He tilted his head to the side in the usual way he did when he was trying to understand something."And why is that?" He questioned. I responded at once,"What do you mean why is that? I mean, you might have given me the place, but I have worked so hard to get it to where it is today, there is no way I am letting a complete stranger to take over what I have worked so hard to build. How can you even do this?""I do not care
