I'll Get To See My Daddy

Five years later, Debby was seated on a mat before her small house in an unpopulated city, she was busy checking the notebooks of her son. The cool air of the quiet city blew gently across her fresh skin.

After confirming that her son had indeed finished his assignment as he had claimed, she decided to put the notebooks back inside his bag but she suddenly heard the heavy sound of a private jet approaching her.

She was scared and worried about what was going on, she immediately stood and looked behind to be sure her son was not closer.

Eventually, the jet landed a distance away from her and a man with two guards behind him began to walk towards her.

Debby was nervous, she had never seen their faces before and she couldn't but wonder why they were approaching her.

"Miss Debby Alessandro, right?" The man in the middle of the bodyguards asked with a bright smile.

"Yes, can I know why you are here?" Debby asked.

The man streched his right hand and the bodyguard by his right handed him over a document after which the man handed it over to Debby, "Your father left behind a multimillion dollar company for you but as we speak, it's bankrupt."

Debby frowned, "My father?"

"Yes," the man smiled even broader.

"My father and my mother had been dead for a very long time and I've lived like an orphan all my life. So what company are you talking about? I hope you are not mistaken?" Debby asked.

"Sad to say that you were the one who was supposed to inherit all that your father left behind but Mrs. Alice wouldn't let us tell you then, firstly because you were young and secondly because of...her selfish interest." The man standing before Debby said.

Alice? Alice was her father's elder sister and at the same time, the mother of her ex-bestfriend, Edna. Why will Alice hid her father's inheritance from her all these years and let her suffer like a poor orphan.

"So why are they letting you tell me now?" Debby asked.

"The company is already bankrupt and is owing many investors due to mismanagement so she couldn't carry on with the company anymore as the investors kept disturbing her about about their investment," The man said.

"So she wants me to inherit millions of debt, how wicked is she!" Debby spilled angrily," like mother like daughter."

"Miss. Debby, I think you should use this opportunity to take over your father's company. If you work hard, you can foot off the debt and even grow the company to become one of the biggest company in our country," the man said but Debby wasn't willing to inherit debt. She wanted Alice to face the problem that she had created.

The man standing before her saw her unwillingness and said, "remember it's your father's company? I'll advise you take it."

Indeed, the company is her father's sweat.

"Okay, I'll come back to the country and take over . Is the company still on?" She asked.

"No, it's temporarily closed down by the government until all the debt of the company are cleared," the man said.

"Okay, I'll come," Debby said.

"Alright, the documents with you contains all the necessary documents that you need to have as the new owner of the company. Did you want me to take you back to our country?" The man asked.

"No, no...you can leave. I'll come back soon, don't worry," Debby felt like she still needed more time to think about it.

The man gave her his card and said," if you ever need any help, don't hesitate to call me, okay?"

"Sure," Debby said and watched as the man turned.

The man suddenly turned back to her and said," one more thing. Your father left two big companies behind. You are now the new owner of one but the second one is still being owned by Mrs. Alice and her daughter, miss Edna. Maybe you can work harder to claim it from them too," the man said.

"I'll get back everything that belongs to my father, that, I assure you," Debby said confidently.

The man liked her confiidence then eventually left with his guards.

Debby had left her city five years ago after the night stand she had with a strange man. That night, she had lost her virginity to the stranger but she didn't care. It meant nothing to her as at that time. What she didn't 't expect was that she would get pregnant after that.

She had left her country, Darkhood then so as to avoid her ex boyfriend and ex bestfriend cause she believed she can not heal seeing them often so she came over here to start a new life.

While Debby was trying to grasp the reality of the shoking news that just came to her, a small tiny hand wrapped around her leg and on turning and lowering her head, she saw her 'everything.' It was her son.

"Fred!" She called happily and affectionately. Ever since she gave birth to Fred, her life has taken a new form. She's the reason why she had been living and fighting hard to stay alive and heal from her past.

"Mommy, who are those men that came just now? Did dad sent them?" Fred asked. At the mention of the word 'dad' Debby's heart sunk. She didn't like it when the little one ask about his dad, it always make her remember what lead her to having a night stand with that stranger.

She sat on the mat and said to him, "sit dear."

The little one sat and looked at his mommy very cutely, there was a bright smile on his face and he looked very lively, "those men came to tell me to come back to Darkwood."

Darkwood was the name of her country, where she was before she came over here.

"Why? I thought you told me that we can never go back to Darkwood cause there are many wicked people there?"

"Yes, that's right. But there are good people there too. I need to take over my father's company and rebuild it. Also, you will get to see how beautiful Darkwood is."

"Is Darkwood more beautiful than this place?" The little one asked.

"Yes, very beautiful and adorable. It's actually more civilized," Debby said. She had intentionally skipped the part where he talked about his dad.

"Oh! Can we get to see dad there?" Fred asked. He was particularly interested in seeing his dad.

Debby sighed," well..." In a country of over seven million population, how can she ever meet the man she had sex with five years ago. Even if she meet him, can she recognize him?

"Well, yes," Debby didn'ttt want her son to feel sad so she just had to tell him what he wish to hear.

"Hey! Hurray! I'll get to see my daddy!" The little boy stood and jubilated, shaking his tiny waist playfully.
