Chapter 12 - Sweet or Salty

David stared at Bella and Xander in disbelief as they entered his office. "Did your mother come with you?" he asked, trying to wrap his head around the situation.

"Nope! We sneaked out and called a cab from the app," Bella replied nonchalantly, while Xander nodded in agreement.

"Oh, we didn't tell you our names! I'm Bella, and this is my twin brother, Xander," Bella added cheerfully.

David couldn't help but feel a mix of astonishment and concern. "You two shouldn't have done that. It's not safe for you to be wandering around the city on your own," he said, his tone stern yet gentle.

Bella and Xander exchanged glances, seemingly unfazed by David's concern. "Don't worry, we're smart," Xander assured him. "We knew the address and everything."

David raised an eyebrow, surprised by their resourcefulness. "How did you even find my office?"

"We searched your name online, and your office address came up," Xander explained.
