Chapter 106 - Confession

In an upscale restaurant illuminated by soft, intimate lighting, David found himself facing the anticipating gaze of his parents, Margaret and John Hendrix. The gentle clink of expensive glasses and polished silverware resonated throughout the intimate space, filling the air with an uneasy silence.

Margaret, clad in dignified attire, with her hair tied in an elegant bun, was the first to break the silence.

"David," she began, her voice wavering slightly with uncertainty, "you don't usually invite us out without a reason. Is something the matter?"

David swallowed, steadying his nerves. "I do have something important to share with you, actually."

John, a man who aged gracefully, with distinguished wrinkles etched onto his face, gave his son a long, appraising look.

"Then out with it, son," he said, leaning back in his chair. "You're making us nervous."

David looked at his parents, took a deep breath, and said, "Do you remember when you asked about Sienna's twins? If they were mine?"
