Chapter 63

'Why don't you tell her the truth?' She tossed on the bed as those words kept replaying in her head nonstop. Is that the right thing to do? She asked herself and ponder over it for a while, sitting on the bed, but after a giving it a thorough thought, she didn't seem to find the idea appealing.

"I'm going to handle it myself. I can't tell her the truth," She shook her head as she mumbled. Pushing all the thoughts to the back of her mind, she glanced over to Nancy who was sleeping peacefully on the bed beside her, and she sighed briefly. Just like she would soon turn twenty-eight, the little girl would soon be six too, and just like that, the years would keep going. The question is how long she was going to keep up with this lie? How long was she going to keep hiding the truth from her, and even if she succeeded in hiding it for years, what about when she finds out about it? Those were the questions she kept asking herself as she stared at the girl.
