Why would I need inspiration to kill someone.... I just have to go ahead and kill them and be done with it, it's not as big a deal as this." The little girl replied,
Once again, Kalen and his pack warriors had to pick their jaws off the ground.'Killing someone was not a big deal?! How can a child like this exist??' Kalen's beta thought to him through their mindlink, Kalen did not respond, he also did not have a reply to that.
"You even know the meaning of murder? How old are you? Are you even human?!" Kalen's third-in-command asked again in alarm, the little girl's forehead rumpled slightly as she frowned in annoyance at the question posed by Kalen's third.
"What are you even talking about? Am I daft? Who doesn't know the meaning of murder? I'm 4 years old and you're the one who's not human!" The little girl threw back at him furiously, Kalen's third-in-command seemed at a loss for words and was unable to retort.
(Third in command's thoughts: A 4 year old says killing is not a big deal? How can you say you're human, where's your conscience?!")
(Pack warriors thoughts: Ah, third in command, you shouldn't feel bad, the little girl is right in anycase, you truly cannot be considered human, none of us are...)
"Calm down first and explain it to us..." Kalen solicited softly in an attempt to calm the furious four year old.
(Third in command's thoughts: Calm down?! Who is he telling to calm down? She said I'm not human! I'm the one who was cursed at! I should be the one being pacified...are you truly choosing this little brat over me?! What about our brotherhood? Alpha! Consider my years of diligent service!!!)
The little girl sighed, taking off her back pack and pulling out a huge sketch book, she handed it over to Kalen and after receiving her permission, Kalen flipped it open.
Kalen gasped in surprise at the beautifully drawn landscapes within, the pack warriors immediately shifted closer to Kalen to catch a glimpse but not close enough to trigger Kalen's anger.
"You drew all this?!" Kalen asked the little girl in astonishment.
Although the drawings were a little messy and not completely perfect but for a 4 year old it should not be possible to draw this beautifully, it looked to have been drawn by a teenager with reasonable artistic training.
"Yes, they are mostly my rough work. The more perfect duplicates are kept at home so I don't lose them, I carry this around to quickly sketch anything that catches my eye so when I return home I can draw it out more beautifully, I'm an aspiring artist... obviously." The little girl explained before pausing thoughtfully and looking around her.
The little girl retrieved her sketchbook, pulling out her pencils and a huge flashlight which she handed to Kalen, she adjusted her position so she was sitted on the ground with her back to Kalen.
She sat facing a huge oak tree, the flash light gave light to both her sketchbook and the tree and she began sketching it, talking as she drew.
"Dad loves my artwork but still does not want me taking it as a full time career, he wants me to join the company when I'm old enough so I'll probably take a course in the business field, I don't see the point since my big brother is a genius and will take good care of the company, I would have refused but even big brother wants me to do so, I'm not opposed to the idea either, I don't know what my plans for my art are, I just see it as a passion and a way to express myself for now, so I'll definitely take a course in business." She stopped and let out a devastated sigh, while I was engrossed in her words, her beautiful voice warmed my heart and I also was eager to know her better so I encouraged her with a question.
"Why the sigh?" I asked with concern and she sighed again.
"This time, Dad dragged Deji and I on a business trip here, it's my first time being out of my country you know, and the plane ride was extremely tiring, not to mention I thought we'd stay back at the villa and recuperate but we immediately had to change as Dad insisted on dragging Deji and I to the meeting as well...a six hour business meeting!,

It is my first time being out of my country you know, and the plane ride was extremely tiring, not to mention I thought we would stay back at the villa and recuperate but we immediately had to change as Dad insisted on dragging Deji and I to the meeting as well."" A six hour business meeting! Can you believe it?! We got there and they did not even make special provisions for chairs for us. I had to sit in the usual chair at a conference table. It honestly was my first time feeling short in my whole life! I'd have you know, it was not a very nice feeling. I could not even see above the table...talk more of what was on the projector!" The little girl exclaimed in annoyance, sketching furiously on her sketchbook, Kalen exchanged an amused look with his friends."After the hours of torture in the guise of a business meeting, we got home and father asked us to brief him on what happened at the meeting! Now I know D
13 years later...."Thinking about that night again?" Wren, Kalen's beta asked him, Kalen lifted his cold gaze to Wren before shifting it back to the files on his desk, Wren sighed at Kalen's lack of response."You've withdrawn from us completely Kalen, the whole pack live in fear of their cold and emotionless Alpha, if things continue this way...." Wren began but cut himself off at the noticeable change in the atmosphere.Kalen gazed darkly at him, the gaze conveying everything Kalen could ny be bothered to say and Wren quickly lowered his head in submission."I understand Alpha, Forgive me... I will take my leave now." Wren said sadly before turning and exiting Kalen's office.Kalen's thoughts drifted slightly as he stared at Wren's dejected figure...'How could I not think of that night?...It was the first meeting with my mate... and also the last, I found my salvation and lost it just as quickly.' Kalen thought
"You can say that when it comes to the show business this two companies are the top dogs in over 20 countries and they constantly overtake new markets with their award winning film productions and outstanding talents, as well as their collection of the most priced artworks they also have quite a number of outstanding artists,""This list is inclusive of the famed little flame-Iva whose artworks have remained the most sought after ever since his debut when he was just 10, I believe if we work with them, breaking into the African market will be a smooth sailing endeavor." The manager of Blade Arts and Entertainments said, Kalen pondered over his words even as another manager raised a question."For Akunna Entertainment, they have been prominent in the film industry for years and are one of the world leading entertainment companies...Akunna corporation in itself is quite a good choice for partnership however Akunna corporation never delved in artworks, not unt
Kalen nodded slightly in approval, and everyone could see the joy on the manager's face.Getting a nod from Kalen was practically as difficult as fetching water with a sieve, getting any reaction from Kalen in fact, so a nod of his meant more than a thousand commendations.Kalen clapped twice adding to the manager's joy, his briefing was satisfactory to Kalen, he had truly done his research."Have you decided on how to go about acquiring the partnership of Akunna corporation?" Kalen asked him and the manager nodded."Their headquarters is in the city of Lagos, Nigeria. I was thinking we send a delegate for the discussion, after informing him of our intentions of course, going in person to discuss it will show our sincerity." The manager suggested."Akunna corporation... I have heard of this company, however the lines of business we have in common are few. Ike Akunna, I believe that should be the name of the president..
"Alpha, Alpha Greg has arrived." Wren thought to Kalen, Kalen shut the pack file on his desk and looked up at the alphas of the branch packs of dark moon sitting in his office."The state of your finances are relatively okay, but for dark moon, okay is just not good enough. I want a 30% increase in your annual income before the year runs out." Kalen said in his usual monotone, the branch alphas exchanged glances at Kalen's words."What? You can't do it?, 50% increase before the year runs out, if you cannot achieve this, you can hand over your position as Alpha immediately." Kalen dismissed coldly. The branch alphas winced but knowing anymore words would be useless, they swallowed down their reluctance and bowed in acceptance of Kalen's orders, rising to their feet and leaving Kalen's office quietly.Kalen calmed his anger at their incompetence, it was clear they could do better, they had all the resources and the skills, they just couldn't be bothered to do bette
Kalen glared at Greg before throwing a file at him.Greg caught the file and opened it and his eyes widened in surprise."Really? You're giving me this?" Greg asked in shock, Kalen scoffed in response."With much reluctance, yes. Sign that and blue moon constructions will be merged with blade constructions and you will be in charge of the combined companies." Kalen explained."Now I'm aware construction is your speciality but blue moon is not receiving the recognition it deserves. Under your management I expect an increase in the income of blade constructions by 30% and with our popularity blue moon will also have a lot more projects and will in turn experience an increase." Kalen said, Greg nodded, a huge smile on his face."30% increase? I can handle that, what percentage is blue moon to give blade corporation annually?" Greg asked."Nothing, as long as the income of blade construction increases under your leadership, I won't request anything from blu
~Miwa's POV~I walked through the dark forest, I was surrounded by thick fog, I could barely see ahead of me, I spun around trying to figure out where I was and how I could get out of here.'where on God's green earth is this?' I wondered aloud as I moved forward blindly, I walked for a reasonable distance before sighing and lowering myself to a seating position in tiredness, pulling my knees up to my chest, I lay my head on my knees and shut my eyes, contemplating giving up and just waiting right here for whatever was going to happen, but a strange feeling tugged at my heart, pulling me to move in a particular direction.'why do I feel this way' I pondered, rubbing my chest to ease the uncomfortable feeling, I was unable to ignore it and ended up following it as I began my search through the thick jungle once again.I sighted a silhouette some distance away from me , it's back turned to me and breathed a sigh of relief, at least someone was here.
You should go and have a talk with him, with how close we're standing, we wouldn't want the headlines tomorrow to be about young miss Akunna and her personal bodyguards secret affair, I'll head back first." I told him, he chuckled but swiftly left to do as I said, knowing my words were a high possibility, the paparazzi just loved scandals and what was more scandalous than a 17 year old rich Lagosian in a relationship with her body guard.I broke into a sprint as I headed back home, I nodded to the gate guard again as I jogged in, I took off my mask and hood, my lips stretched into a huge smile as I sighted who awaited me at the mansions' doors."Deji!, You haven't left for work yet?" I asked my brother who stood casually in front of me, wearing a casual sweater and black jeans, he handed me a water bottle and I grinned, quickly drinking it, I frowned, pulling a face as I tasted the contents of the bottle, I flashed Deji a hateful glare and he chuckled lowly."De
"You smell good, I see why he's so taken with you, you've always been quite an interesting one." Jason declared, giving me a look that said he knew something I didn't.I furrowed my brows, staring carefully at him, a sense of familiarity bubbled up within me as it had when I had met Aiden, Wren, Johan and Alpha... I frowned, but brushed it off, it was probably just my imagination or something, there was no way I wouldn't recall meeting men like this, between their god like looks, character, imposing aura's and intimidating presence, all in all they weren't the kind of people that could be easily forgotten."Shut up and do your job Jason." Alpha said glaring at the doctor, he instantly became serious and got to work while I sat still and let him poke and prod at my head, my mind however was calculating the instant change in Jason's attitude at Alpha's words, guys didn't usually react so well to being ordered, and someone as playful as Jason should be angered when told to sh
Miwa's POV~My eyes fluttered open and I lifted a hand to my face sleepily, rubbing my tired eyes."Oh how cute!" A voice cooed, so alarmingly close to my ears."HOLY FUCK!!!" I screamed in shock, tumbling off the bed and landing in an embarrassing heap on the carpeted floor. The mystery person burst into boisterous laughter even as my door was slammed open and Alpha and Wren rushed to my aid."What the hell happened here?!" Wren asked the mystery guy, while Alpha glared murderously at him."Nothing...she saw me and just freaked out..." He said innocently, I stood up fiercely, rubbing my sore bottom, Alpha and Wren exchanged a puzzled look before glancing at me questioningly."What the fuck do you mean by nothing... I woke up to a stranger all up in my face cooing at me, what was I supposed to do? Shout hallelujah?!" I yelled angrily, glaring at the mysterious blonde haired guy that looked suspiciously similar to Wren, except he was missing a good
"What I meant was... I have had enough of your goons breathing down my neck, I don't need a baby sitter, you already barred all the windows and you keep me locked in... is it necessary for him to be here?" I asked in annoyance, he gave me a blank look and nodded.I sighed in frustration knowing that was all the answer I would be getting.' it seems like I have to use my secret weapon.' I thought.I rose to my feet but quickly lifted a hand to my head as I swayed and the ground came rushing to my face, Alpha rushed to my side, catching me before I could fall."Let me go." I whispered weakly, staring dazedly up at him, his eyes widened in panic and he placed a hand on my head, I flinched away from his touch."It hurts, don't touch it." I said referring to my head injury, it hadn't completely healed up and still bled a little."I'll get a doctor." Alpha said, turning to Wren, I grabbed his hand, shaking my head weakly."I'm fine... I just haven'
Miwa's POV~"Stop glaring at me!" Wren yelled exasperatedly and I scoffed, my glare not moving from him, we had been like this for over an hour now and I had blatantly ignored all his pleas, I didn't plan on looking away anytime soon, I'd stare him to death!"Miwa... it's not like I want to be here either." He explained pitifully, I frowned."Then leave!" I snapped angrily. It had been two days since I attempted to escape which meant it has been four days since I was kidnapped. For the past two days, Wren was assigned to monitor me and damn he did his job well. He watched me like a hawk, I only had peace when I was in the bathroom and even then he'd come knock frequently to make sure I was still there, despite knowing all the windows had been barred, it wasn't like I could vanish or diffuse through the walls. He spent the whole day with me and at night Aiden guarded outside my door."It's not my call." He replied seriously, I sighed."Get me that Alpha
"Hmm, seems like you caught me, that was quite fast, I must be loosing my touch.... however I'd have to turn down your request, I'd rather stay up here." She replied coldly, my wolf whined within me at her hateful tone."Please come down Miwa." Wren said to her, she scoffed."You will have to come get me yourselves." She replied back, I growled."Stop being difficult." I said, she raised a brow at me."Difficult? Who, me? The same me who currently has a head injury inflicted by you? If you think this is me being difficult then you haven't seen difficult yet, I'm just getting started." She said with spite, I growled before moving back slightly and leaping into the air, landing on the branch she sat on, she stared at me with wide eyes."You... what exactly are you?" She asked me in a shocked tone, I shrugged, pulling her into my arms and jumping off the tree, landing perfectly on my feet, her already wide eyes widened further and it would have been funny if it
Kalen's POV~I glared furiously at Wren and he took a cautious step back, Aiden stared warily between the both of us.I struggled to reign in my fury as images of my bleeding mate kept flashing through my mind, I had hurt her, I had hurt her with my own hands, when Wren told me he had left his cellphone there, I instantly panicked, it wasn't that anyone she called would make a difference but I really didn't want to get her family involved because I knew that anyone who tried to take her away from me would get seriously hurt. She probably hates me now, not like she didn't before but now it would be worse, I was so angry I wanted to beat the stupidity out of Wren but I pushed down that urge, what happened was also my fault, infact I was more at fault as I had been the one to slam the door open with such force, when I saw her crumpled on the floor bleeding, all my anger vanished, my heart froze up within me in fear, I knew the extent of damage my Alpha strength could cau
"4879....hmm." I pondered aloud, trying the numbers out in different ways till finally the phone clicked, I grinned."Looks like my hacking classes will come in handy after all." I muttered, quickly executing my plans, there wasn't anything about my brother's phone I didn't know so it didn't take me long to hack into it, I didn't leave a message though, quickly erasing the evidence of my work and wiping the phone with a cloth, I carried it with me to the door just in time as Wren and Alpha barged in, the door slammed forcefully into me and I staggered back, dropping to the floor with a pained gasp, the phone dropping out my hands, both men glared at me and Wren picked it up looking through it suspiciously before turning to me in surprise."She didn't use it." He informed Alpha guiltily, I bit my lips, staring at them with hate filled eyes as my hand lifted up to my head, feeling the liquid that dripped from it, I didn't have to look to know I was bleeding, this was t
~Miwa's POV~My eyes fluttered open and I groaned stretching my limbs as I sat up on the bed, it was morning already, Mama Annie had come up last night and I told her what she needed to know, Wren had also come but the moment he began saying shit about me going downstairs, I shoved him out and slammed the door in his face, thankfully Alpha didn't show, I knew he was lurking around somewhere close though, the aura was unmistakable.I stood up, heading into the bathroom , I took a quick shower and brushed my teeth, it was still quite early but I had always been an early bird.I walked out, heading into the closet and picking out a pair of black skinny jeans, a black hoodie and black running shoes, I threw them on along with my underwear and headed out to see Wren in my room."You really have no boundaries do you? What if I came out naked?" I asked him, moving towards the sitting area and taking a seat before the table, Wren's eyes widened at my words and he gave me
My eyes moved to the window I had noticed earlier, the balcony doors were obviously locked and breaking them would be too noisy, everyone in the house would be immediately alerted, however the window was open and once I looked through it, I knew why.It wasn't particularly that high if I had the necessary equipments available but without them, jumping down four floors was seeking death, and if I didn't die I would definitely break something, which would then make escape impossible, I wasn't stupid enough to go through with that.'Hmmm...if only there was something long enough to reach down...they wouldn't be so nice to leave a rope lying around now would they?...I need a substitute' I thought, looking around the room, my mind flashed to the heap of new towels that stocked the bathroom shelf and a slow grin spread across my face."Seems the numerous towels will come in handy after all...." I muttered quietly, already formulating an escape plan in my head, I looked out
