Liam turned his eyes towards Zack and the latter knew exactly what he needed to do. Zack whistled out and four rugged guys appeared out of the crowd of students. Anastasia widened her eyes while Trevor only turned his head towards the boys who were rushing towards Liam to stand by his side. Liam was flaring and snapped his other fingers at his minons. “Attack him. Show him that he messed with the wrong king here.” Liam ordered and the boys all smirked as they pressed their knuckles together ready for a fight.
“Hey! No fighting in the hallway! I'll inform the principal.” A girl with big glasses made herself known as she showed her phone which she used to video the whole scene. One of Liam's minons was about to charge towards that girl with glasses when Trevor dashed to stop the guy. “Aren't you a man? Then fight me.” Trevor growled. His blue eyes sparking out a firery rage within. His aura became dangerous that the guy gulped and moved back. Liam was seething with anger. Who was this new guy and how dare he threaten his territory. And the thing that bothered him the most was the fact that he was defending Anastasia. His Anastasia. He turned back his gaze towards Anastasia. “Who is he? Your new toy?! Are you now cheating on your supposed boyfriend who's abroad?” Liam accused blatantly in anger and Anastasia gasped before her hand rised up and went across his face resonating a loud slap. Everyone gasped in all astonishment and many of them quickly brought out their phones to record the whole thing. Anastasia was gritting with anger. She didn't know when her hands went up in the air and slapped Liam so hard that Liam felt the ringing in his ears.Liam staggered a little with shock evident on his face as he held his stung cheek. His eyes grew red with anger as he clenched his teeth while glaring viciously at Anastasia. “Don't you dare malign my character ever Liam! You're nothing but a piece of scum!” Anastasia yelled and Liam screamed out of his lungs and was about to hit her when Trevor quickly grabbed his arm in mid air. In a flash, Trevor punched him in the face sending Liam backwards and to fall hard on the floor while groaning and touching his nose that was bleeding. Loud shocks and gasps erupted around. And Trevor grabbed Anastasia's arm and dragged her out of the scene as Liam's minons quickly got out of their way.“You'll pay for this!” Liam yelled behind them. Trevor took Anastasia to the cafeteria and she immediately threw his hand away from her arm. Trevor turned around to see Anastasia fuming. “Why did you have to interfere?” She asked giving him a one up look. Trevor stared at her blankly. “Why did you have to intervene Trevor? I could have handled it and not let that fool stain my character with his muddy thinking.” She said.“Oh sorry. I only meant help but I see am truly sticking my nose in your affairs just like last night. Maybe I shouldn't have stuck my nose last night as well.” Trevor taunted. “Are you rubbing the fact that you saved me last night on my face?” Anastasia asked. “Maybe I am because I now see how ungrateful you really are.” Trevor replied and Anastasia gasped. “I always pay my debts and I treated your wounds...” She paused when Trevor raised a hand. “Forget it. I wonder why I even bothered to look your way last night. I should have minded my own business and went my way. So stupid of me to want to help someone in need. I think it's better I don't. At least when I didn't, I never got into unnecessary confrontations and attention like today.” Trevor said and shoved both his hands into his pants pocket and walked away muttering something under his breath.Anastasia watched him storm out from the cafeteria and Meghan suddenly appeared from the entrance. “You shouldn't have spoken to him like that. He saved you yesterday and today as well.” Meghan said. Anastasia looked at her. “Are you on his side now?” she asked and Meghan slapped her forehead with a heavy sigh. “You know sometimes it's pointless to talk to you when you're this upset right now. I'll see you after lectures are over for the day.” Meghan said and walked away leaving Anastasia to stare with surprised eyes............After the incident, Anastasia never encountered Trevor from up close. Whenever they shared a class together, he always sat at the back of the class and at a far away distance from her. She didn't mind at all and preferred the distance. He was a strange man. She didn't want any attention dragged up and now her worst fears had come true. While scribbling out some notes on her notebook, two girls who sat in front of her turned around to ask her. “So is it true? Are you going out with that hunk of a new guy?” A blonde girl by the name of Judith asked with narrowed brows. Anastasia stared at her blankly and the other girl next to Judith with the name Mandy asked. “And are you freelancing with him while your so called abroad boyfriend is away? Huh? Tell us. We won't tell.” The two girls giggled amongst themselves while waiting for Anastasia's reply. “Why are you laughing Judith? It's normal. Am sure she misses being touched by a man and her boyfriend is far away. Makes a lot of sense. I will also do it too. Until my boyfriend comes back of course. Right Judith?” Mandy asked in a whisper with a giggle. “You're correct Mandy. Even I won't be able to wait a whole week without being railed. I'll get a sugarboy as well.” Judith replied also in a whisper as both girls turned their necks around to await Anastasia's response.“Am sorry girls but am not like you two. Am not a slut to open my legs so easily just because my boyfriend isn't in the country presently.” Anastasia replied and the two girls widened their eyes in shock.“Aren't you one? Everyone saw how that handsome stud what's his name, em.... Trevor protecting you from Liam the other day.” Mandy mocked with a smirk on her lips. “I mean who knows what could be happening behind closed doors, I overheard some girls saying that she let him in her apartment one night.” Judith said and Mandy feigned being shell shocked. Anastasia was shocked for real this time by their words. How did they know about her letting Trevor enter her apartment? The girls chuckled with evil grins on their faces after seeing Anastasia at a loss for words and turned their neck back to their front to continue their business. Anastasia took a sharp look towards Trevor who was busy paying attention to the lecturer. Anastasia knew Trevor couldn't have been the one. He didn't look like a gossip and plus, since the past few days, he had been avoiding and treating her like she didn't exist and she didn't mind it at all. He had saved her that night and she repayed the favor by taking care of his wounds. They were both even. But now the fact that these girls knew about how she allowed Trevor to enter her apartment surely the whole class and school would know about it as well and then her mind went sharply to only one person whose mouth couldn't stay in one place.“Meghan.” She whispered with her hands clenching tightly around her pen. The bell rang and everyone rushed out of the classroom to either head to their homes or hostels or to party out with friends. Even Anastasia rushed out of the classroom with the intention of locating Meghan. They always waited for each other outside the school building after lectures were over for the day and so she rushed out of school.Once she was out, she found some girls gathering around and clicking pictures. She walked past them and to her utter surprise, Adam was standing in front of her in the flesh. Her mouth parted slightly as her eyes widened and she froze on her spot. Was she dreaming? There was no way he could be here, he still had about two weeks left before spring break. And she knew Adam was very serious and focused when it came to his studies.Adam also couldn't take his eyes off of her. His heart tightened at just the mere sight of her. She looked so different since the last time he saw her when he boarded the flight two years ago. Her dark brown hair had grown a lot in the last two years. The last time her hair was short but now it was reaching her lower back. She even looked more beautiful and matured in person and up close. His amber eyes twinkled so brightly as if he was staring at a precious jewel. The two of them stared at each other with so much intensity and everyone around them all suddenly disappeared. It was just the two of them now. It was only their moment. The phone kept on ringing for a few minutes. “Won't you answer that?” Ana asked. Jack turned off his phone, ending the call before he continued with his dinner, acting like nothing had just happened. Ana blinked but kept to herself and also got back to picking on her food. His phone rang again, and Jack turned off his phone once again. “Please have your dinner, Ms. Robinson.” His reply was curt and Ana was quick to realize that. She wondered if the call from his wife had turned his mood into a sour one. His phone rang again, and this time Ana looked at Jack. “Your wife will only stop calling when you answer it.”“Have your dinner, Ms. Robinson.” Jack said harshly and Ana frowned before she angrily dropped the fork on her plate, used her butt to pull out her chair and stood up abruptly. “I can't concentrate on the food when your phone keeps on ringing all the time, Mr Miller!” Ana fumed before she attempted to take a step away from the chair but her other leg hit the leg of her ch
“Yes, Kayla. Please don't worry, I'm fine. It wasn't a serious accident.” Ana told Kayla over the phone. She lied to Kayla about crashing over at a colleague's house because of more workload at the office. She heard Kayla sigh with relief over the phone. “Okay, I'm glad it wasn't serious and that you are okay. I'd have felt horrible knowing if the accident had been fatal, I'm responsible for you, Anastasia.” Ana smiled. “I'm fine, Kayla. I'll be back in a day or two, depending on how fast we complete the work pending at the office.” “That's totally fine then. Oh, Nora wants to talk to you. I'll pass her the phone.” Kayla said and the line went silent for a few seconds before Nora's voice came in through the phone's speakers. “Hello bitch.” Nora's hyperactive voice rang through the speakers. “Hey Nora.” Ana winced a little when she slightly positioned her arm sling. “Okay, Kayla isn't near me right now. Now spill out everything. What the hell happened to you. And I don't buy th
Ana woke up and felt a bitter taste in her mouth. She tried to move to her side and groaned when she felt the soreness of her muscles and her left ribs. There was also a huge arm sling from her right shoulder down to her right arm. She bit her lower lip when she heard a woman telling her, “You're awake.” Ana forced her eyes to fully clear before she saw a woman seated by her bedside. And now Ana had a look around her and noticed this wasn't her bedroom at Kayla's apartment. She wondered where she was and held her head that now seemed to be very heavy for her neck. “Please don't move, your body isn't fully recovered yet.” The woman said and Ana looked at her again, possibly for her to tell her who she was. “The name's Jessie, I'm a nurse.” “Um, Jessie, what happened to me?...” Ana briefly closed her eyes and inhaled when a splitting headache suddenly gushed in her head and she had to rest her head against the soft headboard. “You were in an accident.” Jessie told her and Ana looked
Ana stepped inside the conference room, she was smoothing her brand new navy blue skirt and took a deep breath when she looked up. A long oval glass table was in front of her, and a few unfamiliar faces were seated. At the opposite end of the table was Jack who was seated with his eyes studying a particular file in his hands, and Kent who sat next to him. Ana wore a wide smile on her face as she looked at the business executives who were now staring back at her, waiting for her to begin. Her chest was thumping with every deep beat. She was very nervous, even though this wasn't her first time presenting in front of an audience, it was here first time presenting an idea for a project that was worth billions. She recalled how she only shut down her laptop around 4;23am this morning and only got around two hours of sleep. She really wanted to make it work, in Jack's eyes. She searched so much on the internet regarding ecological reserves with offices and shopping malls, did a lot of r
Woah! I can't believe I'm back here once again, gosh I almost forgot all about this book entirely. But I decided to return back to this book. A lot has happened since the last chapter, I was lost for a while and had to emotionally stabilize myself. I won't lie, the reason I dropped this book was because when I started writing it, I had hoped for a lot of readers to read it, so when it wasn't gaining the attention that it deserved, I felt really less motivated each day. But of course that was my young author mind back then and I was still a newbie in my brain. I have matured a lot now since completing HIS CAPTIVE ANGEL, so I'm thanking a few readers who still sought me out for this book. I honestly didn't think that anyone would still be interested in this book, but I was wrong. Thank you to those who still are here and are still patiently waiting for this book to commence. Like I said, I almost forgot this book's entire plot, so if you had asked me a couple weeks ago what MISTRES
Ana was taken to her office which was beside Jack's office. She didn't get to even admire her interior decors when a woman stepped into her office to inform her about accompanying Mr Miller out. Ana knew nothing about construction nor about architecture. She only knew about accounts and numbers. She only hoped she didn't let Jack down and be fired before she could find out anything about him. She wanted to know everything about him. She was more convinced he was Adam. Ana came outside and was directed to the CEO's car which was waiting for her. She quickly opened the door of the passenger seat and got seated before hearing Jack from the back seat. “You are late Ms Robinson.” “I am sorry sir.” Ana didn't know why he was making a big deal. She was barely even allowed to have a seat in her office when she was called out. She almost trippped on her little heels when rushing out the door. Ana couldn't help but look at him through the rear view mirror. His eyes were focused on the tablet
