Kasey wasn't sure what kind of hell was awaiting them, but from looking up at the boat that was armored to the damn sails, she was sure it wasn't anything good.

"Are you sure that thing can float?" Kasey questioned Shobek, her eyes looking over the long sharp spikes that peeked out of the water.

"There are enchantments to keep it afloat." Shobek smiled as he watched Kasey look over the heavily armored ship they were to use. Mammon already talking to the captain who looked like he was ready to piss his pants.

"Why are they.... so... Spikey?" Kasey knotted her brows together and looked up at Shobek as she huddled closer to him when a strong salty breeze brushed past her.

"So any sea monsters that we pass will have a hard time ripping into the ship." Shobek slid an arm around Kasey as she frowned and eyed the wooden dock they stood on.&

Kasey stared at Shobeks drunken figure as his red face started to pout again. After a moment, Shobek yanked Kasey on top of him. She began to protest as she pushed herself up and looked down at him. But Shobek wrapped an arm around her waist to keep her from leaving; a goofy smile spread across his face as he gave her a warm look. Kasey stared down at him stunned once again. "I've loved you for a long time, Kasey...." Shobeks words were soft and his expression slowly became pained and regretful. "But I've only ever hurt you and have caused you harm. I apologize." "N...None of this is your fault..!" Kasey looked away flustered, her attempts at rolling off him failing. "No... It is. I wasn't careful enough." Shobek tugged her against his chest until her head lay against his chest, his hand quietly petting her. As if to soothe her. Kasey again tried to remove herself from him but he insta

Shobek leaned back against the bedroom door. He hadn't left to find more soup. And frankly, he wasn't going to. Not since he was half-naked. He listened closely to what was happening inside the room and waited patiently for things to fall shockingly quiet. He slowly peeked his head inside and noticed Kasey curled up on the bed, her breathing soft and steady. He watched her for a moment longer before slipping into the room and closing the door. His steps were quiet as he walked to the wardrobe and pulled out a plain shirt. His eyes watched Kasey carefully as he slipped on the white, long-sleeved shirt. Afterward, he quickly left the room. Next time, I'll try to hold back a bit more on the drinks...Shobek thought as he walked down the hall looking for the best cure for his head. Four hours passed before Shobek started to make his way back to the room. His steps were lighter

Shobek sat carefully on the bed as he watched Kasey pace around the room. He could tell she wanted to ask more questions but was questioning whether she wanted to know. He wasn't surprised in the slightest about it. Shobek softly sighed and knocked his anxiety aside as he tried to ease Kasey's curiosity and fear. "Did you know... That I was created by humans?" Kasey look up surprised, she carefully inspected Shobek's sad expression as he stared at the ground. "Not biologically, but through their wishes and desires. That was how I came to be. Much like many other gods and demons." Kasey kept quiet as she slowly walked over to the couch and sat down, her eyes gently gazing at Shobeks slumped figure. "My name wasn't Shobek either. It was given to me after I...fell. I would say died, but, entities like me, cann

Kasey blankly stared at Shobek as he slowly stood and walked to the hall door, his hand resting on the knob as he sighed. "When...I felt it, It took me six years to escape hell, and I searched everywhere. I could feel myself drawing closer to the key of freedom, and that's when I saw you. As soon as I met your eyes, it clicked. But in my frantic search, I didn't realize the king sent his dogs after me. I only got a glimpse of you before being dragged back down into the depths of hell. The king... was not happy. And I felt his wrath each day he came down into his dungeons to torment me. He let me go after three years. He said that since I led him to you, he had cut my six-year sentence in half. If I had known I was being followed, I never would have sought you out. But from my carelessness, you were targeted. And for that, I am truly sorry..." Kasey stared at Shobek in alarm, confusion racing through her

Shobek continued to lead Kasey through the streets of the red-light district quickly, but as they both neared the fly zone a sultry, smooth voice called out to him. Shobek froze for a brief moment before trying to urge Kasey onward. "Now, babe, is that any way to treat me? I haven't seen you around here for SO long..." Kasey peered back at the stranger who leaned against the door frame from one of the brothels. The man had a tilted smile resting on his face with sharp yellow eyes that were encircled with red eyeshadow. His smile grew as he moved away from the door frame, his undercut was mostly brown except that the front of his hair was white. Kasey slowly looked back at Shobek questionably as the slightly smaller-built man moved towards them. His walk was that of a model, a hand sliding into his gray jeans as his shrug jacket blew open to reveal a mesh shirt that allowed anyone to see a rose tattoo on his left pectoral. If Kasey hadn't already been aware of how sexy mo

The two flew in silence for a while before Shobek decided to get her mind on something else, "The place we are going to is going to look much nicer than what you have seen so far. Each person there isn't evil, but not all of them are entirely good. They are constantly replaying their lives over and over. Though they don't know that. This is why talking to them is strictly forbidden. They won't take notice of you unless you make contact first. So no matter what, don't touch anyone or talk to anyone." Kasey frowned, "they are reliving their lives?" Shobek hesitated, "more like they are repeating scenarios of their lives. They repeat the same scenario until they finally do something different, then they move to the next scene. Depending on how they handle the scenarios, they can move on to heaven or move into their next phase of hell. the scenarios they repeat are ones they had wished they handled differently. Although very rarely do the people ever move on. Most are there fo

After Kasey finally calmed her body and mind down enough, she peered up at Shobek who had patiently been waiting for her to calm down, his hand running steady strokes down her back. "Better...?" Shobek looked down at her, his disheveled white hair falling into his eyes, and for a second, Kasey felt herself become stunned. Whether it was because he had sat there comforting her or the fact that his eyes held such a delicate look, her heart fluttered, lighting a bolt of butterflies to life in her stomach. Kasey slowly drew back suddenly feeling embarrassed about clinging to him, "yes.. thank you.." "Anything for you...How about you take a shower to relax? I'll find you some clothes... I'm sure there will be something lying around." Shobek shot the bathroom door a small glance, "unless Belasco is still a virgin..." Slowly the human girl looked into the pale arctic blue eyes surrounded by black fur. After a moment, Kasey finally lifted her hand and started petting the dog. Ananta's tail wagged as she laid down, nuzzling up to Kasey's chest. Kasey's silent tears rolled down her cheeks as she lost the energy to pet the warm husky in front of her. But Ananta only whined until slowly, Kasey again started to run a hand down its soft coat. Ananta licked a tear on Kasey's cheek before laying its head back down, closing its eyes. A sob shook Kasey's body again as she hugged the dog tightly, letting the tears get lost in Ananta's black and white coat. Ananta didn't struggle and simply folded her ears back, letting the girl weep in peace. Shobek looked at the stairs for the fiftieth time and Belasco heavily sig

Sonneillon hugged her closer to him as he savored each millisecond, Kasey gripped onto his shirt as her legs started to become weak and she couldn't help but lean against him for support. After all four had finished eating the servants came back and cleared the table while the three men talked about politics. Kasey's determination to learn more about this new world she had been swallowed by failing as she kept tuning out pieces of the conversation until she wasn't listening at all. Politics just weren't her thing. Eventually, Mammon shifted the conversation to what they had all been gathered here for. "We are here to make Kasey into a full fledge demon so she will have a chance at survival. Therefore, we need her soul intact, Pyro." Mammon rubbed his hands together and smiled widely at the Prince. "Have what I asked for already been arranged then?" Pyro watched Mammon closely to pick out any lies he dared spill. Mammon tossed his head from side to side for a moment before he smiled, "I think the only thing that hasn't been accomplished was the optional choice. Everything else has been arranged or prepared." Pyro slowly looked over at Kasey who

He smiled warmly at her and slowly stood up. "Lovely for you to join us! The others will be arriving shortly," Mammon moved away from his spot at the head of the table and pulled out the seat that was next to him. "Please, sit." Kasey hesitated before smiling slightly and sat in the chair with a cautious "thank you". "I am quite happy that you did decide to join us, but I am curious why you didn't say no?" Mammon pushed in her chair before he grabbed a bottle of wine that one of his servants started to bring over to pour into her glass. He instantly shooed the servant away as he poured it himself for her. "I didn't realize no was an option if I am being honest. Though if you want th

As soon as Kasey let go of Mammon's hand, she had a sinking feeling in her chest. As if she just sold herself to him. The enthusiasm Mammon was clearly showing wasn't much help either. The maid led her to a door that was a few doors down from the office they had appeared in, slowly Kasey worked up the courage to ask where they were. The blue-haired maid bowed after she opened the door for Kasey, gesturing for her to enter before looking up at the human girl and replying, "This is lord Mammon's mansion, miss. I am Crystle. I will be your caretaker while you are here, miss." Her eyes were an icy blue and her lips were pale against her snow-white skin. The black and white maid outfit is a heavy contrast to her expression. But she still seemed beautiful. "How long do you think I will be here?" • Mistakes of the Past   Hunt

It was night by the time Kasey paused to rest. She sat down on a fallen tree. Why the tree had fallen was the last thing on her mind. what was on her mind was how broken her legs felt. And how badly her arm ached. It might've been basically healed, but it was still sore from the whole event. Kasey took off her bag and pulled out a water bottle and an apple. She took a few short swigs of the water before putting it away and putting the bag back on. She slowly ate the apple as she used her demon eye's powers again to peer around her. She was alone for now. The phone she stole chimed and Kasey jumped before peering down at the screen. It was a message. "Have you not arrived?" Kasey sighed and texted back, "a few miles north still." "I see." Kasey took another bite of her apple as she jumped down from the tree and continued her walk. Shobek paced back in forth on the lawn while Belasco went around the whole house to make sure he wasn't mistaken. But

The doctor that showed up only did the bare minimum since Kasey was still human. Though he was supposedly trustworthy, Shobek made the doctor seal his lips about this incident with a bit of his magic. Though it was risky, both demon lords decided a tiny spark shouldn't prove where they were. So it was done. If the doctor spoke of the incident, he would instantly be consumed by Shobek's flames. "The doctor said she should be better after a few days, especially with her quick healin. So you don't need to guard her..." Belasco again repeated to the stubborn dragon. "We didn't even know when he arrived. There's no promise that he can't appear in her room either. It's better if someone stays in her room with her." Shobek snarled, his eyes watching Kasey as she lay on the bed, staring emptily at the ceiling. Belasco sighed, giving up on his attempt to let Kasey rest in peace, "just promise me, that if she asks for some alone time, you will listen to her." Shobek nod

Kasey argued with Belasco the next morning about letting her take the day off. But Belasco refused to train her until tomorrow and locked himself in his gaming room. Kasey stormed downstairs and angrily took a bite of an apple. Shobek played on the console until he noticed Kasey's presence. "What's wrong?" Shobek paused his game and looked over at her. "Belasco is making me take a day off," Kasey responded before taking another bite. "Shouldn't you be happy you get a day off?" Shobek got up and walked over to her, a hand gently touching over a bruise that was left on her cheek. "He beat you up pretty badly.." "I want to train! Besides, most of the scratches are already healed. The bruises are mostly faded too." Kasey responded pulling away from Shobeks touch. "I didn't know you had fast healing," Shobek stepped back to give her space. "I didn't either," Kasey said around a bite of the apple. "I could try to train you...?" Shobek hesitantly offe

Kasey picked out a more comfortable outfit amongst the clothes Shobek ordered for her online through Belasco's account. Taking the outfit to the bathroom, Kasey quickly got in and washed from the day's grueling work. Her mind drifted to the time she let herself fall into her pit of depression, her body slowly growing limp as she stood under the water. No, not again... Kasey shook her head and continued to wash the shampoo out of her hair. After she was done she got out, dried off, and slipped into her underwear and the black sweatpants and lavender shirt she picked out. Quickly tying her hair back into a sloppy bun she headed back downstairs, patting Ananta on the head as she headed back outside. The two had stopped arguing by this time but a tense silence remained between the two. "How's the food coming?" Kasey slowly asked, hoping to NOT cause another fight. "Almost done," Shobek responded. Belasco mockingly mouthed what Shobek said. "I saw that," Shobe

Practice magic until twelve, eat lunch, then do combat training until five, having only short breaks between the course. Shobek watched each day, impressed with her increasing stamina and faster response times. Though she still had yet to beat Belasco, day by day, she was pushing through, getting closer each time. Belasco panted as he again blocked and dodged Kasey's endless attacks, jumping over another leg sweep, "let's take a break!" Kasey slowly stood back up, panting as she walked over to the outside table and picked up a towel to wipe off her sweat. "I think I almost had you there." Belasco paused then chuckled, "not quite sweets!" Belasco took a long swig of his drink as Shobek stepped outside. "No, she definitely had you there. You've gotten much weaker Belasco." Shobek walked over to the two with two cups of
