Chapter Six : Teased!

"Yael…!"

Kate screamed at the top of her lungs to stop Yael from saying more. She put down her spoon and rubbed her face, hoping the redness would fade. She suddenly felt full.

She sighed heavily and glared at him, who was still eating while looking at her reaction from time to time. 

He was suppressing a teasing smile. "Hmmm. My name sounds good to my ear when it comes from your mouth."

"Does cursing sound good too?" She asked sarcastically.

"If it comes from you."

"Fuck you!" 

Yael chuckled. "Sure!"

Kate's eyes widened in surprise. This guy can really test my patience! 

"I'm full!" she exclaimed, rolling her eyes as she stood up. She was about to leave when he suddenly grabbed her wrist and pulled her.

The force that pulled her was unexpected. With a gasp, she was thrown into his arms. Suddenly, he inserted a tablet into her parted lips and handed her a glass of water.

"I was just kidding. Drink your medicine first," he said as if he hadn't purposefully irritated her.

Kate glared at him and swallowed the medicine. But Yael was just smiling at her from ear to ear.

"If only I could swim that far, I would definitely not be here anymore.” Kate whispered, but Yael heard.

He burst out laughing. "There's a typhoon, baby. Even if you're a great swimmer, you just can not do that."

"That too. Just when will this typhoon stop?"

"I don't know?" 

"How come you didn't know?!" He lived here right? He must be aware of the weather forecast because he was living on an island. 

"Do you think I watch the news on this island?"

Kate took another look at the house. And, no, she couldn't see any television or radio.

"I don't have time to listen to the news because I'm too busy, and the electricity here is just limited. I only use solar energy, but since there's a typhoon, I'm not sure if the remaining energy will be enough to supply what I can consume until the typhoon passes."

"What?!" Kate's eyes got confused and filled with worry. "Then how will I return?"

Yael shrugged his shoulders. 

"Don't you have a cellular phone?"

Yael pointed at the living room's center table. "You can check."

Kate walked towards it and noticed his phone on top of it. She immediately picked it up and tried to open it, but it didn’t.

"Damn it!"

"I doubt if there's a signal even if it's fully charged."

Kate's shoulder sagged with disappointment. That's correct.

"Why are you moping around? Don't you realize it's a privilege to live with me here?"

Kate looked at him in disbelief. "How come you seem to be enjoying my misery?"

Yael laughed. "Baby, even if you throw a fit and the typhoon leaves, there's no guarantee that you'll be able to leave already, well, that's if rescuers arrived first."

"What if there aren't any rescuers?"

"Then you'll stay here with me until we run out of supplies."

Kate's pupils dilated. But his cabinets were still stocked with food! "Can't you just take me to the nearest port once the typhoon has passed?"

"I can."

"Thank yo---"

"If I have a boat. Unfortunately, I don't."

"What?! Then how did you get these things here?" How did he get to Houston without a boat?

"I have my caretaker deliver these supplies on a monthly basis."

Kate's mouth dropped open at what she heard.

"And he just delivered it here yesterday."

Kate was rooted in her place. "I've got to wait for a month?!"

"Ahuh." Yael just watched her lose her color. He looked so serious.

"I've got to stay here with you?!" 

"Why do you sound so disappointed?"

"Who would not be?!"

Yael laughed heartily gone his seriousness. "Kate, baby. You're hurting my feelings."

Kate looked at him like he lost his head. 

"I am so grateful that someone's going to accompany me here, and then…" Yael looked at her when he thought of something, and smirked. "Afraid that you might be tempted?"

What the hell is this man talking about?!

"It would be fine with me. I will gladly return the favor to you just like the last time."

This man really is getting on my nerves!

"Anyway, I'll just prepare your bath. You badly need one."

"You…!"

Yael chuckled and Kate was left irritated in the kitchen. She unconsciously smelled herself.

"I don't smell that bad!" She turned around and saw him watching her smelling her own body. He was suppressing his smile as if he caught her doing a mischievous act. 

Her eyes squinted. "What?!"

Yael shook his head. "There's the bathroom." He pointed at the door next to the kitchen area. "You can clean yourself there."

"I don't have spare clothes."

"I know."

Her eyebrows furrowed even more.

"I will lend you my shirt and boxers unless you want to roam around here with your birthday suit."

"You know what? Why don't you just tell me if you wanna see me naked huh?!"

“Oh yeah. I would love that."

Kate stomped her feet in annoyance. He has an answer for everything she said. Better not to speak with him anymore! She grabbed the towel he was holding and went straight to the bathroom.

Finally!

She roamed her eyes in the bathroom. It was huge. Maybe because it was located outside the cabin. She noticed a pit full of hot water. 

Oh, he warmth the water for me. 

She shrugged her shoulders and reminded herself to thank him when she was done. He deserves it even though he's irritating.

With that, she started to take a bath and cleanse her wound. She was thankful that her bruises were already not painful. Maybe because of the medicine he put. She sighed. Another reason to thank him.

She was busy cleaning her wound when the thunderstorm started to roar again. With that, she immediately ended her bath. 

She was about to wrap her body with the towel when the lights went off at the same time a loud thunderstorm echoed again making her scream.

Scared of the dark and the sounds of a thunderstorm, she sprinted out of the bathroom. She ran too fast holding the towel wrapped in her body when she suddenly bump into Yael who was holding a pair of shirts and boxers. Her body bounce back making the towel loosen and it slowly fell to the floor.

Her eyes widened in disbelief and tried hard to cover her body. Knowing that her hands were not enough to hide her nakedness, she screamed and cursed again.

“No! Don't look...! Shit…!”
