TERRA'S POV:

THAT SAME DAY:

“I'm so sorry I scared you. I just saw you from afar and was shocked.” He apologized as I stood up in fear.

Standing right in front of me was the handsome CEO of Lords Gaming Company, James Lauder, whom I hadn't seen in a while. We had only seen each other a few times after we closed the deal. For a moment, I was thrown off by how great he looked, especially because this was the first time I had seen him in a suit, it fit him perfectly. I was also baffled to see him here around this time of the evening. Anyway, everyone in the whole city often came here as it was the heart of the town.

“It's fine.” I cleared my throat and heaved out a breath of relief then went ahead to sit back.

“May I sit next to you?” He inquired in a gentlemanly way and I glanced at him, humming in response.

I shifted my black purse closer to me so as to give him space to sit. He took a seat and I caught a whiff of his strong masculine cologne that smells so familiar.

No single clothes were seen in it.“Same here! Will there be a new release soon?” Another girl inquired from one of the employees who was too busy and scared to even answer the girls so he simply nodded and walked away.“I'm so curious about who is even behind these designs and clothing lines. They have me spending my entire savings on them plus I want the designer to design my wedding dress. Did you see the release of last year's wedding gown? I cried watching one of the models.” A woman talking with her friend close to the store said,“Me too but when did you even get a man?” They both laughed out loud.“I'm planning ahead. I even told my daddy.” Her friend shook her head at her and they saw the medias approaching so they fixed themselves up as they were excited to be on th

TERRA'S POV:Eleanor was a joyful, happy soul and many others said she had most of my features though she and her brother were identical. Her hair was dark brown and so long, we often went for a trim. She was like my best friend, we went to get our nails done together, we picked out matching outfits obviously without leaving Eric out as I had gotten a designer just for his clothes. Her eyes were a mixture of her father's eyes and mine but my daughter was stubborn, playful, her brother's keeper and outspoken. The twins were sometimes so opposite, I was baffled.“Go change out of your uniform and I will be there to give you two a shower.” She made a stank face and folded her arms across her chest.I laughed and stopped chopping the onions and the smell of the food made me feel hungry, "What?”“Oh nothing, but we have been bathing and taking care of ourselves. You can please only come and supervise afterwards, okay pretty mother?” She made baby eyes and I shook my head at her.“Okay, pre

I trusted James and he was like a best friend to me, he was super caring, attentive and never hesitated to be vulnerable to me no matter the situation. He had just met the twins two years ago on their fifth birthday even though we have continued talking ever since that evening at the park.It wasn't easy for me to give access to people but I was slowly doing it while declining a lot of others.“Where's Ivy?” They pouted and Eleanor fought to get out of his grip since she was getting mad Ivy wasn't here.Ivy, his daughter, had become their friend whom they had a lot of slumber parties with and she was the most respectful, precious little girl ever and she played around with the kids though she was two years older. NINA'S POV:The sun was beaming on a lively Sunday afternoon when I stepped out of the mansion, adorned in a sleeveless, floral-patterned dress. The attire was not only aesthetically pleasing, but it was also perfectly suited for the warm climate. As the waiter departed after taking our orders, I let out a small yet appreciative smile in his direction taking in the sweet smell of the restaurant but my mood soured right after.“So Nina, what's going on with you? I feel like I only ever see you with Mrs Anderson lately. At events, at the malls, are you two having a sexual relationship or something?” Deborah questioned laughing, making my other friends burst out in fits of laughter while I frowed my eyebrow completely irritated and annoyed by her dumb question.Like what in the world…did that mean?Earlier today, my friends from high school called and invited me out. NINA'S POV:LATER THAT DAY:I took off my heels as I stepped back into the house I grew up in. I smiled sadly as I recalled a memory of my father and I. It was one of those days back in college where I had just returned back from an outing with Ross and the others, and the guys had been talking in coded tone to Ross the entire evening about a girl and he had just kept on smirking. I hated that they didn't include me and even worse the thought of Ross being with another girl.“Why are you so upset?” My father asked, removing his glasses and placing his laptop on the center table as I sat on the couch folding my arms across my chest and huffed. He was most likely working and I really wasn't about to bother him about any boy issue.“Nothing. I'm going to my room now.” I tried to stand up but his serious expression and stern voice made me stop in my tracks and sigh deeply.“Just talk to me. Is it the guys or please don't tell me it's Ross?” He let out an exaggerated sigh as I just looke

The staff by the elevator and the ones we came across greeted and gawked but I spared them no glance.Over the years, my company was all that mattered, we had created dozens of restaurants around the world, hotels, invested in various amusement parks and one which my team and I had spent time, and money on and it was opening very soon in about three to four months. The basic subject of today's meeting was all about the progress and setting an exact date.We finally arrived at the board room and I exhaled deeply when I saw my mother discussing with one of the boa

TERRA'S POV:THREE MONTHS LATER:“How busy are you? ‘Cause I was thinking we can go out for lunch so I can make it up to you.” Ross suggested, and I rolled my eyes playfully at him. He knew I was mad at him for him being mad at me for worrying too much and stressing out about the kids as it was their first day at a new school. It had just been hard since the welcome party and literally settling in Salandi was hard for me in a way that it was hard for the kids.“I'm actually extremely busy right now, and I will be heading to Nina's trial as today is the sentencing. Later tonight?” I suggested and he heaved out a sigh, obviously displeased at the fact that I was headed to Nina's trial but I needed to be there. I just had the need. They had been able to give the old woman and her grandson the sum of a million for their help in finding Nina and the family was given the media space to be able to show their appreciation to Ross and Terra, letting them know it will go a long way in pulling them out of the hand to mouth lifestyle they had been living especially since the grandmother was single handedly raising the boy.“Mummy.” Eric called out from his bed with droopy eyes, and she waved at him with a smile trying her best not to wake Eleanour who was finding it hard to close her eyes.Eric was not shot neither was Ross but Terra still requested he stayed

Then they run out to the nearest farm or police station and get help. And safe! This is a solid plan after all …I can do it, what could possibly go wrong? TERRA'S POV:A DAY LATER:It had been more than 35 hours since I had last seen my kids and since the kidnapping. A flier with Nina's face had been posted everywhere and according to my friends and Fiona, the entire police force was working on it.But it was just Nina….what was so hard about finding and capturing her?I had just been numb, and I could neither eat nor sleep. Last night, when I couldn't sleep, I snuck out in my own mansion in order to prevent Evelyn, who was literally everywhere, from waking up. I drove in one of my old sports cars, which allowed the cool night breeze to run through my body and blow away the tears which kept flowing and I drove to weird looking areas, banishing the thought that I might be robbed, and showed them images of Nina if they had come across her but they had nothing.A particularly shabby looking man asked for some money before providing answers, feigning that he recognised her and as soon as I handed him money, he tucked it into his pocket and
