Still Joanna's Point Of View

As I gazed into the mirror, it was hard to believe that the beautiful woman looking back at me was indeed myself.

The artists had worked their magic on me, expertly crafting my makeup. My eyes were beautifully highlighted with a flaming shadow in soft colors that suited me perfectly. And complementing the look from head to toe, my dress was skillfully tailored. Mariam truly outdid herself, she persuaded me to choose this dress yesterday so the seamstress could make the adjustments in time. The result was absolutely stunning.

My heart leapt at the thought that Clyde would be seeing me in a few minutes. I was certain he was in for quite a surprise. God, I could hardly contain my excitement about being with him. Tonight we would finally be in each other's arms again, but this time as husband and wife.

"Stop daydreaming again, Joanna. I can already hear the organ playing, which means you need to make your entranc

When Clyde saw us coming, he heaved a sigh of relief. His eyes were fixed on me, filled with a glow of joy and adoration. It was as if the world around us faded away, leaving just the two of us in that moment. There was a depth of love in his eyes that made my heart swell. Then he was overcome with emotion and I saw his eyes water, a single tear running down his cheek.Alessandro patted him reassuringly on the shoulder and whispered to him as he watched my entrance with an approving grin. Sir Georg and Mariam also stood there, glowing with pride. I could see that they too were overcome with emotions they were trying very hard to hide. But Clyde's gaze never left me. It was a look that promised eternity, a silent vow of undying devotion. Our silent interaction was interrupted by my father's voice."Clyde, I give you my only daughter in good faith. From this day on she is yours. But you have to promise me that you will always make her happy, treat her with respect, more than you did in

In the Mancini Clan..."My King, the kidnappers were one hundred precent werewolves. They covered their scent. They took the highway south and then left in helicopters," Clyde's Secretary Jace reported. "We are now investigating which pack they belong to. Not all of them are wealthy enough to own an aircraft and that brand of vehicles, so we may know within hours which trail to follow."Clyde sat up straight on the bed, still unable to believe that Joanna had been taken. And now he learned that ordinary werewolves were behind all this."How dare they mess with me! Do they even know who I am? Let me know as soon as possible which Alpha dared to challenge me, I will deal with him personally. His last minutes are ticking away. If that bastard lays a finger on Joanna..."Clyde half-shifted into his Lycan, his wolf unable to bear the thought of not being able to protect Joanna. Xin adores his human mate, he was the one who drew Clyde's attention to her when they first met. He had describe

Prince Clyde's Point Of ViewDamn it!!! I didn't see that coming. If Joanna were the mate of a werewolf, it couldn't be anything but an Alpha. This operation was far too big to be set up for an ordinary pack member. Rather than approaching me to discuss the issue, he resorted to kidnapping my wife like the criminal he truly is.Shit no, I couldn't leave this case like this. Joanna was mine, I even had the wedding book in my pocket as proof of our commitment. Alpha should have kept his hands off my wife and just called in the Council. If he had done so, Joanna would undoubtedly turned his ass down, she would have rejected him and choose to stay by my side instead. Humans don't experience a mate bond like we do, and whatever attraction she felt wouldn't be enough to pull her away from me permanently.Sybille's words deeply troubled me. Joanna betrayed my trust by spending the night with the Alpha and keeping it from me. That hurt, a lot.Probably she couldn't challenge t

In the Mancini Family Living Room…Natali helped Clyde to the chair next to her father and sat down on a small couch beside him.In front of them stood Alira, with Jace standing at a distance. The Secretary called Prince Alessandro in the mind link to drop whatever he was doing and sign up to the living room with the utmost urgency. The man was in the study working on his laptop when he received the message.‘What's going on, Jace? I wanted to finish some work to allow Clyde could focus on the case with Joanna. Couldn't you do it without me for a while?’ he asked, his eyes still glued to the screen.‘Actually, no. This whole meeting is all about you, Alessandro. I hate to break it to you, but that lady Alira is here. She has been here for a few days now."With a jerk, the Prince's head was up and his face turned into an iron mask.He knew what his father was up to but had no intention of taking Alira as his mate. What they had was a temporary fling that he had no plans of making into

Carlo pulled away from Alira, but his hand was like a vise around her throat. His eyes were like hot coals, gone was the moment of euphoria of having finally found his mate. Instead, he now saw a potential criminal who had done serious harm to his family.Everyone in the living room jumped to their feet as Clyde and Jace surrounded the couple."Alira, you better come clean. There are two of the strongest Lycans among us, and I cannot stand alone to protect you. The best thing you can do at this moment is to confess," Jace dryly suggested to the woman. "We already know that Sybille has something to do with this. Now we want to know what your part is. And make no mistake, nobody here is in the mood for games."The woman swallowed several times and looked anxiously at her mate. But Carlo's priority was his brother, the mate bond was less important to the throne now."Yes, the closer you are to the truth, the better for you. I am your mate, but my feelings are secondary to those of the Cr

Alpha Abel’s Point Of ViewMy mate had been in my pack for three days now. Hex, my wolf, couldn't stand being close to her, the scent of another man on her made him frantic. The horny beast within me had eagerly anticipated reliving that night, it was all he'd talked about for days. Darn, my Beta reacted the venue too late. Joanna's Point Of ViewThe more I listened to the Alpha, the clearer it became that he had no plans of releasing me any time soon. His resolute gaze and commanding presence made that abundantly evident. I needed a different approach, perhaps earning his trust would grant me some freedom here. Being confined to that room for days felt like torture and was ultimately futile. Meanwhile, Clyde must have been consumed by grief, I couldn't help but wonder if he already knew the truth. I held back my anger and turned the Alpha."Is my husband aware that I'm here?" His eyes flickered darkly and his face tightened. it was clear he didn't like my question."If you're referring to your human lover, not yet. However, that will soon change as we’re in the process of annulling your marriage. It’s a mistake you need to correct promptly," he growled. Alpha Abel’s Point Of View Seeing Joanna doubt her human lover was the beginning of his end.Liars never won a game, and my mate was very susceptible to this kind of slip-up. She clearly came from a sheltered environment where deception was highly charged. The various emotions on her face did not bode well for the man. Good for me."Oh well, it didn't matter. Sybille was an ordinary werewolf, maybe she wasn't completely related to the man," I explained. “And there were still werewolves running around who had at least one human parent.” Of course, I knew that Sybille was a full-blooded werewolf and probably a pure one at that. But I used this opportunity to win my mate over as if I wished the man no harm.In the meantime, Eric was keeping an eye on the family, and now that he was back in contact with Sybille, we would know what steps they would take to get Joanna back. I was not worried about the police overseas, they had no jurisdiction in America. And by the time Jo

As they stood before the grand, imposing doors of the Palace, Butler Clark came before them, his presence as steady as the ancient stones of the building itself.Clark was the same age as Alpha Maceo, but unlike the Alpha, who retained a youthful vigor, the signs of aging were etched deeply into the butler's face, revealing his years of service and loyal duty. Moreover, the butler was not as athletically built, nor did he move with the same fluid grace as Maceo.“Alpha, are you here to speak with the King?” he asked the visitor icy calm, his tone devoid of any warmth. “Please, follow me, the family is on the back terrace, enjoying a moment of respite now that Queen Joanna needs her strength.”Before the Alpha could offer a reply, Clark turned on his heel, clearly expecting the pair to follow him without question. The Alpha and his granddaughter exchanged a surprised glance, before stepping into the grand foyer. "What did you say?" Alpha Maceo of the Falcon Crest pack thundered, his voice reverberating through the sterile confines of the Royal doctor's office. "Man, run the tests again! This… this cannot be true!"His face, normally a picture of composure and quiet strength, was now flushed crimson, a mask of disbelief and rising fury. He glared at Doctor Andrew, who sat calmly across the polished mahogany desk, his expression carefully neutral. Andrew held out the thin sheets of paper with the results. He read the conclusions aloud, his voice steady, each word a hammer blow to Maceo's bewildered mind, shattering the carefully constructed facade of his reality."Alpha, these are simple English words, and I assure you, I read them correctly," Doctor Andrew sighed, his eyes reflecting a quiet understanding of the turmoil raging within the older man. "And I assure you, I have run these tests five times. I could hardly believe it myself. But your wolf knows the truth. During the collaboration to

Nervously Sybille stepped into her new mate's apartment.Even though they had spent hours together in the vehicle returning to the pack, he had barely spoken to her. Kenrick had worked on his iPad the entire trip. He checked news channels reporting on events in the Kingdom and Woodland. He was meticulous, his brow furrowed in concentration. His phone also constantly buzzed and vibrated. His colleagues worldwide wanted his personal account of the events surrounding Alpha Abel and the Royals. He answered them with clipped, precise words, his voice a low rumble.Although he always treated her respectfully, she could clearly feel his underlying power.Kenrick was definitely Alpha material. His dominance and confidence radiated from him. The intense look in his eyes demanded obedience. His strong grip on her hand, when he did touch her, revealed his inner strength.Sybille knew she should not underestimate him.She had not interacted much with him before. In Woodland, a convoy of vehicles, somber and silent, rolled to a halt before the imposing, massive gates.Three vehicles peeled away from the main group, one of them a hearse carrying the body of the fallen Alpha Abel. A lone warrior approached the lead vehicle, where Kenrick sat in the back with Sybille. As the guard drew closer, he inhaled deeply, his senses sharp, and his eyes widened in shock."Alpha Kenrick," he stammered, disbelief thick in his voice. "We received no word of your arrival. We knew Alpha Abel was defeated since the pack link with him was severed, but the circumstances were shrouded in rumors."The warrior sprinted back towards the gates and pressed a button. The heavy gates began to slide open, granting the cars access to the pack lands. He sent an alert through the mind link, informing the pack of Kenrick's sudden arrival.A flurry of activity erupted within the packhouse. There was no time for formal celebrations or to prepare a grand welcome. “Clyde,” Joanna murmured weak as she slowly opened her eyes, her gaze meeting his.The Crown Prince, his face carved in relief and overflowing with joy, kissed her all over her face as his heart is overflowing with gratitude. The past few minutes had been a terrifying ordeal for the entire family, a roller coaster of emotions that had left them breathless.“Yes, I’m here with you,” Clyde beamed emotionally. “You scared the hell out of me, my love. Once everyone had taken their seats and the Royals stood at some distance in front of him, Clyde addressed the attendees, his voice resonating with a solemn gravity.“As you all know, my wife, Joanna, was the fated mate of Alpha Abel,” he stated the obvious. “With his death, the bond was broken, not only with the marked mate but also with my wife. "Jace, I can’t bear to lose her," the Crown Prince softly growled with anguish, as he leaned heavily against the cold, sterile wall outside the ward where Joanna was being examined. His knuckles were white, his body trembling with suppressed terror."What could have caused all this? Was it the breaking of the bond with Alpha Abel?""I believe so. Sybille went through the same experience, but her Lycan helped her through it," the Secretary replied gravely. "Joanna is only half-transformed, and her wolf is still too weak. And the pups, man, this is dire."Fifteen agonizing minutes later, the doctor emerged from the examination room, his face a mask of grim concern, his shoulders slumped with a heavy weariness. Clyde and Jace rushed towards him, their hearts pounding with dread. The doctor's posture alone spoke volumes, painting a bleak picture."Doctor, my wife…" the Crown Prince stammered with fear.
