Elyana's POV

I woke up early the next morning because my mind couldn't stop giving me so many things to think about. It was disturbing, I admit, but I wanted to respect Felicity's decision to make the distance even though I still didn't know the reason behind it. Furthermore, Pretzel promised to keep me updated if she learned anything from Felicity and I wanted to wait rather than disturb that silly gay.

It was a good thing there were some other things I wanted to focus on. That was more important than wasting time chasing him with reasons he seemed he wouldn't even care to tell me.

I decided to text Quintin that morning. I told him to meet me at the popular ice cream parlor, just not far from the subdivision where I lived. It would not be a good idea to ask him to just come to the mansion because my mother would surely ask him many questions.

"Mom, I'm going to the mall. I need shoes to pair with the dress I will wear at the New Year's Eve party." I used an excuse.

Elyana's POV I woke up early and didn't tell anyone where I would be heading. My parents were both still sleeping and it was still dark around six in the morning. It was cloudy at that time and the wind was cold. I knew I was earlier than the time Doctor Chelsea told us to come, but I was beyond excited and at the same time nervous. I couldn't even sleep long enough, but I felt I had enough energy to go on from that day onward. I left the house wearing an outfit that anyone would think I went for a jog in so that, in case they became suspicious of where I went, I could easily prove where I went. The clinic was still closed when I came. Doctor Chelsea's secretary arrived around seven and she immediately let me in. I sent Florentin a message to inform him I was already there, and he replied twenty minutes later, telling me he was on his way. After a few minutes, the secretary received a call. She turned to me when she put the phone down. "The doctor told me to prepare you now,

"I called to say I'm sorry. I received a call this morning from my secretary that a big client came to the office early. I immediately left the clinic," he said and that explained the reason why I couldn't find it when the procedure was over. "It's okay. You did your assignment before you left, so thank you very much for that," I replied calmly. I heard Quintin laugh, but it sounded awkward to me. "Y-you're right." I seemed to notice something strange when he paused. There were some noises in his background but I couldn't distinguish what exactly those were. "What was that, Quintin? Are you alright?" I immediately asked out of curiosity and concern. "What do you mean?" he returned. "There's something noisy. Did you fall on your seat?" I tried focusing my ears on the noise, which surprisingly suddenly disappeared. "There is nothing noisy here," he said, which surprised me even more. "O-okay, maybe I'm just imagining things," I said as an excuse, but I was certain I

Third-person's POV When Elyana pressed the red button on her cellular phone, the call to Quintin's phone remained ongoing. Felicity was on the other line, listening to the conversation between the two, quietly thinking and feeling guilty about what he did without his best friend's consent. The rustling and strange noises that Elyana heard came from Felicity's side. Fortunately, she was not too curious about it and didn't ask so much. They would have been interrupted by chance if she found out the call was a conference call and it was him who was eavesdropping. "You must have heard everything," Quintin uttered when Elyana was no longer in the other line. "Obvious enough," he said sarcastically to hide what he felt at that time. The matchmaker sighed. He knew it would make her extremely mad once she found out and that scared him so much. … As the days walked by, Elyana always checked herself in the mirror. Checking any chances in her body that could be a sign she woul

Elyana's POV I went back to the mansion after going to the clinic. I was grateful for the good news I was carrying that day, but my tears wouldn't stop falling from my eyes. Those tears blurred my vision while driving, yet I did my best to drive safely until I reached home. 'I am no longer alone,' I thought. I finally had one precious gift inside my womb at the time so I needed to be careful with everything I did. I won't let that opportunity to be a mother slide into my palm. When she reached the mansion, I saw one servant walking down the stairs. She was holding a duster and smiling brightly at me. "Good morning, Miss Elyana!" She greeted me. I greeted her back with a smile. She moved on the side of the stairs to give me way, but I intended to force her to stop midway. She moved to the other side again so I could pass by, but I blocked her again. Her eyes widened when I suddenly hugged her. I saw those big eyes when I let go of her. I didn't say anything after and

Elyana's Point of View Two weeks after I found out I was pregnant, I started feeling some pregnancy symptoms. It was shocking but normal, according to Dr. Chelsea, because the precious angel inside my womb was only a few weeks old. She said it might go away eventually, but I was uncomfortable with what I was feeling every day, making me go back and forth to her clinic whenever there was something because I was afraid of what was going on. A slight pain alarmed me. Everyone in the house felt the same way, making the mansion like a war zone every time I mentioned I was in pain. The doctor was laughing at me, but she claimed to understand me perfectly. After all, it was my first baby, so I was being overprotective of him or her. Aside from the morning sickness and unexpected pains, I recently noticed countless things around. Even with food, I became picky, disliking the smell of garlic and onions, which suddenly seemed to have a strong smell. My senses of smell, taste, and h

Elyana's POV Felicity went back to the nuns he was talking to and later on, a priest came closer to them. I wasn't meant to wait, but I did stay because he told me to. I didn't expect I wouldn't be seeing him that day, but I had silent hopes that we could stumble in places and he would talk to me normally. I missed him. Yes, I do, but just like what I said before, I tried to focus my mind on staying healthy and growing the child inside my womb without thinking of anything that would stress me; however, it was such a great coincidence to see him at that church—-in all places. I didn't know what got into his head to smile at me after we hadn't seen each other for more than a month. That gay was indeed unpredictable as if he were a real woman. I sighed and just looked around the church while waiting for them to finish whatever they were discussing. As I examined the small church, I saw a statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary carrying a baby Jesus. On the foot of the statue, there

Third-Person's Point of View Everyone at the mansion was ecstatic when an unexpected visitor arrived on Saturday morning. He was carrying two large baskets containing various fruits and bottles of her mother's homemade jam. There were two boxes of cheesecake still inside his car. The servants at the Begum mansion rushed to greet him after not seeing the matchmaker in a long time. "Where are our Christmas gifts, Miss Felicity?" the servants asked in unison. "Christmas is over, girls," he told them while rolling his eyes. "You promised all of us you would give us gifts. You're unfair, Miss Felicity," Daldalita blurted out like a child. Other servants agreed with her, nodding their heads. "Yeah, I did, but Christmas is over," Felicity reasoned out. Felicity could see the protest and disappointment on their faces and he kind of enjoyed it. "There is still Valentine's Day," Daldalita hissed. "Why, do you even have a heart?" Felicity teased her. "Ouch! That's rude. Maybe I

Elyana's POV I awoke in the middle of my sleep when Felicity crossed my mind. I was certain that he was the one supporting me inside the restroom. It felt like a dream to me, but my room left a scent that I knew he owned. My head no longer ached, and my stomach didn't feel sour. It was almost ten o'clock in the morning when I checked the time on the clock, so I assumed he had already left and gone home. It stressed me out, thinking he had already left and would never come back. I couldn't understand why I was even crying about that. I hurried down the stairs to look for him. I had reached the lowest step when I realized there was a growing child inside my womb. I completely forgot. Fortunately, I did not fall or slip while in haste. I simply slowed down before anyone saw me and reported me to my parents. I went to the living room, but nobody was there. No servants were on sight for me to ask about that gay. The next place I thought of checking was the kitchen. It was nearly

Elyana's POVThat feeling of returning trauma filled my heart with so much fear that Daldalita could do what she said. It was clear to me, in my mind and heart, that of all the people close to me, Felipe, next to my parents and my son, was the person I couldn't live without.'He's only ours. For my son—mine!' My thoughts were accelerating. I was ready to hurt anyone who would try to take Felipe from us. My son needs him. He couldn't sleep without his dad at night. I need him to do that. I need him. My tears continued falling down my cheeks. I covered my face using both my hands and as I did so, I heard whispers in the background that made me feel like they were mocking me. My chest tightened as I heard their whispers. There were so many that I couldn't focus on a single noise. It was deafening, echoing inside my ears. I cried until I could no longer breathe. I felt someone's hand on my shoulder, but that stronger urge to do something to make our servant take back what she said was

Elyana's POVWe boarded the plane before nine o'clock in the evening. Mixed emotions were stirring up inside my heart. I was excited that we finally got back home and, at the same time, worried about Helen and that I couldn't get back to her before she got a chance to hold my son, just like she wished for. I wanted to fulfill that as soon as I could. I knew my parents would understand and they would help me sort everything out for Aqui to meet Helen. I was that preoccupied when I saw Felipe staring suspiciously at me. I frowned and he immediately looked away. He took his cellphone out of his pocket like nothing and started scrolling through it. I thought that was it, but it happened a few times during the flight and whenever I caught him, he would try to ignore me. I tried ignoring him as well and pretended it wasn't bothering me until I fell asleep. We arrived in the Philippines before lunch after the plane stopped over in Dubai because Dad asked the pilot to pick up a package fro

Elyana's POV"Thank you so much for coming all the way here to visit me, Ellie. I really thought we wouldn't get a chance to see each other again after all the mess that happened. Despite that, there were things for which I was thankful as well that happened. When you left, I also found the courage to end my ties with Lucas' father. It was the best decision I ever made in life in my entire existence and thanks to you," Helen told me while holding both of my hands tightly. I was touched by Helen's words. We had a long conversation, but those were the messages that my brain couldn't forget the most."Time for your medicine, Miss Helen." We got interrupted when the nurse announced this. I gave them space. I checked my time and saw that it had been more than an hour since Felipe and I arrived. I waited for Helen to finish drinking her medicine before telling her that I would be going. "It's still early. Stay here and I will ask the cook to prepare dinner for you and Felipe," she insis

  • Miss Misunderstood (English)   Chapter 94

Third-Person's POVThree knocks on the front door interrupted Lucas, who was working on his laptop in the living room. He frowned as he wondered who was outside at around two o'clock in the afternoon when he was not expecting anyone that day. It had been a month since they moved into that house and only a few trustworthy people knew that location. He concluded it was their cleaner, but she had already gone there to clean the other day. He had no choice but to check who it was because they didn't have a servant around after he sent her and the driver to get their groceries. He went to the front door. When he was a few steps away from the door, the person outside tried knocking again. Lucas opened the door and his eyes widened when he saw who was outside. A short silence went in between the two. He could not believe he would be seeing her again after visiting the Philippines a few months ago. He couldn't hide how much he was captivated by how much she had changed since then, and beca

  • Miss Misunderstood (English)   Chapter 93

Third-person's POV Elyana's parents agreed to her plan to visit Lucas' mother, Helen. The old lady had been kind to their daughter since she first stepped into Wilhem's household. They both knew how close their daughter had become to the lady, and they did not want Elyana to have any regrets about not seeing her for the last time. "I heard you're leaving." Elyana was in the nursery, busy with the book she hadn't finished yet. Her parents were both in an online meeting, which is why she was the one giving Aqui company at that time. She was so caught up in her reading that she did not notice that Felipe had already entered the room. When Elyana turned to look at him, she saw a gloomy expression on his face. She wanted to ask why, but the question he asked already had the answer. "Yes, I will tomorrow. Dad has already fixed everything; a private plane will take me there to make it hassle-free for me, so there is nothing to worry about," Elyana replied. She went back to reading aft

  • Miss Misunderstood (English)   Chapter 92

Elyana's POVOf all the people in the mansion, Dad was the one who couldn't hide his anticipation of Felicity's decision to change. He was trying to change his entire self by altering his way of talking and walking and avoiding the gestures of his hands when he spoke. He also wanted us to call him Felipe instead of Felicity since that day, which I found quite suspicious because I often caught him talking seriously to my dad in different parts of the mansion before that happened. The only problem was that I didn't get a chance to know what they had been discussing all those times. They kept choosing places where it was hard to eavesdrop. I already asked my mom if she knew anything about what they were discussing, but she told me she had no idea.My curiosity grew because of the answer I got from her. A few days before his transformation, I caught them in the garden again when I went outside the veranda after deciding to continue reading the novel I started.I changed my plans and imm

  • Miss Misunderstood (English)   Chapter 91

Elyana's POVI couldn't be deceived. I looked sharply at him again from head to toe to take one last scan. I was sure he wasn't wearing a contact lens to fool me like that."Ellie? What are you doing? Why are you looking at Felix like that?" My mother panicked right after seeing what I was doing. "Did both of you have a misunderstanding again?" Mom continued, but I didn't have a plan to answer any of them.I just stared at him. He also did the same. I knew he was the one who would eventually give in. I wouldn't let him win anyway.I started counting in my head, and when I was only halfway from reaching ten, I saw the man in front of me grin before laughing out loud. "I really can't fool you. Hmp!" I knew it! He lost it. He returned to his normal shrill and slurred-crazy voice in no time."W-wait...what's going on here?" My mother asked us in confusion."Oh, come on, Auntie! Don't be too slow," Felicity told my mom. My mother's eyes widened as she realized what was happening."Oh,

  • Miss Misunderstood (English)   Chapter 90

Elyana's POV "I was calling you. Why were you not answering? You made me so worried." I thought I was hallucinating that I was hearing Felicity's voice, but he was truly there. Felicity carried me, laid me back on the bed in a more comfortable position, tucked me in, and gave me painkillers. He was scolding me while he was doing those, but the pain I was feeling was too much and I couldn't focus on anything he was telling me aside from what he said he heard me scream; that's why he knocked. I couldn't say anything while he was firing me with words. I was too dizzy at that moment to respond to him. As I waited for the medicine to take effect, I heard Felicity cleaning the broken glass on the floor. I had no choice but to stay on the bed while hearing my son cry from the next room; however, I couldn't do anything at that moment. I waited for a few more minutes before the pain truly vanished. Aqui had already calmed down, but I was still bothered so I decided to get out of bed.

  • Miss Misunderstood (English)   Chapter 89

Elyana's POVMy day went fast, but the night seemed so long. Felicity didn't come home just like he said, but without Bakla around, the house was like a different place. It seemed I was searching for his presence and Aqui, who got used to spending the night with him, kept on waking up from time to time, crying. He might be searching for him too and even though Dad was the one hugging him to sleep already, he still wasn't satisfied.Around eleven that night, we all woke up when Aqui cried so loud. My parents were the ones who slept in the nursery and I'd pumped enough milk for him to drink the whole night. I wasn't supposed to go to the nursery to check on him because I knew my parents did know what to do, but his cries were bothersome.I rushed over to see why he was crying. My parents were attempting to put him back to sleep. Dad was the one carrying him and rocking him gently in his arms. Mom was the one singing him a song, yet my son didn't want to hush.I want to take him and try
