Settle Scores

The next morning, a light headache woke Eve up the next day. She struggled to open her eyes and when she eventually did, she closed them back due to the ray of sunlight that threatened to blind her. She felt someone hurry to the windows and drew the curtains closed before hurriedly walking back to her. She slowly opened her eyes.

“Ella?” She asked, her eyes widening in surprise. Was it a dream? She looked around her. She was in her house, Noah and her room of course but what was Ella doing with her?

“Eve, you’re finally awake.”

Ella stepped to her side with a bowl in her hand. She dropped the bowl on the bedside table and dipped a towel into it.

“What are you doing? God, my head hurts.”

“You caught a fever, girl.” Ella touched her head. “You’re burning as fuck. I’ll take care of you.” She squeezed the water out of the towel, folded it perfectly, and dabbed it on Eve’s head. After a while, she helped her sit up on the bed and poured her a glass of water.

Eve passed a grateful look,
