He needed to go see if Kimberly ate her dinner, because, when he made dinner last night and called her to come eat, she said she was going to join him later but he waited until he felt sleepy and eventually went to bed, so he needed to know if she actually had dinner.
He went into the kitchen and found it the same way he had left it last night, which meant she didn’t come down for dinner last night causing him to get worried. He turned around and headed for the bedroom. On getting there, he took a deep breath before knocking on the door but there was no response. He knocked twice and still got no response so instead of still knocking on the door, he quietly opened it, so as not to make any noise in case she was still asleep, but to his surprise, she wasn’t in the room.
