Chapter 43

This is the first time Jasmine has stepped out of the room she had occupied for who knows how many weeks. The large house with its calm white ambiance welcomed her. A spacious and bright room greeted her, with cold marble floors beneath her feet. Jasmine glanced at Seth who kept holding her waist tightly, as if not wanting to let her go even an inch away from his side.

"The house is beautiful, Seth," Jasmine said, trying to lighten the strange atmosphere with a simple compliment.

Seth smiled faintly, but his eyes remained cautious. "Thank you, Jasmine."

Jasmine felt something was wrong. "Why didn't you let me out of the room? If you had let me walk around this house, it would have surely alleviated my boredom a bit," Jasmine complained, her voice sounding faint but full of emphasis.

Seth just remained silent, his smile fading. They walked down the stairs, and Jasmine was slightly surprised to see many people dressed in black downstairs, maybe around ten people, positioned alertly.
