“So, would you mind explaining why you’re here?” My mother says, while holding his hand on the door knob, as she opens the door for me. I catched my breath for a second, my legs shaking. “Can I stay here for a while” Although it was quite the ride, I had nowhere to go. If I go to a hotel, he might find me easily so this was the only place I could go—which is my childhood house.
