Matthew
The following weeks flew in a blur. We had a series of lives in different areas, sort of like a mini tour, and we're either on the road or practicing. We barely even have enough time to rest but I didn’t mind since we loved what we were doing. It doesn’t even feel like work for me, it was our passion."Here," Cassie said, tossing us each a bottle of water. I almost didn’t catch it but thankfully I gripped the bottle just in time to avoid embarrassing myself in front of the girl I like. Landon finished his in a few gulps. His shirt was soaked so Cassie placed a towel in his back so he won't get sick. She looked like a mom tending to a child. Clark was topless (as usual) and Kasey was stretching his legs out. My hair was already damp with sweat so Cassie wiped my hair with a towel. Good thing I was sitting down because I wouldn’t know how she would reach my head if I was standing."Are you okay?" Cassie asked. She was frowning. We just fiCassie“He’ll be fine.” Adam gently said as my tears kept flowing on his white doctor’s coat. He was stroking my hair and patting my back. He’d never been this affectionate to me before. But then again, I never broke down in front of him and he must have been shocked himself.“What happened to him?” I asked wiping my tears away. Crap! I probably look like hell. I’m sure my whole face was red and my eyes are already swollen.“Over fatigue. He needs complete bed rest for a couple of days and he’ll be better.” He answered simply. Thank god it wasn’t anything serious. That was the last leg of their tour and they really went all out for their fans. I wish I’ve done something so they didn’t over exert themselves. Matthew, especially.“I can’t tell you not to worry about him but I’m telling you, your boyfriend will be just fine.” Adam said sheepishly. Since when d
Matthew"Stupid Matthew!" Clark scolded standing next to my bed. "What would we do if something happened to you?""Clark's right," Kasey added, without his usual jolly antics. "We were all very worried. We thought you won't wake up.""Ouch," he cried when Landon slapped his head."Stop talking like that," Landon scolded. "You sound like Matthew's almost dead.""Calm down," I told them quietly. The sound of their voices combined is making my head hurt. "I'm fine. Alright?""Thank goodness Cassie was there, everyone's just running around and shouting." Landon said, peeling an orange. The scent instantly filled the room. He's right, I remembered the commotion that followed right after I fell down. It was mass hysteria."She's amazing. She even knew first aid!" Landon continued.Yeah, right! He was the one who did nothing but shove his face on mine when I was hardly breathing."Well, that's Cassie for you." Clark said, just like a proud fathe
Matthew“Where’s Cassie?” I asked as Mel visited me the next day. Minus the three idiots and plus a basket load of fruits. I was hoping to talk to Cassie alone, but she’s probably having a get together with that childhood friend of hers that she’d forgotten all about me completely. I just can’t shake the bitterness from my thoughts.“She’s got work to do so she asked me to accompany you.” She replied while putting a fresh new batch of flowers in the vase. I can vaguely smell the faint scent of roses. “Don’t worry. She’ll visit you later.”I don’t know which is better. That she visits me and sees that doctor friend? Or don’t visit me so she won’t see him? I want to see her but I don’t want her to see him. If only that doctor doesn’t work here. They should have brought me to another hospital instead. Is it too late to ask for a transfer? I could pretend I’m
Cassie"Where are you?" Mel frantically asked from the other end of the line. "Hurry up, Matthew's going to be here soon."Right. Matthew finally got discharged from the hospital after a week of confinement and everyone's preparing a 'welcome back' party for him. I wasn't able to visit him frequently so I sent Mel instead. Besides, I know Adam is keeping an eye on him and he'll definitely tell me if anything happens. It was really nice of him to comfort me when I was having a breakdown. I wanted the earth to swallow me every time I remember what happened. Adam was such a nice guy not to mention it. Maybe I should give him a thank you gift."Don't worry. I'm on my way." I chuckled as I placed my phone in my pocket and went to lock the door of our shared apartment. A warm breeze blew as I quickly tread down the flight of stairs. Spring's just around the corner and the flowers will soon be in bloom.Maybe it's the good weather, or probably because Matthew's finally
Matthew"Since Cassie's late, she'll be the one to clean up all this mess." Mel said after everyone was done eating. I have to admit that I was really surprised that they prepared a party for me but I was more alarmed when I didn't find Cassie among them."Alright." Cassie just smiled in surrender. She made us all worried when she came in running late since it wasn't usual for her not to be early. She's a punctual person and we thought something happened to her when she didn't show up."Let me help you." I said as she began cleaning up the leftover food from the table. I took the paper plates and went to dispose them in the bin."Are you sure?" She asked skeptically. "You just got out of the hospital from over fatigue." Her brows were knit into a frown, but she still managed to take my breath."Well, what are all these muscles for?" I said flexing my bicep. I have to get back to the gym soon. I've been slacking off in the hospital for a week and I feel so sl
Cassie"Looks like somebody's in a good mood today." Mel commented as I entered the kitchen. I didn't even realize I was humming until she mentioned it. After last night, it felt like a something heavy has been lifted off my chest."What are you doing?" I asked her. It's no use trying to deny it, it's probably written all over my face."Duh, isn't it obvious? I'm cooking." Mel rolled her eyes at me. As if being in love suddenly made me dumb."I can see that." I stuck my tongue at her. "What are you cooking?" I asked her again."I'm making a bento." She replied, carefully slicing the egg rolls."Want me to help?" I offered. The horror in her face was hilarious."But you don't cook." She stated."I don't cook, but that doesn't mean I can't." I smirked at her. "Come on. let's make some for the guys, too.""You know what, you're right." Mel nodded. "Those guys are probably tired of instant food. They're too busy to even cook.""Okay, you
Cassie"Hello everybody!" As usual, Landon's hyperactivity started our day. "So, any plans for Matthew's birthday?""Matthew's birthday?" I asked."Yep. Today." Landon casually said."WHAT!?" I shrieked."Calm down, Cassie." Landon chuckled. "Usually we would hire strippers for his birthday but-""WHAT!?" I cried out once again, cutting him off. A strip party? Oh my freaking gosh, my innocent ears."But since we have you kids around this year, I think we're going to keep it clean." Landon finished.I let out a huge sigh.My head is seriously spinning right now. I'm seriously no good at planning parties and stuff plus I couldn't digest what Landon just divulged about the strip tease and such. I need some air."Is he coming today?" I asked."Nope." Landon answered, popping the p at the end. "Forced him to take the day off.""Good good." I said, out of my mind. The more I wouldn't be able to think if he's here."Good morn
Cassie“Attention! Attention!” Landon says, opening the doors dramatically and walking inside the room in slow motion. As if he’s a messenger sent by god to announce some huge revelation.“Cut the crap, Landon. And just tell them the good news.” Clark says beside him, although I could tell that I swear I can literally hear the excitement in his own voice.“Shut up, dude.” Landon tells Clark, lightly elbowing him on the side. “I’m trying to build the momentum here. Why don’t you just cooperate?”“Come on, Landon. Hurry up and tell them!” Kasey says, barely containing his own excitement. Whatever Landon’s about to say, it must be very important. And whatever it is, I wonder how Kasey’s able to keep his mouth shut about it. “Hurry up or I’ll tell them myself.”“Fine, fine!” Landon says, feeling the pressure from the two. Although he looked lik
Cassie"Are you okay?" I asked Matthew once we got out of the room. He's no longer as red as a tomato but he still avoids my gaze.I was just in the mood to tease him more so I kept moving towards his line of sight and he would do his best to look elsewhere aside from me. I could not help but chuckle at his childish behavior."Yeah, I'm alright." He says, but seemed to have changed his mind as I smiled at him. "No, actually I am not.""Why? What's wrong with you?" I ask him. Maybe he's really not feeling well. I tried to touch his forehead to feel his temperature but he doesn't feel hot. He took my hand from his forehead and pulled me towards him.Matthew's body is firm and sturdy. I could basically feel the muscles underneath his thin shirt. He places my hand over her heart and I could feel his heartbeat. His heart is beating so fast underneath his chest.I took a step closer towards him and I could hear him gasp as I placed my head over his chest. Wow
Cassie“Oh my god. I can’t believe I got April’s signature! And we even had a photo together! This is definitely going on my wall.” Mel says, her reaction quite over the top if I have to be honest.“Maybe you should have asked for her number too.” I joked at her, her eyes went wide as if she was both baffled and terrified of the idea.“I could never.” She says, recovering from her shock, and I couldn’t help myself but laugh at her.“Excuse me.” One of the staff came over to us with a blonde girl beside her. “She’s with April, can you lead her to where she is.”“Sure.” I tell him. “We’re on our way to her anyway.”“You look kind of familiar.” Mel muttered beside me. She was looking at her as if trying to remember where she saw her.“I’m Michelle. I’m April’s sister.” The girl says, smiling.
Matthew“So how is it recording with your husband?” I ask April after the interview. The staff were packing up the equipment and Cassie went out for a bit to take care of some stuff.“It’s fun.” April says, smiling. “He’s very supporting especially during the times that I don’t feel like doing anything at all. I would be like, I don’t want to work today and he’d push me towards the practice room and tell me to go do my vocal warm ups.”I chuckled while imagining the scene. So there were times that even the great April Hale doesn’t want to sing.“And it is fun creating the harmonies with him, you know.” April added, clearly thinking about him. Is this how people who are in love look like? “You’re giving me that look.”“What look?” I ask her, surprised by what she said.“That, she’s obviously in love, look in your face.” She
MatthewThe day finally came with our interview with April. To be honest, I feel nervous. Not because April is here but more because of Cassie.“Are you okay?” She asks when she seems me fidgeting in the corner. The staff was busy putting the camera and equipment in the interview room, and even Landon and the rest have walking to and fro. Everyone’s just coming in from every direction I already feel tired just from watching.“Yeah. I am.” I tell Cassie, giving her a small smile. She’s been so busy ever since this morning that I was surprised she even noticed me standing here. Sometimes it just seems like she doesn’t see me at all.“Are you nervous?” She asks, obviously teasing me. I can tell by the way her lips began to curve upwards on one side first before turning into a full smile. Little habits that I came to notice more as every day passes.“Of course not!” I tried to deny it, but there&r
Cassie“What time is our meeting with miss April?” I asked Mel, since I couldn’t be bothered to look at the schedule. I’m sure she’s memorized our schedule for the day. She’s not this good at memorizing stuff at school but I guess it’s really a different thing when you actually get to work.“It’s later, at three in the afternoon.” Mel says, not even needing to look at our schedule. It’s just the same when it comes to memorizing the songs, it just comes to her naturally. She’s a natural of handling of people and keeping track of things just so to make sure that every thing goes smoothly.“Cool.” I said. Well, the guys are excited to meet her but Matthew doesn’t really seemed so thrilled as they expect him to be.“Oh my gosh, we’re allowed to ask for an autograph, right?” Mel asks suddenly. I guess she only thought about it now.“I think so.”
Matthew“Oh my god, I can’t believe those three fools had the energy to tease me the whole day.” I tell Cassie when we met up after work.“Well, it was pretty fun seeing them harass you all day.” Cassie chuckles. “You should have seen the look on your face.”Cassie is a few years younger than me but she’s always been so mature that I’m pretty sure right now that she wouldn’t be jealous just hearing the other members tease me about my celebrity crush the whole day. And even if she is, she’s not the type of person to try to hide it and would most certainly try to confront me about it so that I could re assure her.“What?” She asks when she catches me just staring at her.“I was just thinking that I think you’re the type of person to push your boy friend away to some other girl if he doesn’t stay loyal to you.” I tell her. Like if my feelings for her wavered fo
Cassie“What’s the commotion all about?” I asked when I went in to the room to find three monkeys harassing Matthew to the point that his face turned beet red from all their teasing.“Cassie, you won’t believe what just happened!” Landon says, running towards me when he saw me. Kasey and Clint won’t leave Matthew alone.“Why? What happened?” I asked him. Seriously, I thought every one will get a little break just after the world tour but it seems like the company has already something lined up for them soon right after. They should give them a break from time to time. I don’t want Matthew to collapse again from fatigue and over exhaustion. Nor the other members.“We’re having a collaboration.” Landon tells me.“And?” I asked him. It’s not like it’s their first time doing a collaboration. They’ve done a lot of collaborations with tons of other artists o
Cassie"You should have told me you were coming with your boyfriend. I wouldn't have bothered you that way." A voice crept from behind me and I can't help but feel shivers down my spine."Seriously, Eric?" I asked, my eyes wide in disbelief. "Rain already came to me in America. Now, you're following me in Japan? Who's next?""Hey, it's not like I didn't give you a heads up." He said in defense. "I asked you to meet up with me so we can talk but you keep ignoring me."He's right. I sighed."You really do know how to get into his nerves do you?" Eric said, smiling sheepishly."Shut up." I snapped.I thought he would leave but Eric just stood silently behind me. This day had been too perfect I knew that one way or another, something would happen that will drag me from this fairytale back into my harsh reality. The moon up in the night sky was full. Its brilliance illuminates the waves crashing into the shore. The sea breeze blows gently from the east.
Matthew"Hey, you know, your Japanese sounds good for an English speaker." Cassie commented after I ordered some ice cream.Even though she and I started going out, things had been pretty busy lately especially because of our world tour. We barely saw each other at all. Thank god she was able to come with us. Now that the tour is finally over, we can finally go on dates like a normal couple."How can you be so fluent in Japanese, too? It's like you're not American at all." I retorted. She definitely sounded like a native speaker and to be honest, I really love her accent."Cause I'm smart." She confidently said, getting her strawberry cone while I get the vanilla. "What? No snarky remarks?""Well, it's true." I said, putting my arm around her shoulder as we exited the ice cream parlor. She used to be so distant but now it felt like she gradually let me become closer to her. "Where do you want to go?""Hmmm." She said looking up at me with the shades on
