CHAPTER 3
"LEAVE HER!" I heard a familiar voice yell, cutting through the tension like a blade. Turning back, I saw it was Dave's, his usually calm demeanor replaced by a fierce determination. I was shocked. After I had annoyed him by refusing to give him my innocence, I never expected him to step in like this. I turned to see him standing there, his brow furrowed in confusion as he confronted Natasha and her friends. "What's happening?" Dave's tone sounded casual as he looked from Natasha to me. Natasha flashed him a sweet smile, her demeanor innocent and inviting. "We were just talking, Dave," Natasha said, her voice dripping with false sincerity. "Isn't that right, Emma?" My heart sank as Natasha's words hit me like a slap in the face. Dave looked torn, unsure of what to believe. "Right," he muttered, his disappointment palpable. "Let's return to trainings." I stood there, frozen in my own tracks, as Dave and Natasha walked away, their figures fading into the distance. A heavy sigh escaped my lips as I turned to make my way back home. The weight of disappointment settled in my chest, a dull ache that seemed to grow with each step. But as I trudged along the familiar path back to the pack house, my thoughts turned to the evening ahead. Tonight was the mating event, a night filled with celebration and tradition. I knew I had to pull myself together, to put on a brave face and pretend like everything was fine. It wouldn't be easy, but I was determined to make it up to Dave, to show him that despite everything, I still cared. And this night would also confirm my fate whether I'll be redeemed as my father's daughter or rather get disowned by him and sold off to a sinister Alpha who was almost the age of my father. The thought of that made my skin crawl, a wry expression masking my face almost immediately. As I reached home, I hurried inside, the familiar warmth of the hallways in the pack house enveloping me like a comforting embrace. I made my way to my room, the events of the day flashing in my mind like a movie. But this wasn't any movie, it was real life— my real life. But I pushed the thoughts in my head aside, focusing instead on the task at hand. Getting Dave to mate with me at tonight's mating event. I needed to get ready for tonight, to find the perfect dress and do my hair just right. And as I stood in front of the mirror, preparing for the evening ahead, I couldn't help but feel a glimmer of hope stirring within me. Maybe this full moon would finally be the one, the one I've waited 3 years for. The one where I'd finally get a mate (Dave), get announced as mate, receive all the fatherly attention I can get from my dad and live a fulfilled fairytale life. But that only happened in movies. And sadly, my life isn't. *** Night soon came, the sun running off into god knows where and the full moon hanging over the clouds glowing brightly. The ethereal moonlight poured from the open heavens, seeping into my room through my windows. Everything was perfect. I was fully dressed, my hair was let out in messy curls. Inspecting myself in the mirror infront of me, I smiled brightly fiddling in my knee length purple gown. "You've got this Emma," A sudden sensation ran through me, a shiver escorting it almost immediately. I heard weird voice as I felt an oddly satisfying feeling in my veins. I turned immediately to check back at my surroundings to make sure someone wasn't in my room. "Don't be shocked Emma, I'm your spirit wolf," I heard the voice again. It was that of a female's, soft and satisfying. "Hello," I said out loud to no one other than myself. "You don't have to talk out, we can connect via mind link," I heard her voice and a smile plastered on my face. Maybe, just maybe, I would find my mate at this year's mating event. "Yes, I hope we do." I heard my wolf howl in assurance. "By the way, I'm Aurora." My smile deepened at the sound of her name. "And oh my, you are a 10 minutes away from witnessing the full moon." I ran to my heels, rushing through the hallways like a loose madman, my heels clip-clopping all over the halls. Rushing off past the staircase, I remembered father's words, my smile disappearing almost immediately. The full moon's ethereal glow lit my way as I hurried eagerly towards the festival clearing, my heart pounding in anticipation. This is another chance for me to finally find my fated mate. "You can do this, Ava" my wolf, Aurora whispered to me. I stepped into the raucous crowd, I drank in the sights and sounds - music, laughter, wolves dancing and mingling under the moon's intoxicating spell. Making Aurora stirred restlessly beneath my skin, longing to join them. I inhaled deeply, wishing to smell that special scent which would awaken my mate. But as the night wore on, no mate bond formed. My shoulders slumped in disappointment. I plastered a smile on my face, pretending not to mind as, one by one, my pack-mates found their matches, their joyful howls ringing out across the night. Why hadn't I found my mate yet? What was wrong with me? Aurora whined mournfully. "It's not fair! I just want to find our mate so we can be happy like the others!" She mourn defeated once more. I soothed her gently through our mental link. "Don't worry, Aurora. This is not the end Rora, Our destined mate is out there somewhere, I'm can feel it. Now we all have to be patient." "But everyone else has found their mate already! We're the only ones left..." Aurora's despair echoed my own. But I have to be strong and keep having faith. "Next moon we'll find them," I reassured her firmly, ignoring the doubts creeping in. "The Goddess has a plan for us. We can't lose ho-" I continue but was cut but Natasha scornful voice. "Well, if it isn't little Ava, all alone again," she interrupted making me face her, Cassia was standing tall in front of me with her signature smirk plastered on her face and flanked by her usual posse of spiteful girls. "Still no mate at almost 18? What a disgrace!" She spat. The girls tittered and laughed cruelly as Aurora growled within me. "Maybe if you weren't so pathetic, someone might actually want you," one of Cassia's friends, Kira, sneered. "Of course, who would want a mate as scrawny and worthless as Ava?" Another, Rhea, mocked. Aurora raged, snarling and snapping within my mind. "Let me at them! I'll tear those insolent fools to shreds!" I struggled to restrain my fury, taking a deep breath. "No, Aurora. They're not worth it." But on the outside I remained silent, face burning. "Nothing to say?" Cassia taunted. "Not so confident without a big strong mate here to protect you, are you?" She mocked, laughing. The girls cackled as tears pricked my eyes. Aurora whined, feeling our pain. "It's okay Rora," I uttered. "Let them laughed. Someday they all bow at us. Then they would know what they did wrong." I comforted her the our mind link. "Leave her alone!" A masculine voice thundered as the Natasha's cruel chuckles subsided immediately. I felt his scent— Dave, my boyfriend was here. I turned feeling his gentle pull as his pitch black eyes met with mine. "Thanks." I said turning at him with high hopes. Dave was my only hope, even though he wasn't my fated mate, I would do anything for him to mate me. "Ava, I have something to tell you." He said, anxiety ringing in his tone. His tone sounded skeptical whipping me into a tug of anxiety. "What is that?" I felt drawn back by his words. I could already imagine a scene of him breeding me in front of the entire pack. I could feel the anxiety pumping endlessly in my veins. "I... I have found my mate." He finally broke out, his voice tainted in pity. "I hope you find your mate by next moon." My heart started beating erratically, as I watched it all crumble before me. "Who is she?" I managed to question, my lips quivering as the word skittered out. Immediately, I heard footsteps. Tilting my heard slowly, I rose my gaze only to see Natasha standing beside Dave. I heaved, anger striking wagers in me. My three years relationship, like a mist, is vanishing right before my eyes like thin smoke. I couldn't help but hold back the tears, I wouldn't cry— no I wouldn't. Not here. Not now. "Beat it, sl*t," Natasha taunted, hanging shamelessly against Dave. With my wolf comforted, I turned and walked away head high. I retreated to a quiet corner of the clearing, trying to ignore their whispered insults. "The Moon Goddess had a plan for us too" I repeated. "We just had to be patient. Our mate was out there, and I knew it." I forced a smile, taming my heart. Time passed, and as the clearing emptied and darkness crept across the sky, my hope dwindled. The festival was ended, and I departed just as alone as I arrived. Perhaps the Goddess had abandoned me.... Abandoned us. My heart was shattered again. "No!" I slapped both hands on my cheeks and I shook off those traitorous thoughts as I slipped home quietly, not wanting any more insults. I couldn't lose faith. Next full moon, surely my mate would come. I sneaked inside the house not wanting to wake my family, my fragile optimism shattered at the look on my father's face as I entered the living room. "Back already?" My father growled, his expression thunderous. "No mate again, I assumed..." "Well I guess, I have no choice but to sell you off to Alpha cauldron." I heard him say at the thought of being sold to a sinister Alpha made my skin crawl. "No Father, please!" "GUARDS, SEIZE HER!"CHAPTER 4My heart clenched. The disgusted disappointment in his eyes told me all I needed to know. Once again, I had failed him.I looked at the floor, blinked away my tears. "No, Father." His lips curled in disgust. "Just as I thought. Useless, worthless girl!" He spat at my feet. "You're nineteen now and still unmated. An embarrassment and disgrace to this family! Not to add being an Omega!"I recoiled from his vitriol, my eyes glistening with anger. "I will try again next year father." I sighed, my word rapt and curt."Enough!" My father roared, face contorting in rage. "I have give you too many chances already. I'm not a toy that'll you play with I'm your Alpha. And I'm tired of waiting. it is due time I take matters in my hands.""Ugh?" "What do you mean? Father, no, please!""You have no choice Emma," I felt my father's words slipping through my ears. "I am going to have to give you off to Alpha cauldron!""No, father!" I yelled as I tried to take a step backwards when he ye
CHAPTER 5 "Mate?" I exclaimed, my jaw falling slightly at the shock. A twinge of fright grips me as I felt his masculine scent fill my nostrils, the rich sensual tinge in them purring aurora from her sleep. All of a sudden, I felt it. I felt the fiery mate pull to him all of a sudden, my gaze frantically sauntering off to his figure. His figure was perfect and not just that, attractive. I felt all my worries wash off immediately as his gaze met mine, his enticing blue irises catching me in its baseless abyss. I couldn't help the urge of gawking at his lips, his broad chest and every little detail in his almost perfect body. The moment intensified, a searing flow of passion in my veins as I pulled closer to him unable to control myself. Unable to control the heat of our wolves, he pulled me into a deep kiss, one that had thrown me into a whirlwind of emotions. "Umm…" I moaned, my voice barely above a whisper. I couldn't help it, the pungent need of my flesh against his, his hard
CHAPTER 6 "I am Alpha Kai of the crescent pack!" I watched from the corners of my eyes as Alpha Kai pulled out all of a sudden from behind me.The uneasy tension in the air suddenly dies down, a soft silence hanging in the air. I watched as my father's once proud expression twisted into a frown of shock and surprise. I watched amidst shock as my father halted, his expression twisting in surprise as he turned towards the voice. Alpha Kai stood at the entrance, his presence radiating authority and power. His eyes were sharp, his expression resolute. "Release her," he commanded, his voice brooking no argument. The guards hesitated, glancing at my father for direction. My father's face contorted in a mix of confusion and anger. "Who dares—" My father dragged his words, fear gleaming in my veins as I shivered in the tight grasps of the guards. He was already boiling with fury, his jaw tightly clenched as Alpha Kai confidently strides inti the light."I am Alpha Kai of the Crimson Pack,
EMMA'S POV The wind rushing in from the car's window flashes by my hair, sending strands into different directions. I didn't care, guess I was too drowned in my own pool of thoughts to do so. Tilting my head to a side, I watched keenly as Alpha Kai got into the car, his vaguely alarming presence gripping me back into reality."If you're going to be my Luna, you're gonna need more than that." His words echoed in my mind, making my heart skip a beat. I had just stood up for myself for the first time in years, and all he could say was that I needed more. Frustration and anger bubbled up inside me as I tucked my hair behind my ears. Why couldn't he see how hard that was for me?I watched the engine roar, a harsh reminder of the new world I was stepping into. I turned back one last time, taking in the hellhole I’d spent my whole life in. And now, finally, I was free. For several years, I've longed the sense of freedom within the four wall of the pack but I never got any. Fleeing was never
EMMA'S POV The silence of the night was shattered by my own heartbeat, pounding loudly in my ears. Every breath felt like a battle as I lay still, my body trembling with a mix of fear and anticipation. The weight of the decision I had made pressed down on me, but the thought of freedom, real freedom, pushed me forward. I closed my eyes and saw his face—sharp, handsome, with a cold, unyielding stare. He was powerful, egocentric, and always in control. My fingers clenched the soft fabric beneath me, grounding me to this moment. There was no turning back now. The distant chatters reeking in from the pack house's tall walls were all enough to seal my doubts. The car launched slowly, a shiver running up my spine as I held my hopes for whatever I would meet inside those walls. The soft metallic tint of lavender fills my nostrils, my head jerking to the realization. Peering through the car's glass, I could already see an entire battalion of men— pack members maybe. Instantly, I felt an
EMMA'S POV "Who is it?" I called out, my voice shaky. With my forehead powdered with sweats, I watched keenly as the door to my new room creaked open, my mind gripping for whatever waited installed for me. A masculine figure pulled in, the lightening in my room lit his face as I exhaled. It was Luke."I didn't mean to startle you, Emma," His voice croaked as he made his way closer to me with a few steps. "Luna Marissa had requested I assign your personal maid to you."My eyebrows furrowed, "Personal maid?" I questioned, shock rolling in my voice. I watched as he turned to the door, "You can come in Madeline."I watched as a feminine silhouette pulled into the room, her body draped in a uniform I guessed was worn by the maids in the pack house. She possessed green bright eyes, her blonde hair pulled up in a tight bun. She looked kind— I guess."Welcome to crimson pack Ma'am Emma, I am Madeline, your person assistant charged with the responsibility for catering for your every needs,"
EMMA'S POV"Who are you?" the lady in front of me demanded, her voice cutting through the air. She was dressed in a purple linen gown, her ears adorned with silver earrings. With her poised demeanor, I could tell she was a respected figure in the Crescent Pack. She looked young—around my age."Thief!" she suddenly yelled, her words slamming into me like a punch. My head jerked back in shock, my heart pounding as I struggled to make sense of the accusation.I stumbled backward, my heart racing as confusion and panic set in. "What? No, I'm not—"Before I could finish my sentence, her eyes narrowed, and she stepped closer, her voice rising. "Guards! Seize her!"Two guards appeared seemingly out of nowhere, their hands gripping my arms tightly. The lady's face twisted with anger and something else—maybe jealousy or spite. She looked unhinged, her eyes wild as she glared at me."Wait! There's been a mistake!" I tried to explain, but my words were drowned out by her shouting."How dare you
ALPHA KAI'S POV“Leave her alone,” I growled, my eyes burning with rage. My wolf, Sebastian, felt the fury and urgency from afar, driving me to act swiftly. Madeline’s call had alerted me to the situation, and I couldn’t afford to let Pamela take things too far.I stormed into the room, my presence commanding immediate attention. Pamela stood with the sword raised, her gaze meeting mine with defiance. “What’s the meaning of this?” I demanded.“She’s a thief,” Pamela said sharply, her voice laced with frustration. “She’s trespassing, and I was about to deal with her.”I shot Pamela a hard look. “And you think your personal issues justify this? Your grievances are irrelevant.”Pamela’s face twisted in irritation. “Oh, so now that you’ve found your precious little mate, you think you can just leave me here for this weak, scrawny girl? Typical.”Her casual, contemptuous tone was met with a low, commanding growl from me. “Enough. This discussion ends now. You will follow my orders and step
EMMA'S POV"Alpha Kai, watch out!" I yelled, my voice cutting through the noise. My heartbeat cowers, fear purring in my veins as a tug of urgency enveloped me. In that split second, I watched as Alpha Kai suddenly maneuvered, causing the impending bullet to hit the wall behind him.Kai moved with lightning speed, tackling me to the ground just as the gunshot rang out. The deafening crack echoed in my ears, and I felt the impact of Kai’s body shielding mine. We hit the ground hard, but he kept me covered, protecting me with his own body. For a moment, everything was a blur of sound and motion. The pack’s warriors sprang into action, converging on the hooded figure who had tried to assassinate our Alpha. Kai's breath was hot against my ear, his body tense and ready for anything."Are you okay?" he asked, his voice low and urgent.I nodded, my heart still racing. "Yes, I’m fine. But you...""I’m fine too," he assured me, his gaze intense. "Stay close to me."The entire hall rumbled in f
PAMELA'S POV I stood in the shadows, seething as I watched the preparations for the party. Emma, that undeserving weakling, would soon be standing where I should be. It made my blood boil. How did she, of all people, end up with Alpha Kai’s favor? She didn’t belong here. She wasn’t strong or powerful. She was just a naive girl who happened to catch his eye. How pathetic. For years, I’ve been by Kai’s side, sharing nights with him, giving him everything he needed. Now, this girl waltzes in and takes my place? It’s infuriating. She doesn’t have the strength or cunning to be his Luna. She’ll ruin everything we’ve built. I’ve worked too hard and sacrificed too much to let this weakling take what’s mine. Emma’s nothing but a hindrance, a distraction. If she thinks she can just walk in and take over, she’s delusional. She’s not fit to be the Luna of this pack, and I will make sure she knows it."Welcome to the party," I watched as Luna Marissa invited in the guests for the party. The part
AlPHA KAI'S POVWhen Emma fainted, I acted immediately, calling for help with a commanding tone that brooked no delay. My men responded swiftly, and within minutes, we had her on her way to the hospital. Pamela, of course, tried to stop me. She attempted to sway me with her usual manipulative charm, but I brushed her off coldly. Her efforts to distract me were futile.“You're not going after her, are you? She's just a girl,” Pamela had hissed, eyes flashing with a mix of anger and confusion. But I ignored her, my focus entirely on Emma. There was something about her, something that stirred a strange, unfamiliar emotion within me.Once we arrived at the hospital, I stood over Emma, looking down at her unconscious figure. She seemed so fragile, so different from the other women in my life. Pamela and my other concubines had never elicited such feelings from me. They were convenient distractions, nothing more. But Emma… she was like a little lamb, helpless and pure. The sight of her lyin
EMMA'S POV I sat still as Pamela expertly worked on my hair, her hands moving with practiced ease. I tried to ignore the faint animosity in her touch, focusing instead on the reflection staring back at me in the mirror. My hair, usually a tangled mess, was now a cascade of smooth waves. I couldn’t help but smile, momentarily forgetting the tension that seemed to follow me everywhere in this pack.Just then, the doorbell rang, a sharp sound cutting through the quiet room. Pamela paused, her fingers still woven into my hair, as we both turned towards the door. It creaked open, and a man stepped inside. He didn't look like one of the pack workers—no uniform, no familiar face.My eyes shifted back to the mirror, catching my own gaze. I looked different, almost like someone else entirely. Maybe it was the hair, or perhaps it was the way Pamela’s eyes narrowed slightly at the stranger, a flicker of annoyance crossing her face."Excuse me, who are you?" Madeline muttered, her tone edging
ALPHA KIA'S POVTick. Tock. The sound of my wristwatch's constant clicking fills my ears as I braced the thin silence of my chambers. I had requested for Carl to block everyone from coming in, the ministers, Luke, and most importantly, Pamela. After the night I spent with Emma, I had left her room and was on my way back to my suite when I ran into the figure of Pamela. "You were with her right?" I could vividly remember her saying."What does that scrawny girl has that I don't? Come on, you know I am far better than her." She rambled and I had shut her up leaving her grumbles behind as I made my way to my suite.Pamela had always been a fleeting distraction—a fiery, intense presence that heated the nights but left no lasting mark. Our shared moments were nothing more than a way to pass time, to indulge in the physical pleasures of our connection. I never allowed myself to be fooled into thinking there was more to it. She was an easy escape, a way to satisfy cravings without any emotio

The world, as I could recall, stood still as my fixated gaze held in his features. All I could see now was Alpha Kai's silhouette draped in the moonlight, his perfectly outlined shoulders edging off an air of intrigue. I tilted my head slightly as I felt his heated gaze raking over me, sensations sprouting from all the corners of my body. The warm breeze carried the scent of his fragrance, my nostrils flaring up as his intriguing smell filled my insides. He smelt, woody, attractive, dangerously seductive. My nipples throbbed as the mate pull grew stronger causing my to let out a silent gasp. His words somehow seemed to slur into the wind as I lost all sense of hearing just by staring at his handsome face.I watched his lips pull apartment lightly, but this time, my ears took note of every word he said. "This has to end," He beamed, my jaw dropping as shock reeled into my bloodstream."Alpha..." After everything we’ve shared, all the nights and whispered secrets, did none of it matter?Running my hand through my hair, I felt my frustration grow. This Emma—his so-called mate—had just arrived, and already she was causing trouble. "Witch," I muttered under my breath. "She’s nothing but a weak, scrawny witch."The thought of Emma replacing me, of Alpha Kai actually caring for so
