I didn’t know what to do as I stood helplessly next to Damon while gripping the chair where Davien sat right in front of his arrays of computers. I was already panicking, my heart beating so fast and sweating profusely with anxiety, but I had to appear calm to absorb what Davien was doing on his computer, locating Nancy’s phone or her car.

A huge hand suddenly spreads on my back, startling me a little, but then I relax when Damon leans over and swears. “We’ll be going to find her, Cara.”

It had been an hour since her mother called me, and right after Damon found me, he brought me to Davien’s lair, where we found him deep into his computers.
