Chapter Five

Kai

Well the day is finally here, the day I leave for the summit with Sam and Hayden, Hayden being our compromise, having our best and strongest warrior will give my mom a peace of mind, if that's what it'd take to get me across the world then fine by me, Malina not so much because her mate would be away from her for Six months on a straight so her sexual escapades around the pack will be put to a halt until further notice, you'd not believe the amount of night patrol warriors, myself included have caught them in different places fkin like if they don't have a quarters to themselves to do that, her butt and his di*k is national news around here ughh.

I'm sure a lot of members are glad for the break sheesh (( alright kiddos, you both got everything you need right? )) {{ yes mom, everything we need and you wanted us to have, ouch }} (( don't give me cheeky talk Kai, you guys look out for each other and take care of yourselves, the three of you have your vial of serums? )) ** yes ** we all answer together (( okay, off you go )).

{{ Not even a goodbye or a hug dad? }} << get your asses off my pack land now, see you when I see you >> wow, the love is so strong, I turn rolling my eyes after watching him grab my mom and stroll off without even looking back, we hop into the jeep and drive off to the airport, mom loaned us her jet so we could get there early and get good rooms, gotta love her.

We board the jet and take our seats after putting our carry-on away. The Air Hostess comes to offer us drinks and light finger foods, from her smell we can tell that she's human, she's not bad looking with just the right amount of makeup and not too much perfume to suffocate me, she comes and leans in way too close for my comfort putting our food on our trays, putting her clevage on full display, Sam is as shameless as ever taking in an eyefull while I turn looking at him { stop it } [ hey, even if I'm waiting on my mate doesn't mean I'd pass up on a free peep show bro, not happening ] { you're something else you that right? } [ mhhmmm now stop you're distracting me ] he cut the link off but she's already gone over to Hayden who is looking right through her with his face of stone.

After eating I put my Beats headphone on make myself comfortable in the back of the jet to try and get some shut eye, this flight is about Sixteen hours total with stops to refuel along the way, My My My by Johnny Gill lulls me off to sleep, what can  say? I inherited my mothers taste in music, the good soulful stuff.

I'm shaken away after Goddess knows how long by Sam {{ what's the matter Sam? }} [[ we're almost there ]] {{ already? }} [[ haha wait till I show you all the great shots I got of you sleeping plus the videos of you snoring your a** off ]] {{ I do not snore! }} [[ uh huh sure ]] I get up and stretch, gosh that feels good whoo!

I walk back to my original seat and plop down, I rummage through my bag for a pack of those Mint flavored Skittles my mom loves and buys in abundance, I must admist they're quite good and a pack of Ping Pong chocolate covered peanuts, also from her stash of goodies, she has so much I'm positive she wouldn't miss a few.

I peer out of the window looking at the scenery below as we begin making our descend into the airport, there's quite a lot of snow which is surprising for this time of year which also means I'd need to change my outfit but then again I do have werewolf heat so meh.

Once we tack on the airstrip we make our way down from the jet [[ excuse me Al- I mean Mr. Kai, the Lu- I mean your mother asked me to give this to you after you left the jet ]] I turn and look at the box in the pilots' hand, I lean a bit closer and take a sniff and catch the lingering scent of my mom before taking it << thank you >> [[ you're welcome sir, she also said open it when you're alone ]] << got it thanks >>

There are reps from the committee waiting to pick us up in jeeps, we greet them and hop into the vehicles and head off, it's slightly chilly but I still roll my window down to inhale the air and take in the scenery as we drive along, there's so much snow but the overall view is beautiful, I turn abruptly and peer out of the window when the very faint scent of Coconuts and Jasmine tickled my nostrils which got my wolf Daemus at attention.

Perhaps it's a flower garden of some sort near by, I brush it off and fish my phone out of my pocket and begin searching through my social media accounts and checking messages as well as emails.

The jeep slows to a stop for a while, the driver rolled his window down and spoke to the guard at the gate who peered in and looked at us then down at his tablet and nodded, the driver rolled his window back up and then proceeded on through.

I can see the place is very heavily guarded with my wolf vision seeing very easily the amount of guard warriors hidden in the surrounding tree lines and tree tops, well I suppose it's normal seeing as they are housing the future leaders of hundreds of packs from around the world, certainly can't afford any problems.

Finally we stop at a very large and very tall building, the driver hops out and opens the door for us, I get out and take a much needed stretch before walking to the back of the jeep to collect my luggage, Mom always says "your baggage is your own weight to bare no one else but you is going to use it so you and only you to tote it" so I've grown with that mindset and always carry my own stuff.

Hayden, Sam and I follow another gentleman through the large and lavish building to find our quarters, there's hardly anyone here right now, the guy whose name is Tim says that's due to us being very early.

Tim ( Here you are gentlemen, these are your rooms, you may choose the room that suits you best )

Kai < We get to choose our own rooms? how come? I thought it was more of a first come, first served kind of thing, no? >

Tim ( Generally yes Sir it is, but in this case the entire floor was reserved for your arrival as per our higher ups, we were given strict instructions that no one but you are to be here )

Okay, I'm begining to feel very uncomfortable and very suspicious.

Kai < Uhm, how long ago was this reservation made? >

Tim ( About four months ago Sir, where you unaware of this fact? )

Kai < Yes, is it possible to tell us who made the reservation was it Alpha Kavi Sloan? but that still doesn't make any sense because my coming wasn't decided until quite recently so I can't help but be suspicious and cautious at the same time >

He pulled out his mobile phone and began scrolling through, none of us moved an inch and just waited for him to be done with whatever it is he's looking for.

Tim ( Ah! found it, it was a Ms. Jewel Stuart, does that name ring a bell to you? if not then we can make other arrangements as it's still very early. )

Hayden, Sam and I exchanged surprised expressions before I spoke < Uhm, yes Jewel is my mom but it being her makes it even weirder, I'll sort it out Tim, thank you and sorry for the trouble >

Tim ( It's no trouble at all Kai, please excuse me )

Sam # Can we just take a minute to process this please, I mean the Luna reserved us an entire floor four months ago and has been trying to keep you at home and arguing with the Alpha for three months? make it make sense please #

Hayden { Given the Luna's personality and knowing the way she thinks, this does not surprise me one bit, so can I choose a room now please, I need a shower and some sleep }

Sam # Hang on, whadya mean you're not surprised Hay? #

Hayden { Use your brain Sam, the Luna obviously would'nt want Kai to miss out on such a fantastic occassion as this to form new alliances and reconfirm the ones that are already standing as well as receive training from the best of the best in were-dom from all corners of the world, so she made the reservations for us but still put up a front probably to test you to see if you'd somehow get a way to convince her you're ready for the world even when sh*ts hard, you know? she was testing you! so how did you get her to send you? }

Kai < I sat on the sidelines and let my dad do the convincing for me > wow, I did not see that coming at all, I mean, I genuinely thought she did not want me to come, so I guess I failed my first test of life.

Hayden { Wow Kai, well then you failed, hmmm I suppose that's why she was extremely hard on you for so long, she wanted you to stop relying on your father and use your own strenght and ways to convince her so she could send you off without worries, but you didn't so now you're out here in the world far away from them and you're basically on your own, because unless your life is in danger or you're being seriously threatened by someone I'm basically useless to you, I got the room by the stairs for obvious reasons }

Sam doesn't seem to know what to do with himself of where to look right now due to what Hayden said and I officially feel like sh*t and just wanna shower and lay down now, < later Sam, gonna grab some shut eye > # okay man later, I'll be here on the left # < cool >.

I push open the door behind me and stood in the doorway scanning the room, I walked in leaving the door open and searched the room, I checked the closet which is massive, the bathroom which is also massive, under the bed and the balcony, once I was satisfied that the room was clear I closed the door and stripped down for a shower, but some how the bath tub was calling my name, I filled it up with warm water and soap then laid down inside and feel my body relax slowly.

After my bath I dry up and brush my teeth before hauling on some briefs and a sweat pants, I peel the duvet back and gave it a shake then also checked under the pillows before sliding into bed, that bath made me incredibly drowsy, I'm pretty sure it's late night for my mom and dad so I'd give them a call later on, I'll also have to adjust my body to the timezone difference or I'd really be in trouble, my eyes begin to droop and in no time I drift off.

Elsewhere

[ Raven, how many times have I told you to stop venturing out into world like that, it's dangerous! why won't you listen to me? ]

{ Father, it's been so many years since that incident occured, we don't even know if the stupid hunters are still in existance }

{ Which is why we need to venture out! come on Father, I'm Twenty-One years old, I'm not a little pup that needs protecting, I can look after my self, I've been doing that just fine all this time, I also have a mate out there who I'd probably never meet because you want to keep me imprisoned here! }

[ You can have a chosen mate Raven, if it's a mate you're so worried about I can arrange a selection of the best mates for you right here ]

{ Are you out of your mind? are you hearing what you're saying right now father? you want me to turn my back on the mate the Moon Goddess chose for me to go with the one you chose for me? NO! over my dead body and if you try to force me to do it, you'd regret it! }

{ Respect is a two-way street "leader" if you want my respect, you have to also respect me! }

I watched as my not so little girl stormed out of my Cabana and slammed my door shut, my mate came over and hugged me ( why do you keep provoking our daughter so my love? ) [ I just want to keep her safe, that's all, why can't she see that? ] ( because she wants to live, we all have gone from living in this tribe to just simply existing and for the younger ones that just won't ever be enough, we've already lived through our youth love, it's now their turn and I also would never allow her to take a chosen mate, it is a sin against Selene and you know it, their union would not be blessed or fruitful! )[ sigh, I know, I only said so in the heat of the moment love, that's all ]

[ I wonder if she knows how much you soften me up on her behalf every time ]

( That's because she's right every time plus she thinks I'm soft and only do as you say, I heard her once telling her friend that I seem to only be a trophy by your side cause all I do is look pretty and say nothing )

[ What? and what did you say to her? ]

( Nothing dear, you and I are an item on the same team, we should not show our differences in the presence of others, not even our daughter, we deal with it with each other behind closed doors as we're doing right now, so it's fine with me if she sees me that way. )
