“You haven’t said anything in a while. Are you sick?”

When Jasper touched my face and neck, I was stunned. Auntie and Mom do that when I’m not in the mood to do anything. It confuses me why and how they can tell if someone has a fever by touching their face or neck.

“Oh my gosh, I’m not sick,” I said.

At that moment, Jasper pulled over to the side of the road. He stated he was hungry, so we had to eat. I took the cup with the food from Jasper. It was mixed with a sauce that was both sweet and hot.

“However, you haven’t been feeling inclined lately. You probably don’t want to be with me.” Jasper said.

“I have something on my mind. I want you to be with me." After saying it, I realized what I had done, and my blood rushed to my head. I could feel my face getting hot. It looked like Jasper was smiling big as he looked at me.

“Haist, don’t stare. I’m not comfy,” I say.

Despite not saying anything, I could still feel Jasper’s eyes.

“Don’t stare,” I told him. I pinched Jasper on the side

DAMON“Good night, mom.”As I rubbed her foot, she fell asleep, so I took her to her room. And even though she couldn’t hear me anymore, I said that and kissed her on the cheek. After that, I left the room. When I closed the door, I took a deep breath.I looked at Mom’s room door for a while. “Mom, is there something you’re not telling me that makes it hard for you to talk about them?”I stood in front of my mom’s bedroom door for a long time, but I don’t remember how long. Getting ready to leave, I went to the living room to get some wine and pour it into a glass. After that, I went to my room. From the balcony of my room, I could see the whole city. It looked like there were stars in the sky in the lights from the poles, cars, homes, and businesses.Mama put up a house up high. Also, it takes about 45 minutes to get to the city from here. Mama liked being close to nature and away from the city.I thought about Ady all of a sudden. I could have gone to her room, but I chose to stay aw

DAMON “Okay, I’ll go with you.” When Ady said that, I looked at her. I was sure she would disagree. I know what she went through there. “Why do you look at me that way? Have you thought about it again?” Ady asked me when she saw that I was looking at her. I said, “Of course not. Being with you is better because you know that place. It won’t take long for me to check.” Ady nodded. She didn’t ask me anything, which I thought she would. She did nothing during the whole class period. When class was over and noon came around, I quickly asked Ady to join me in the restaurant. She smiled at me and said, “Okay.” As soon as we got up, we went straight to the door. But Elsa went ahead with her new friends, our students. She hit Ady on purpose. I don’t know. If I hadn’t pulled Ady right away, her body would have hit the doorjamb. “Elsa, could you be careful? Other people are leaving too.” We turned around when one of our female friends spoke, but Ady crashed into the doorjamb when I tri

ADY “You’re watching scary movies, right?” When Jasper said that out of the blue, I looked at him. I didn’t know what movie he had bought or what we were going to see, so when he told me it was a scary movie, I was shocked. “What?” Jasper smiled when he saw how I felt. “My body is free if you are scared. I’ll let you hug me.” “Hey, I’m going.” He was about to let go of my hand when I stood up. Both the heat from his hand and the wind from the air conditioner gave me chills. “I was just kidding,” Jasper said. I sat down again after looking at him. “The movie is about to start. Let’s have fun, all right?” I just sat down and didn’t say anything. *** Jasper picks a scary love story. I don’t know what movie we watched because he picked it. I could feel Jasper hug me. My hand was in one of his hands. I didn’t even say no because Jasper was calm and didn’t seem to be up to any mischief. The place where we were sitting was cold because it was near the air conditioner. Jasper’s soft

ADY 'H-he's handsome.' I couldn't take my eyes off Jasper as I descended the stairs. He was standing near the kitchen while talking to Grandma. I almost didn't recognize him. He wore a striped blue polo shirt that was slightly rolled up to the elbow, royal blue shorts, and white shoes. His muscular chest also shows. It looks like he just took a bath because his hair is still well-combed. It surprised me when Jasper walked up to me with a grin from ear to ear and put one hand on my chin. I frowned. He smiled and said, "You're drooling, my love." "Haist." I drove his hand away from me. He just laughed about what I did. "I like your legs a lot, my love. May I touch them?" Jasper said, and he quickly moved his hand. I hurried off, and he laughed again. "You pervert." I scoff at him. "Uh, I want to touch. It might be a fake." "Fake your foot. My legs are not fake." "Really? There is only one way to prove it; let me touch it..." "Grannie, look at Jasper. He's acting like a pervert

ADY "We're here." I looked at Damon when I heard what he said. Jasper and I were talking and didn't realize we had gotten there. I peered through the window. It has been a while. The last thing I remember about this place is the accident. Other than that, I don't know anything else. We walked for a few more minutes until we reached the bridge. When Damon's car crossed the long bridge, I couldn't breathe. My hands got cold, and my breathing got harder. I had a flashback to the accident. *** I was surprised when Dad decided to leave our house. Mom and I watched as he put our things in the compartment of the car. "Hon, are you drunk?" Mom asked. "What're you doing?" Dad moved closer to Mom, grabbed her arm, and touched her cheek. "We have to leave now. They might catch up to us." Dad is freaking out, and his eyes move around like he is scared of something. Even though I was only 14, my mind was already more mature because that's how my mom and grandmother raised me. My social lif

  • Midnight Howling   Chapter 41: The Old House

ADY "My house is near, and we can stay there for a while." I'm not sure why I said it. The truth is that I had no plans to go back to our house, but I opened my mouth and offered it anyway. It may have rained on purpose today, so we couldn't return to the city. All of this happens because fate makes way for it. But am I ready to confront the past and hold the offender accountable? "Are you okay with going to your old home?" Jasper asked me. I looked at him and saw that he was already dressed. He was worriedly looking at me. I also told him about what we had gone through before, so my grandmother and I left this place. "Let's just find you a place to stay if you're uncomfortable," said Damon. "I'm fine, so don't worry. However, we haven't lived there for a while, so there may be no power, water, or cooking." I said. Damon looked at Jasper. "Don't worry about that. I'll buy everything we'll need." Damon took the umbrella from the cabinet on the dashboard and got out of the car. W

  • Midnight Howling   Chapter 42: The Memory

Ady's POV "Do it later. Let's eat. It seems like it will rain all night." I turned to the window when I heard thunder and lightning outside. Jasper came up to me right away and took my hand. "Let's go, my loves," Jasper whispered to me. I nodded a little, and then Jasper pulled my hand. When we left the room, the candle lights in the kitchen went out. "Oh crap, the candle flame went out." Jasper turned toward me. When I saw Damon's reflection in the mirror attached to the wall near the window, my eyes grew big. His eyes shine with a beautiful red light. I cannot help but be amazed. It was the first time I'd seen eyes that color. 'Wait, is this my first time?' I thought. I was strangely nervous, so I took a deep breath. And before those eyes ultimately drew me in, I immediately turned away. "Just a moment, my love." Jasper took his phone out of his pocket and turned on its flashlight. "Come on, take it easy; you might trip." As I went down the stairs, Jasper was looking at my f

  • Midnight Howling   Chapter 43: The Intruder of the Old House

Jasper’s POV “Jasper.” Damon’s shocked reaction to my touch on his shoulder. “I thought you were sleeping?” “Well, I am not,” I said. “Where are you going so late at night? Are you planning to leave us here?” He smiled, walked straight to the kitchen, lit the candle, and filled the bottle with the 7-liter gallon of distilled water. I turned around at the door and frowned as I walked to the window. I opened the curtain a little and peeped out. The man stood outside the house looking at the car. Even though I saw the man, I said nothing to Damon. Unless he hurts us, I will do nothing. I left the window and went to Damon. I got the distilled gallon and put water into my bottle. “Why do you get up early?” I asked. “Because I’m thirsty.” I smirked. “Thirsty? Or had a nightmare?” I could see him frowning even though it was dark. “You were whining earlier, so I woke up,” I said. “Sorry if I woke you up,” he said. We heard glass breaking, then a scream from above. “Ahhh!” Damon and

Ady's POV I got a tight hug from my grandmother after I got my medal a cum laude and graduated from the architecture course. A lot happened, and everything was memorable. I thought I wouldn't be able to graduate yet, but here I am today, wearing a cap and gown. "Congratulations!" Damon gave me a hug when he saw me. He also wore his graduation gown and waved his diploma and medal at me. Both Ranzel and Zek came up to me. Ranzel hugged me while Zek gave me a flower. His father's old pack became part of Damon's pack. They all accept Damon as their leader. "My loves!" When he saw me, Jasper smiled widely. He brought me flowers and chocolates as a gift. He also gave me a big hug. Jasper's university graduation was last week, so he graduated before Damon, and I did. As soon as Jasper let go of me, Mama Minerva hugged me. I call her mom because that's what she wants me to do. Damon and Mama Minerva are still together, and Uncle Aman and Jasper are together. Jasper put his hand around my

Ady's POV My heart was pounding hard, and I was sure this wolf would find me no matter what I did to hide. It attacked several things in the house to catch me, but I was able to get away, so its growl got louder. I hid behind the ample cabinet and writhed in agony from a leg injury. I also saw the blood on the plant that Jasper put there. I put my hand over my mouth so I wouldn't scream or let out a weak moan that the wolf might hear. As the rustling got closer, it made me even more nervous. My tears kept coming out of fear, too. "Ahhh!" When I heard the voice, my eyes grew wide. I was afraid, but I looked in to see what was happening. "Ady, are you okay?" It was Damon's mother speaking. I saw her standing there with blood on her torn clothes and wounds on her forehead, thigh, and arm. "Y-yes," I said in response to his question. "Stay exactly where you are," Minerva said. Then it suddenly turned into a wolf. She has gray fur and is probably tiny compared to the rest of the pac

Ady's POV I woke up feeling like a thick blanket wrapped around me. That warm, hard stuff felt so good on the skin. Later, it started to move, so I opened my eyes. Even though my vision was blurry, I knew who the man was who hugged me. "J-jasper?" I said weakly. "My loves," Jasper said. His face, which had been blank, suddenly lit up, and he seemed to be thinking deeply. "How're you feeling?" I smiled. "I'm fine." Jasper turned his head away from me and sniffed. "I am sorry you got hurt. I didn't keep my promise to protect you." I lifted my hand and put it on his cheek. "That is not true." "What I'm stating is true because you wouldn't have done this if..." I didn't let Jasper finish his sentence. Instead, I grabbed his neck and pulled him closer to me until our lips touched. It was just a nibbling kiss, but for me, it said a million things that I wanted him to feel. "What's that for?" "For keeping me alive." I smiled at him, and he smiled back. "Jasper!" Jasper and I bot

Jasper's POV "W-what? We're not cousins; we're twins." The response surprised me. "Dad, you're just kidding, right?" Dad didn't say anything and just kept looking at me. I don't know what I will think or feel right now. I smirked. "This looks like something I've seen in a movie. Dad, if you're serious, tell me, son." "I am telling the truth. Jasper, this is not a movie," said dad. "My best friend is Soledad, and my girlfriend is Minerva. Even though we've been together long, she wasn't my imprint. Iago imprinted her. When she found out, she told me right away, and because it was fate, she said there was nothing we could do. I pursued her because she was planning to kill herself. She didn't like Iago, and there were only two ways to eliminate the imprint. Either one of them or both of them died. And to save her from such a sin, I went after her and did everything I could to get her to accept Iago, even though it hurt me a lot. Minerva agreed, but we had promised that we would be each

  • Midnight Howling   Chapter 87: The Alpha: Armando

Ady's POV "D-damon?" When I saw Damon's condition, it made me cry. He's staring at me, but I can only hear grunts because he's a wolf. If Damon is the white wolf before me, Jasper is the white wolf who attacked the black wolf. I was seated next to Damon. "Ahhhh," I exclaimed, trying to sit up straight. I turned to Damon and smiled a little. "I'm not going to die. The wolf bit me and almost crushed my bones. I escaped the wolf's bane." My breathing got deeper. I grabbed just above my wound and bit my lip so hard that it almost bled because I bit down hard on it. It hurt like something was moving inside my wound, and I felt very hot inside, like I had a fever. Because of the latter's canine, I had to gasp to view my wound. Later, the white wolf moved closer to me. He got up weakly and came to me. It was staring at me, so I stroked its head. Its old wounds are healing, and it is a mystery to me. "Y-you're healing..." I whispered. I'm trying to change the way I talk so Damon doesn't

  • Midnight Howling   Chapter 86: The Alpha: Iago

Damon's POV "Hello, son. You make it." I didn't think that my dad would be the first person I saw when I got to the top of the mountain. The air is cold, and fog covers the entire area. "D-dad." Dad chuckled. "Hmm, you don't seem happy. Long time no see." "As far as I can tell, you're not glad to see me. It would be pointless if I hugged you." Dad laughed. Because of wolfsbanes between us, he halted a few meters away. It was like a garden of wolfsbane plants. "How does it feel? Be a Lycan? To be the strongest of all?" he asked. "Did you feel the craving for blood and power?" "Why would you ask? Are you curious to know if we feel the same way?" "No. We'll never feel the same way again. You are different." "Yes, you are right; I am different. Both of us are different." I said. The wind started blowing again, and the smell of wolfsbane drifted through the air. I felt something strange inside my body. I can't explain why. But it's like hot water that starts to boil inside of me.

  • Midnight Howling   Chapter 85: The Meet Up: Iago and Damon

Jasper’s POV "Mom, do you know anything?" We were talking in the kitchen while Dad sent everyone out. Ady, Damon, my dad, and my mom stayed with me. Their expressions were serious, and I got the feeling that no one wanted to answer my questions. I could feel the tension in them, and it looked like Ady and I were the only ones who didn’t know what was happening. "Ady should not be here," Mom said. "Why? She’s my girlfriend, so she’s part of the family," I said. "She’s your imprint?" There was shock at Damon’s question. He glanced at Ady. "Yep, she is." Damon smiled. "I’m relieved." I scowled at what Damon said, but I didn’t pay attention. I looked at mom and dad as if they were talking to each other with their eyes. "You aren’t telling me something. Damon knows something that I don’t. Why are you doing those things? Are you also keeping secrets from me?" I asked. "What’re you talking about, Jasper?" dad asked. "You have no idea, dad?" Dad stared at Mom for a second before tu

Damon's POV "What?" Jasper glanced at me, then at his mother, and then at me again. "I think they were using blackmail," Jasper said. "Yeah, Mama won't go with them because she'll die before that happens," I said. "I must go." "Where're you going?" Jasper's mom asked. "I'll find mom." "You're alone," it asked. "Wait until Aman comes to save your mother." I frowned when I heard Jasper's father's name for the first time. Aman? Is that his name? "There is no need. I'm not part of your pack; you don't have to help them." "But you helped Granny and Ady." Jasper's mom said. "Because they were the reason then, Mama. They were the reason Ady's parents died; they saved them. Now, Ady's grandmother, and she almost died because of them, and because he was a..." "Jasper, if they were the reason, Minerva didn't force them, I'm sure." Jasper's mom said. When she mentioned Mama, she seemed to know her too. "I need you to be considerate, Jasper. Damon's POV "What? Blood Moon Twins legend?" Jasper asked. "Well, that's a new one on me. I don't know anything about that story. So there is a legend, and only your mother knows?" I nodded. "It was just a story. I didn't believe it either at the time, but one of the descriptions in the story shows me that the myth is true. I was born a lycan, and it's possible that Jacob was one, too. Like in the story, we were born twins under the blood moon." "Perhaps it's just a coincidence," Jasper said. "Why did his father take Jacob? You said it had only been a few hours since you were born, so Jacob still needs your mother's milk. I'm just curious." "I also have no idea why he took Jacob or how he knew that Jacob was his son." "You mean your mom's ex could have taken the wrong baby? I mean, you're possibly his child and not Jacob's." I didn't speak. I've been thinking about that a lot. Mom said the DNA test showed that my father and I were different, but Armando took Jacob, and I have no
