Coming to I feel my head pounding and try to rub the sleep from my eyes but I'm restrained.
This is not my bed. The sheets are white satin covered by a large grey-blue quilt with a navy blue down comforter that reminded me of the night sky. The entire room is a mix of dark leather seating, mahogany wood furniture, and was made of stone. No windows to let natural light in and at least 4 doors, one must lead to the outside world. On the wall across from the king sized bed is a wall of books stacked sky high, like I was in the Beasts library from Beauty and the beast. He also had a built-in fire place which is lit with stacks of wood along the wall attached to that one. It could use some brightening up, but overall it's comfortable. He had standing lamps around the room, Edison bulb lighting hanging from the ceiling and white candles galore. It's a verHe combs his thick wavy dark brown hair with his hand and let’s put a loud sigh. I can feel before I see his eyes glaze over as he stares out. This can't be good. "So why am I here?" He sighs at my question. "We've established I'm not dreaming and my dead mom is somehow part of it." "She's not dead." "What?" I could barely breathe. "I w-went to her funeral. My step-dad and I watched her lowered into the ground...but-but...How?" I could barely get the question out. I can't even fathom it. "She's alive. Trust me. And remember Leonard?" "He's alive too?!" I perked up. "No, but thanks for the laugh love." He turned toward me and actually was laughing. How dare he?! "I can make people bend to my will, see what I want them to see, and other fun tricks."
"And we aren't allowed to fuck her? She's bloody getting herself off in the shower." I turned around to find two men looking at me. Oisin and the person I assumed was his brother. His brother had dark golden-brown eyes that reminded me of scotch. I didn't know brown eyes could be so intense. He was a bit shorter than his brother and had a different hair style but both had short dark brown hair and fair skin. Although he was going to kill me, his presence or aura didn't make me feel as on edge as Oisin did. Maybe it's because he just watched me get myself off in his brothers shower. "Don't you dare." Oisin held his brothers' arm who was yanking off his shirt. "We promised her mum and the bloody king of the faeries for Christ sake." He growled. "She wasn't a bloody bombshell then, she was a little girl. Too young for even my liking." He winked at me. I just stood in shock. My
Oisin’s POV I hear a muffled cry for help and run into Fiona's room, breaking her door down. To be honest I've been staying close by knowing it was only a matter of time before my brother tried to take Evelyn for himself. Fuck Fuck Fuck Fuck Fuck Fuck Fuck Fuck I watch in horror as he takes her to the end of the bed, still pulling her hair, but she's not crying. Is she in shock? All cried out? Or is she into this? Faeries are highly sexual by nature, but she's still half human. A human that has been through sexual assault before. She didn't scream out because she liked it, she screamed for help. What do I do? Everything is happening so fast. My mind is trying to sort through thoughts from long ago in double time. I realize I gave up my right as ki
"Well, well, well. Brava! Easiest and most fun way to the top. Have your snatch, snatched by a royal who can make you a legal immortal being. Was this your idea or his?" Fiona was by my side in seconds. "Now we need to get you a bath, Liam? Would you draw a bath for our guest here?" Looking over her shoulder at him. "As you wish my love." He smiled and gave me a nod then disappeared into the bathroom. Fiona had me in her walk-in closet going on and on about something, hopefully not important, because I needed to take this in. A walk-in closet that feels like a store. It has all the latest technology and organization for her heels to her jewelry. When she was disguised as Liv she did mention that I could basically live in her closet and she was right. No dungeon or edge of a bed for me! I held tight to the blanket while I walked along, touching all the fabrics. Long dresses, ballgowns, old gown
I couldn't believe how large their home was, half underground to keep out the light and above looked like an old estate owned by some Duke or Earl. I could barely walk in my heels, so Fiona carried me until we were above ground. Everything went by so quickly I didn't get to take it all in, but now that I knew there was a lot more to this place I felt the urge to explore! The evening was chilly and damp, the moon almost full and could be seen clearly through the open French doors. Everyone looked like they were normal humans but there were so many of them. "Is this a dinner party or a party party?" "It's a ball actually. Dinner will be served there." "But you don't eat..." "Shush! Just have fun!" She pulled onto my arm holding me tight to her. "We can eat human food, we can't live off of it and we certainly don't prefer it.
"No! Absolutely not. Only drinks from out suite that Liam makes." Fiona took the glass of champagne I finally found and downed it. "I'm sorry Lady Fiona, I didn't know." Jennifer looked scared and stepped back from the table looking between Fiona and Oisin. "Yet you know all about her..." Fiona looked at Oisin and put her hand up to stop before he said the wrong the thing. "Master Oisin, please." Jennifer couldn't even look at him. "Why don't you find Rian and make sure that he has someone to distract him from declaring war during this amicable event." "But - But...I thought I was your date Oisin?" "Jennifer, you belong to King Rian. I suggest you find my brother before he finds you." She was owned by Rian? Why were they being so mean to someone who has seemed nothing but nice.&nbs
Last night was amazing with the werewolves! I learned that the average pack gained about 2 werewolves per event, which sounds small but they are an endangered species. But the ball was an overall success, with Alphas added to their packs by over the average and a handful of true mates were united. The howling was almost deafening. I couldn’t believe how emotional I had gotten. The sadness of being alone, the joy of finding a mate or a pack to be your family or both; no wonder they howled. Apparently the last time this event was held here almost a decade ago, most wolves were solely looking for their mates. Alpha's that had mated with their Luna's hadn't bothered to show up for two reasons: 1. Thought it was a trap because who trusts vampires... 2. They thought they would be challenged for their position. But what the Alpha’s had failed to recogni
I need fresh air. I need to get out of here. I need to be outside with the sun and trees and less sexual tension. I took out some running gear and put it on before I heard the shower turn off. "Want to go for a jog?" Fiona had just stepped out of the shower as I was tying my shoes. "Not really. What happened?" "I don't know. I'm undesirable as per usual." "No. Nope. No more pity parties or mumbling under your breath bullying yourself. I won't allow it. I ban it." She looked so pretty even just coming out of the shower. Glowing really, but I guess that's what really good sex and love can do. "Well you've taken away 90% of my talking points." My arms flew up in the air and then hit my outer thighs with a thwack sound. "Why the frick am I more emotional?" "Faer
Sconces lined the hallway. Meadow green carpet lined the floor and a mural of a bright sunny day was painted as far as the eye could see. It all smelled new and was a bit overwhelming to my senses. That's probably why I didn't notice the Oisin watching me from the doorway up ahead."So you've made your decision?" I jumped not realizing he was so close to me."Don't scare me like that!" He laughed which was music to my ears. Uncrossing his arms I could see he was shirtless with water dripping from his head. He must have just showered. Sweatpants perfectly fitted. They must be new; I missed the old ones that hung off of his hips from being so worn out."Evelyn, keep your thoughts about my new wardrobe to yourself." He was listening. "Fiona would be very upset to hear you don't approve of my new sweats. She got them in blue, black, grey, dark green, and whatever other color she could find." He smirked. "I do have forever with you so at
Liam and I kept each other company, laying low in the compound. Since I was "murdered" by my father he thought it best to keep me hidden. He starting feeding and sleeping regularly, getting himself back in tip-top shape to see his beloved Fiona, while I sat wondering if I was making the right decision. I had time to change my decision."Are you ready to see them?" Liam knew this wasn't going to be a happy reunion until I had mated with my true love."Oh, totally. What could go wrong?" We both laughed nervously. We heard cheering and knew that the three vampires we loved most were home.Goddesses, help me. Let me make the right decision. This had to work, Maggie couldn't win. My father couldn't win. My mother couldn
Evelyn's POVI woke up in Fiona's room, Liam was sleeping on the couch. We snuck in since I am supposed to be dead. How fucked up can one family be?It could have been hours or days since I had showered and lay my head on Fiona's side of the bed. I couldn't wait to see my best friend, my sister.Tears threatened at the corner of my eyes and as soon as one fell, the dam would crack and the hot tears wouldn't stop until there was nothing left.Sitting up with the pink sheet held up to my chest, I cried silently. The tears rolled down my cheeks leaving tracks behind for the others to follow. It wasn't until I chortled, trying to hold back my melancholic melody, that Liam woke up."Fi?" He seemed to have forgotten what was happening. It took him a moment to wake up and come back to reality. It was like watching a kid g
Rian's POVMy patience was waning. Yes, we had to get home to Liam and Evelyn but I wanted to detach the King & Queen's heads from their bodies. If not, I declare war.Oisin was following his heart, something I didn't have the ability to do. I have a clan to protect and lead. As King I can't just fall for every lass that gives me butterflies. And Evelyn gave me butterflies. She gave me hope that my eternity of existence wasn't going to be the same everyday. That life wasn't just about blood and lust.As soon as her shitty excuse for a mum came back to the land of the fog, I went to see her. I wasn't planning on falling for her. She was only a teenager. She was stunning. Which is why that step-dad of hers had to die.
Evelyn's POV"Did I take too much? Evee? Oh shit Fiona's gonna kill me. I'm such an ass."I tried to keep a straight face but Liam's accent and worry over his beloved Fiona made me giggle."WHAT IN THE BLOODY HELL! EVELYN!?!?!"It was finally night time and he was back to his old self... almost. There was still sadness in his eyes and a wariness about him."I couldn't help it! I've told you time and time again that I'm fine. I'll let you know when your feeding becomes too much. And I'll talk to Fiona."He was out of the hole pacing back and forth in his bare feet. "Like hell you will. This is between me and my mate." At the word mate he stopped and sank down, his thighs sitting back on his calves. "But maybe she isn't mine.""Liam, that's ridiculous. You know that right? I'm going to to pick my true mate and break this stupid curse that my crazy ancestor put o
Violet's POVThe King has gone mad. He sentenced both his daughter and his Queen to death by beheading. When I first heard Nyx's voice in my head, I thought I was going mad. It's not everyday someone just pops into your mind and starts talking. And it was no secret I had a crush on him so I thought maybe I'd gone crazy. He said he was going to ask Maeve to pose as the Princess and that everyone should look and act normal while all was in chaos. If only Nyx had told me that Maeve had agreed to his plan I would never have gone through with it. Once we successfully separated from the Princess, we had Maeve in a convincing glamor with what I was told was a protection spell made up of a bundle of dried herbs that she stashed away in her dress. If only they would have told me, maybe I could have saved her. I most certainly would have taken her place.Arriving at the Kings study we heard wailing and
Oisin's POVWe all sighed a breath of relief knowing Liam and Evelyn had escaped. But why would the King, her own father, want to kill her?Rian didn't care why, all he could see was red. I understood how he felt but her father just found her, it made no sense. The castle was buzzing saying the princess's execution, and apparently the Queen was in a cell in the dungeon. We needed more intel but with the guests left over from the ball fleeing from the castle it was hard to go towards the fire while everyone ran from it.'Oisin? Prince Oisin?'What the fuck? Who was talking to me telepathically?'Nyx, a friend of the Princess.''What do you want?''Only to help. We can't talk here.'I guess the question was writte
Nyx knocked on the door not soon after I had finished some soup. Knowing him he chose his time wisely. Post shower, dressing, and food so Violet wouldn't have a reason for avoiding him.Violet opened the door for him and immediately blushed. She even curtsied for him! Maeve and I tried hard not to laugh. Nyx, dressed in faded black skinny jeans and a black v-neck t-shirt, looked mouth watering as always. He bowed his head to me and to Lady Violet! It was adorable how he was doting on her."Hello Princess, I hope I'm not intruding." He made his way over to a couch in my sitting area. The night sky above us and a hint of balmy fog in the air."Never. Are you here to see me or maybe someone else..." I continued to sip at my soup with a sly knowing smile."Unfortunately neither your Highness. I'm here on behalf of the King. He requests your presence immediately." Nyx looked uncomfortable, his hands kept moving while his
I paced back and forth in my room waiting for Maggie's mom to show up. I had summoned her right after I left Oisin standing alone in the ballroom."Maybe she doesn't want anyone else here, Princess, maybe we should leave or hide." Maeve made sense."Good idea. Stay close though." I continued to pace as the day wore on. The sun was setting again and I had hoped to be able to see Oisin and Fiona tonight. Maybe with some answers or strategies. What did I do wrong? Why is she not here?"Because I have better things to do. I'm not your mum and not at your beck and call."Finally!"Why wouldn't you want to be at my beck and call?" I felt a twinge of hurt. The old woman sat on my bed the same as last time.
