Bella's Pov
"We are here." My father stated after driving for a long time. My brows furrowed as I looked around. All I seen was what looked to be an abandoned hospital. The engagement party couldn't be here right? The building looked like it would fall apart at any second. It looked like it was haunted with its boarded up windows and bricks that looked like they would fall at any second. It looked like someone had went to knock it down but got a call right as the recking ball knocked into it. "Where are we?" I asked in disbelief as both my father and Lucas climbed out of the car. They couldn’t seriously believe that an engagement party would be perfect here? I grabbed the car door handle and tried to push it open but it didn’t budge. I looked down and pulled it towards me and pushed it again. My brows narrowed as the child proof lock prevented me from opening up the doors. I quickly tapped on the window like a caged animal earning a small smirk from Lucas. "Open the door." I demanded. My father turned to look at me for just a second before he was disregarding me and turning back towards Lucas. They didn’t think I would stay in the car did they? I gave the door one more push as I looked at the front door that was still open. A mumble left me as I climbed towards the front not showing any regard for my father car. The dress I had on was an inconvenience and I could only take my anger out on the car seats as it got caught on something causing me to have to wiggle and push forward with all my might. My head hit the dashboard and a small whimper left me and I lazily lifted my head up. A loud slam had me looking over and cursing. My father had closed the door while I was dazed. I quickly shimmied over and reached for the door just for it to not open. "You." I grit out as I got situated in my seat and grabbed the handle. No matter how hard I tried to open it it wouldn't budge. How was it not opening when the child proof locks should've only been in the back? I huffed as I slammed by body back against the passengers seat. I was being punished for what I said and it was unfair. Had my grandfather trusted in me to manage the company I wouldn't be having this problem right now. He thought I would grow up weak but I didn't. The sound of tires and a quiet engine had me lazily looking over. A black truck with tinted windows was slowly pulling up towards us. I looked over at my father and Lucas and back at the truck. What was happening? Were they meeting with this person? The truck turned off and what looked like a biker stepped around the truck. His black shirt clung to his body too tightly and he had sun glasses on for no apparent reason. His brown beard seemed to be untamed and his jeans seemed to tight. He was definitely a biker that was driving a truck. I could only imagine how loud his shoes had to be against the concrete. I watched as my father pointed to our car as he talked to the man who I could only assume was a criminal. Was this some type of drug deal? I had seen this kind of scene in movies that I had snuck and watched when my mother wasn’t around. The man looked at me with a smirk as he gave a slight nod to my father. As he started to walk towards our car I took no time into quickly making my way back into the back. I had seen to many movies to not understand that this couldn’t be good. The door was opened and a dark chuckle filled my ears as my waist was grabbed by two large hands. An ear piercing scream left me as I kicked anywhere I could on his body and fought to get away from him. "Help." I screamed when he restrained my arms and pulled me out of the car. Desperation kicked in and all I could do was turn towards my father as I tried to wiggle free. "Daddy help." I begged even though I wasn't dumb enough to think that this wasn't his doing. Why else did he point to the car? He set me up. The man lifted me in the air and I could do nothing besides kick at his legs that seemed to be made of steel. Tears were flowing down my face without any help from me as I wrestled to free myself. When the man turned me towards my father I gained a little hope. "Daddy please. I, I'm scared." I pleaded desperately as I tried to wiggle out of the man's calloused hands. I was tough to a point and I think I drew the line way before this big burly man. My father gave me a tight smile that didn't reassure me at all. My mom had warned me that he didn't love me. I should’ve known he would hurt me if he didn’t get what he wanted. "Sweetheart I." Loud music had him pausing and me looking over towards a limited edition gold Lamborghini that was definitely lost. The car sped towards us before whoever was in the car hit the breaks causing the wheels to create skid marks. The car stopped directly next to Lucas and the music lowered right as someone stepped out. "It took you long enough." Lucas mumbled with annoyance as a guy with blond hair stepped next to him. I would have gained a little hope if he didn’t look at me with disinterest. There was no way he help any type of empathy for my situation. "I would have been quicker had I not had to help Brandon clean up your lovely fiancées mess." The man wryly stated causing me to stiffen. My mess? "I haven't done anything." I rushed out desperately. They couldn’t punish me or blame me for anything when I didn’t do anything besides talk. “Are the guests still there?" Lucas asked completely ignoring me. Did nobody seem to care about my predicament? "Yes but people are starting to whisper that you guys are late because Bella doesn't want to marry you." The guy stated with a grim expression on his face. A small smirk formed as Lucas turned towards me. My chest tightened as I tried to wiggle free from the man's hold. The crazed look Lucas gave me had me less afraid of man holding me and more afraid of him. He was extremely handsome and I could only assume that with all the good qualities on the outside, he had to be crazy on the inside. "Bella I'm going to give you two options." Lucas stated with a deadly expression that had me shivering from fear. I looked over at my father praying that he would care but of course he was looking at me with narrowed eyes and presses lips. Lucas slowly walked forward and I flinched back as he reached for my face. His fingered grabbed my face gently and a wry smirk formed on his face as he rubbed my jaw. "I won't hurt you, you are going to be my wife and I like my things in tact." He stated nonchalantly. A small amount of defiance overtook the fear and I was quick to try to look away. I was nobody’s property. “I, I am not yours.” I stuttered with faux confidence. The smirk Lucas gave me would’ve had me fawning over him if I was the proper fiancée. "Princess I would hate for tonight to go horribly wrong, especially since your mothers freedom depends on it." My father stated from my side. I felt the color draining from my face as I took in his words. Her freedom? Did they have her? Did she not run away? "Now that we’ve got your attention here's your options." Lucas started as he gently forced me to look into his green eyes. The gentleness in them could only be described as possessives. "You will either come to the engagement party clinging to me like I am the only thing that gives you life or you will go home and be locked away forever never to see your mother again." He stated as he gently touched my lips with his finger. I couldn't focus on his actions when his words made it hard to breathe. I wanted to believe that he was lying but part of me always believed that she wouldn't leave me no matter what. That she loved me with all her heart and that she would've stayed forever trapped in our house if it meant that she could protect me. "Which will it be?" He asked lowly. I took a deep breath and willed myself to relax. It was one night, all I had to do was pretend than I would call the guy that my mother planned to marry me off too and ask him to ask his family for help. They had to be able to help. "I, I will go to the party." I stuttered as my chest tightened. A small smirk formed as he stared into my blue eyes. "I hope you make a good impression. One slip up and there will be no second chances." He whispered lowly. The smell of mint and wood assaulted my senses leaving me lost. Someone as cruel as him should've smelled like the worst musk in the world not like the perfect midnight snack.Bella's Pov "Remember to smile." Lucas stated lowly as we walked into the dimly light ball room. "How can I forget." I dead panned through my forced smile that I knew didn’t look every convincing. He looked at me and narrowed his eyes as he stared at my face. "That doesn't look like a smile. It looks like you are in pain." He dead panned. "It's hard to smile sincerely when my fiancé and father have threatened me and kidnapped my mother." I spit out through gritted teeth. I was not an actress nor was I a masochist. I would most likely be locked away in my room forever after this because all I felt towards Lucas and my father was disgust, they were repulsive and I couldn't pretend. I refused to marry him no matter how good looking he was. "Fair enough." He mumbled as he pulled me by my waist. His grip was tight, I didn’t even have to try to walk away to know that I wouldn’t be going anywhere unless he gave me permission or I caused a scene. In normal circumstances I would have
Bella's Pov "You." I started to say but was stopped short as I was guided towards the group of girls that were chatting away. Lucas seemed unbothered that he had to drag me by the shoulders due to my unwillingness. “What are you doing.” I demanded through clenched teeth right as we got in front of the group of girls. The girl with a green dress and orange crinkly hair paused what she was saying and turned towards us. A small smile formed as she looked at Lucas and than me.“What brings the two of you over here?” She asked sounding more pleased than curious. I could see the sparkle in her eyes as she stared at us. It was almost the equivalent to a child who was just given a huge bowl of ice cream. "Hello ladies I wanted to introduce you to my beautiful fiancée bella." Lucas stated with confidence that I didn’t have. I would’ve rather been anywhere else but here right now and we both knew it. "Hello Bella. It's nice to finally meet you." The girl with the orange said as she star
Bella's Pov (present time) I paled as the memory that I had forgotten about all them years ago clouded my mind. How had I forgotten that I had told my uncle everything that my mother had taught me? I had thought that the argument with my father was what caused my mother to disappear but now I had realized that my father always knew. My uncle had most likely told him right away. He didn't want me to run the company. He wanted me to grow up living a care free life not learning to run a business. It made no sense. My father allowed my mother to teach me everything I needed to know about the company. Why? Why did he not act when I was younger? Did he think that I would end up hating her? Did he think that I would never want to run the company? That had to be the reason. He thought that I would want to live a different life style. Unfortunately for him he was wrong. My mother was able to finally convince me that I was meant to be in power. I was the true heiress of the company an
Bella's PovI felt like I needed air. Lucas was relentless and all I could do is gasp every time he released my lips for a second. He leaned more into me and pushed me onto the marble floor. The coldness helped wake me up a little but not enough to be able to fight his lips that were quick to take ahold of mine again. His right hand went to leg and rubbed up it causing the fabric to scrunch up. A click sounded followed by a flash that was blinding. Multiple clicks and flashes had me closing my eyes. Lucas didn't seem to mind but I did. I tried to turn to see what was causing the bright light but was stopped by Lucas turning my head the other way and latching down on my neck with his lips. "Wait." I cried as I tried to gather my bearings. Dozens of clicks sounded as Lucas sucks down hard. "Lucas we, I, stop." I cried. I thought he would keep going but to my relief he gently released my neck and pulled back. I blinked a little as I slowly got onto my elbows. Another click and
Bella's Pov "Sweet heart do you feel any better?" My father asked as I sat down at the dining room table.” It would be a lie if I said that I felt better because I felt like I was dying and I hated it. My legs were still sore and my neck had a purple bruise on it that now stung because I had tried to scrub it off. I had no memory of the night before and it took all day just to finally get rid of my migraine. I only had it in me to give a forced smile as I grabbed the silver spoon next to my bowl of soup. I didn't have the energy to speak nor did I want to. I didn’t even want to come downstairs. If it wasn’t for me needing to eat I would’ve stayed locked away in my room. I grabbed a little bit of the steaming hot broth and brought it to my lips. The chicken seemed to be lightly seasoned and gave a little relieve to my throat that was still sore. "So tomorrow we are going to be having a press conference. I'll need you to wake up early." My father stated nonchalantly. My brows
Bella's Pov "Why do I need a microphone?" I asked with my now raspy voice. A good nights rest did not help cure my sore throat nor did all the soup I was given. It only got worse and I had my uncle to blame for this. "It's just standard procedure." My fathers assistant said as she pushed the wires down my dress. I narrowed my eyes because I didn't believe that my father would put a microphone on me unless he planned on forcing me to talk. "Mr. Connery will be doing all the talking. You have nothing to worry about." She stated with what I could only assume was a lie. I pressed my lips together as I stood perfectly still. My father was most likely hoping that I wouldn't be prepared. Fortunately he would be highly disappointed because I was born prepared. My mother had raised me to be in situations like this, so I wasn’t worried. His assistant smoothed down my white floral dress and spun me around. I narrowed my eyes at her instantly. "Enough." I snapped when she started
Bella's Pov 45 minutes into the press conference and we were no closer to being done than we were when we first got here. I assumed it would take no more than a half hour but with how Lucas's answers were dragging on it didn't seem like we would be leaving any time soon. I looked at the flower I had drawn and cursed internally. For 45 minutes Lucas talked about the stock market and what his plans were to help it flourish. I understood nothing that he was talking about and I probably could thank my mother for that. She had told me that I would have people to help when it involved the stock market. That my only concern was the company and that seemed to be a lie. Had I known the truth I would’ve paid more attention when she had turned on the stock news. After half heartedly listening to lucas go on for 45 minutes about the stock market, I realized that the stock market had a lot to do with our company. It seemed like I would have to worry about the stock market just as much
Bella's Pov "So you would punish the people that help run the company?" The reporter asked with a raised eye brow. My cheeks heated up at his words and at the fact that he didn't let me finish. "I, I didn't finish." I quickly blurted out. The reporter pressed his lips but still gave a slight nod indicated that I could continue. "Now as I was saying before I was rudely interrupted. I would cut the pay of management, than I would go over all the contracts that we have with different companies and renegotiate the contracts." I stated confidently. I tweaked a few things my mother said but it was still the same. My mother only wanted to bump the amount we received by 5%. I wanted to up it by 50% or get rid of the middle man all together. Why couldn’t we open up our own stores? Why were we only the distributors? "Can you explain ‘renegotiate contracts’?" The reporter asked. A small smile formed because this was my time to shine. "Well I meant that I would consider if we woul
Lucas's pov "Is she finally asleep?" Theodore asked as soon as I walked into the pool room. "Yes." I said as I sat down on a chair next to Robert. "It took long enough." Theodore complained in a clipped tone. " She just wanted to watch another movie." I said as I stood up and walked over to the mini fridge that was next to a mini bar. "You could've said no." Theodore muttered. I ignored him and grabbed myself a sprite. "As long as she's without her memories, Lucas will be the perfect husband." Robert said or more like threatened. His deadly tone reminded me that this wasn't a fun vacation. "Get me a coke." Robert said as I sat down. I groaned internally and gave a tight-lipped smile as I stood back up. I was quick to grab a coke and turned towards Theodore. "Did you want something? "Yea, get me a water." He said. "Okay. I mumbled as I grabbed the water. I walked up to Robert and handed him his drink. "Thanks." Robert said, which was surprising. "No problem." I sa
Bella’s Pov My eyes narrowed as I looked at my doctor who had clearly lied about my sister going home. She had told him that she would stop being different for Lucas and me and now she could stay for some reason. “Did you already pick the movie?” He asked when he noticed me staring. “Lucas did.” I murmured as I looked over at Lucas and narrowed my eyes even more because he was suppose to be watching a movie with me but instead he was on his laptop doing work. “Are we not watching a movie?” I asked as my brows furrowed. “After I’m done.” He murmured as he continued to type away on his laptop. “You have been working for hours.” I stated as I glanced at the screen that had all kinds of documents spread around. He clicked on one of the screens and it switched places with another causing me to become confused. I didn’t understand anything he was doing so I could only look back at him in frustration.“Can’t you do that later?” I asked as he stared intently at the screen. “Relax.” H
Lucas’s Pov The irritation I felt as I glanced at Theodore was tangible. We had decided that we would keep it simple and make sure that Monica was pacified along with Bella but for some reason Theodore had seemed to have forgotten. “Don’t you guys have a prenup?” Robert added to the conversion. My brows furrowed as I looked at him with a questioning gaze. If not for Bella and Monica I would’ve asked both of them what they were doing because it seemed like they were trying to sabotage my marriage again. We had clearly agreed to make it seem like Monica didn’t get hardly any inheritance and that’s why she married Theodore but for some reason they were both being reckless. “No we don’t have a prenup.” Theodore stated confidently. I internally chuckled as I forced myself to look at Bella. “Didn’t I say to eat?” I asked as I grabbed one of the deviled egg with the fork and brought it up to her lips. She looked down at the egg and over at me with a meek expression on her face. I
Bella’s Pov “You can sit next to me.” My doctor said nearly instantly. The way my sisters face morphed to one of pure anger had me confused and annoyed. “But I want to sit here.” She said as she looked back at Lucas. “Why do you keep looking at my husband?” I couldn’t help but ask as I narrowed my own eyes. She clearly had her own husband but acted like she didn’t. She didn’t even treat him like he was her husband. Lucas told me it’s because she didn’t remember him but that didn’t matter because I didn’t remember Lucas and I didn’t act like her. Monica looked at me and frowned clearly not liking that I asked her that question. “I can look at him.” She retorted with an attitude that had me pursing my lips together.“I said eat.” Lucas murmured as he leaned in closer to me. I looked at him through my lashes and blushed a little as he stared at me with a stern gaze. “But she keeps looking at you.” I couldn’t help but say. “Is her looking at me hurting you?” He asked lowly. “Yes.”
Bella’s Pov I watched as Lucas put different kinds of food on my plate. “What’s that?” I asked as he grabbed what looked like a boiled age but cut in half. I had had boiled eyes with my soup yesterday and I couldn’t lie and say that it wasn’t delicious. “A deviled egg.” Lucas stated as he put it next to the cut up pieces of steak and bread. “A deviled egg.” I murmured to myself. “Yes.” He murmured as he grabbed some rice. “Is it good?” I couldn’t help but ask as I leaned closer into him. “Yes.” He stated confidently. “What are you guys doing?” A female asked from behind me before I could ask more questions. I looked over my shoulder and narrowed my eyes as Monica and my uncle walked up to us. My uncle Theodore was walking causally next to my sister which had me furrowing my brows. “Why are you here?” I asked in annoyance. My uncle gave a smile while my sister only rolled her eyes. “I decided to take your sister down for something to eat.” My uncle Theodore stated. I gave
Bella’s Pov (3 days later) I tightened my hold on Lucas’s hand and stared at all the people that were walking around in pretty dresses. Lucas had told me that there would be no more than a couple of people but from what I could see there was at least 100 people walking around. I used my free hand to tug on the black dress that Lucas had me wear. He told me that black was my favorite color dress but after looking at all of the colorful dresses that scattered the room I could almost guarantee he was lying. “Next time I want to wear a yellow and purple dress.” I stated as I realized that my two favorite colors were them. “Yellow and purple?” He asked sounding surprised. “Yes. I like them colors and nobody seems to be wearing one of them colors.” I said as I looked around one more time. “That’s because then colors don’t go well together.” He stated in a matter of fact tone. Had I had my memories I would’ve argued with him but since I wasn’t sure if he was lying I could only pur
Bella’s Pov I stared at Lucas in confusion not understanding how even though he could make me blush I didn’t remember him at all. I couldn’t lie and say that he wasn’t handsome. He had a charm to him that I thought was perfect and I could only assume that’s why we married. When he looked up at me from his food a small smirk formed on his lips. He gently wiped his mouth off with his napkin and smirked as he licked his lips. “So do you like your food?” He asked as he looked down at my chicken lettuce wrap and back up at me with a raised brow and a smile. My cheeks brightened as I looked back down at my plate that I had forgotten about. I hadn’t even realized that I was staring at him for so long. He was the definition of perfect and I could only grab my food quickly and take a big bite. Eating was better than talking. Especially since he caused butterflies to attack me every time he talked or looked at me. How had I ended up with someone so perfect? “So I take it that it’s good
Lucas’s Pov I tried not to react as Bella looked at me from across the table. She was suppose to still be sleep but somehow she was awake and now staring at me with a questioning gaze. “Why, why don’t I remember anything again?” She asked as she grabbed her iced tea and slowly drank it. I gave a forced smile as I looked at Robert for the answer because I wanted to know the same thing. She was suppose to know who I was but for some reason she woke up and remembered nothing. Robert who had been silent the whole time bared his teeth as he looked down at the papers that one of his workers brought to him when she had woke up. “It seems like the accident you got into has given you amnesia.” He forced out through the anger that seemed to be brewing slowly. “Amnesia?” She asked in confusion as she set her glass down delicately. “Yes, it seems like you lost all your memories because of the accident.” He ground out. I didn’t have to ask him if he was upset because it was clear as day t
Penelope’s Pov “Enough.” He yelled loudly. The shock that my mother had was quickly replaced by anger. “Don’t tell at our daughter.” She screamed back at him. “Shut up, I am done with Penelope’s obsession over Lucas. Lucas is married and what he does with Bella is his business and if she can’t understand that than I will disown her.” He said with so much aggression that I knew he wasn’t joking. His words had me paling as they slowly settled it. “You’ll disown me because of Lucas?” I couldn’t help but ask as I took a deep breath and grabbed at my chest. My father was suppose to love me but instead he planned on disowning me for Lucas. “No, I’ll disown you because of your obsession that is ruining this family not because of Lucas.” He exclaimed with narrowed eyes. “I am not obsessed.” I stated defensively. Even though I knew that the love I had for Lucas had passed being normal I refused to admit that I was wrong. “Really than why do you care about what he does with his wife?”
