Bella’s Pov

A soft sigh left me as I watched as Lucas talked on the phone as he wrote down whatever was being said to him. He had been on the phone for awhile now and I couldn’t help but groan internally.

He stared down at the notepad as his brows furrowed because of whatever was said to him. Had it been someone else’s phone I would’ve probably been able hear what the person on the phone was saying since I had become accustomed to listening in when the maids made calls for me. Unfortunately his phone seemed to not go far as the maids.

“Mhm, I understand but I will be out of the office for the next two weeks.” He stated as he wrote something else down.

I leaned forward and looked at whatever he had wrote not really understanding the numbers and random letters. I could only assume they were either time or places.

A loud ticking noise had me looked over with furrowed brows. Multiple ticking sounds had me scowling as I look at the little trinket that seemed to actually be a clock.
