Bethany’s Pov (3 days later) “This was sudden.” I whispered as I watched Adams pack up a suit case. He looked up at me with a forced smile. I knew that he wanted to stay and it was killing him to leave me but we needed the money. “It will only be a little over a week.” He stated with a soft smile. Bella’s Pov A soft sigh left me as I watched as Lucas talked on the phone as he wrote down whatever was being said to him. He had been on the phone for awhile now and I couldn’t help but groan internally. He stared down at the notepad as his brows furrowed because of whatever was said to him. Had it been someone else’s phone I would’ve probably been able hear what the person on the phone was saying since I had become accustomed to listening in when the maids made calls for me. Unfortunately his phone seemed to not go far as the maids. “Mhm, I understand but I will be out of the office for the next two weeks.” He stated as he wrote something else down. I leaned forward and looked at whatever he had wrote not really understanding the numbers and random letters. I could only assume they were either time or places. A loud ticking noise had me looked over with furrowed brows. Multiple ticking sounds had me scowling as I look at the little trinket that seemed to actually be a clock.

Lucas’s Pov “You know she’s going to still want you fired?” I asked as I looked at Robert with a raised brow. He had erased her memories like he was getting a new hair style and it had me a little worried that that would be his go to every time she did something that he didn’t like. “I know that. Bella’s Pov “Why didn’t you wake me up?” I mumbled as I stared out of the jet window in awe. I had never seen anything as beautiful as everything that I was looking at right now. The vibrant green grass that looked like it stretched far away was mesmerizing and what looked like a river that was off to the side had me pushing my face more into the window. “You should’ve waked me.” I continued as I watched us fly over the river. “We didn’t want to disturb your slumber.” Danny stated in a clipped tone. Bella’s Pov “Stop.” I cried as I tried to move my head away from Lucas’s hand that wouldn’t stop rubbing my hair. For some reason after he had kissed me like he needed me to breath he had nudged my head against his chest. His continuous stroke of my hair had me feeling flustered. It didn’t hurt but it made it impossible for me to look around the jet because whenever I tried to lift my head he was pushing it back down and rubbing my hair more. “Relax.” He whispered against my hair. Bella’s Pov A small smile formed as I climbed out of the car. “It’s beautiful.” I whispered as I looked at the huge beach resort that we would be staying at for the next two weeks. The resort was bigger than any building I had ever seen before. It was like 10 times as long as our company. The pearly white and black trimming of the building almost seemed out of place if not for the clouds and the mountain that were in the distance. “How is there snow on that mountain but not here?” I asked. I furrowed my brows and looked at the mountain that clearly had a lot of snow on it. I looked up at the sky and stared at all the blue that should’ve had at least a few clouds blocking it. I didn’t have to look behind me to know that the sky was clear above the ocean. The beach was what I paid attention to as we drove down the curvy road that lead the the resort. Bella’s Pov I couldn’t help but feel like a pampered prisoner as I gently moved my legs through the water. I held the railing on the side of the indoor pool that was somehow in our suite and allowed my body to float out a little.“This is unfair.” I mumbled as I pushed myself away from the edge. I floated forward as I kicked my feet a little not really remembering how to swim. I was at least lucky that Lucas had taken the time to give me floaties to keep me from sinking to the bottom. He had at first tried to give me a tour but the stubborn part inside of me had refused. Bella’s PovA small smile was plastered on my lips as I allowed my feet to wiggle in the sand. The coolness of it as I pushed my feet deeper brought a sense of comfort to my body. The constant swish of the waves brought a sense of peace that had me loving this moment.
