Clearly, Amelia didn’t want to discuss the issue any further. She took a few steps forward, her black boots clicking against the ground, her long hair flowing down to her waist. Her legs were long and slender, her fair skin almost glowing.

But Carl still noticed something unusual about her right wrist. Suddenly, he raised her wrist, his dark eyes lowering as he asked, “What happened here?”

Amelia was unconcerned. “I must have scraped it against a tree while avoiding hitting the wrong person. It’s fine, I’ll take care of it when I get back…”

Her sentence was abruptly cut off.

It was because of Carl’s sudden movement. He leaned down, his lips brushing against her wrist. His touch was dangerously close, yet gentle and tender.

It wasn’t quite a kiss, but the coolness of his lips eased the burning sensation from her injury.

Amelia had never been this close to anyone before. She instinctively tried to pull her wrist away.
