6. What If It Comes Back To You?

"I won't hide anything from you anymore, and I will tell you everything," Noah finally opened his mouth after he could only remain silent because of Jessica's cornering questions. "To be honest, Tyler and I have been dating since we were in college. We loved each other, but unfortunately, my parents didn't let me be with him. That's because we're both men."

"..." Jessica didn't say anything after hearing Noah's explanation.

She didn't agree to listen to her husband's story, but she didn't plan to interrupt him either.

"Maybe it's my fault for coming out of the closet right after graduating from college," Noah continued even though he didn't get a response from Jessica. I also agreed to marry you so that my mother would no longer worry about my relationship with a man."

"Now, I'm more certain that I want to divorce you, Noah Brooks," Jessica spoke again when the man didn't immediately respond to what she said.

Noah widened his eyes, and he suddenly responded, "No! You can't do that to me, Jess!"

"Why can't I do that to you?" Coldly, Jessica asked the brown-haired man. "You don't love me, and you even have a secret lover, so there's no reason for us to stay together, right? And even if you want to use someone to cover your relationship with your man, you can look for another woman and marry her after we divorced."

It seemed like Jessica was so certain of her decision, but Noah stubbornly shook his head before saying, "You can't easily divorce me because you actually also need this relationship, Jess. You must still remember that your father is currently in hospital, right? Your father has a weak heart, and his condition has recently declined so much that he even needs to receive intensive care in the hospital. If you insist on divorcing me, what will happen to your father?"

It was not that she forgot about her father's condition, but she just wanted to get out of the black hole as soon as possible without thinking about her father's illness.

I can keep my relationship with Tyler a secret, and you can be sure that your father's condition will not get any worse if nothing happens to our relationship."
