Chapter 19 The Plan

“Sure, I understand. Take whatever time you need.” Max agrees.

“Thanks.” I reply as I hang up.

There's a knock at my door. I wondered how long it would take him. I grab all the stuff I was working on and stuff it in my briefcase and close it. Then answer the door.

“I just needed to see you were ok.” He responds.

“Well now you've seen me, I'm in one piece, you can go.” I reply.

“Please can we talk?” He pleads.

“I don't know what there is to say.” I respond.

“Please? Just five minutes.” He begs.

“Fine.” I respond.

I let him in and I sit at the table. He sits down opposite of me. “Look I know she drugged me. Here's proof from the lab. I would never cheat on you. And other than the kissing nothing else happened.”

“I know.” I reply.

“Then you'll come home?” He asks.

“No.” I reply.

“But I don't understand. I didn’t cheat. I was drugged. And nothing happened. You can’t hold this against me. That’s not fair.” He pleads.
